Yes! I really wish you could edit your initial apology for the camera work. Express your gratitude to your ten-year old son for his contribution manning the camera for this session. Done. Truthful. Concise. And most of all, avoids diminishing your son in a public forum.
I don't necessarily need to see an aggressive/reactive dog with a muzzle to success, but I really like the voice-over narrative, describing the play-by-play action, especially the subtle body language.
Considering your son is a novice cameraman, he did really good. All you needed was an initial explanation that he was doing your filming and he was new and no apologies. We don't get better unless we do something. And the more we do, the better we get. Props to your son. Also, to the dog thing, it was entirely cute watching Prince and this girl Matcha get along so amazingly. Yes, is it fun watching Prince beat down another dog? Yes. But seeing you two work with dogs and help them is what people want to see. The 'action' brings them in, the real work is what keeps people interested.
I also really like seeing Prince having a great time. He works with a bunch of ahole dogs. Seeing the two of them expressing joy is wonderful! Your narrative makes it even better.
I love seeing Prince so happy!! My dog plays with my friend’s dog just like this - I’m happy to hear you describe that type of play as “best friend stuff”. Warms my heart haha
"She's a Bull: she pulls Hard. When she wants to Get to something: She Gets There." In no uncertain terms, I love it 🐕. It perfectly describes female pits on a leash 2:56
That is the only reason I didn't walk them when I volunteered at my local shelter. I wasn't ever scared of them but I am pretty slight so if they get distracted and decide to go I am not going to be able to stop them. Kind of funny actually, I can keep other much larger dogs under control but even a small pitbull can drag me pretty easily. But other than that I actually did pretty well around the pitbulls at the shelter, I often would sit and just talk to the ones that were considered aggressive and help calm them down. Fortunately the shelter I volunteered at was a no kill and all the pitts and other more aggressive dogs went to a rescue in Oklahoma where they rehabilitated and rehomed them or they stayed at the rescue if they couldn't be rehomed for various reasons.
Describes my female English Bulldog to a T. She's also a marker. And she humps other dogs, including unneutered male dogs. She was quite a handful but one of my best dogs ever. She passed away last year. She was 13 years old. I thought she'd be bullying dogs until she's 20.
To think there's people out there who like to see dogs fight and tear each other apart. Horrible. This is what I like to see, dogs playing, having fun together. It's so good to see that, they're like children at a playground. My mood has been improved after watching this. Thank you for the work you do and don't worry, your kid did great recording them!
It's nice to see an occasional example of what friendly play looks like. A lot of inexperienced dog owners don't know. Your son's camera work is fine btw.
walked up to a front door that was open and a pity sprinted at me barking and i didnt flinch or move and it backed down. owner came over freaking out and was shocked it didnt touch me and i had to give her some tips with aggression. had an abused aggressive border collie for 12 years now. just found this channel and love it!
I used a ton of Joel’s tips with my reactive german shepherd when he first met a family member’s husky/shepherd mix. He was able to earn getting off leash and off muzzle progressively and she was a fantastic helper dog. They got so comfortable with each other and she’s going to be a regular visitor for him!
Love love love this video!! Prince met his soul mate! Love on first site. Love how the two dogs just got so comfortable with each other right away once she was off leash and the muzzle. The owners would have never have known that she could be so good with a dog like this. Amazing! So great to see diff picture of pitbull here.
Prince as usual is a king among dogs. Also I think Prince was definitely hearing some good disco or Marvin Gaye tunes in his head when he started being pals with this pit lass!
I'm so happy you're no nonsense with everyone, the dogs, the owners, even the comments here on UA-cam. I'm so happy to see you're being strict and setting up boundries with the animals. I grew up in a rescue center for dogs and cats and all types of animals, and I get super annoyed when I see owners being so lenient with their dogs, letting them be rude. The intention isn't to hurt the dogs, its just speaking to them in a way they actually understand. I can't believe people complain about the muzzle too. What're they expecting "No, I'll just let my own dog that I use to help other peoples dogs get mauled because the little doggie doesn't like the muzzle that stops them sinking their teeth into Prince". Fair play man, love your stuff ^_^
Prince and this dog are so cute 🥰 I love when traditionally more "ferocious" looking dogs play and are adorable with each other. It's so heart melting haha
The rescue dog I picked up in June is a pit. He gets a little stiff at first around other dogs, but I've never seen him show anything but friendliness. I'm always ready, in case.
Just keep socialising him. Even if another dog goes for him, bring him back to teach him that getting sat down isn't the end of the world and that not all dogs are like that. Owners that never socialise their dog again because some other dog in a bad mood had a go are doing their dog a disservice.
Maybe its "boring" to most people that enjoy drama (for the life of me I have no idea why anyone on earth does), but I was extremely happy with the video and watched the entire thing without realizing the time!? lol
I don't think people realize how important it is to teach your dog to be calm. Prince has good temperament and training on top. It's great seeing confident dogs help others.
I love this video. I'd like to see more like these. It's helpful because it's good to learn what happy play behavior looks like, too. The more behaviors I see - both good and bad - the more confident I feel in recognizing them in my dog and in dogs we encounter in the real world.
I’ve learned so much by watching these videos. Had a teachable moment while walking passed by a neighbor dog and it was on a thin wire tie out it’s was aggressive and lunges at us on street. Owner came out and held the dogs I’m guessing they were scared of them getting off tie out. My perked up and I did the knee bump correction amd it got their attention and looked right at me and never barked and we walked on well behaved and not one lunge or bark. I was so proud of him and myself this technique worked. Thank you!
So beautiful. My intact cane Corso does so well with spayed female dogs. And these female dogs love him too. So weird. He interacts just like Prince with these dogs. Amazing!!!!
Plsss post more like these! I love how you explain their behavior and It’s not a bad interaction this time. Just 2 dogs harmonizing and prince being adorable. Also I think it’s helpful to understand normal/positive interactions between dogs
Prince is so IN LOVE with her lmao it's adorable. I hope you're able to get these two together in the future for just a play date or something, hell I'd watch that!
Great job on video. Sometimes when girl dogs have had puppies before in life intact males know it. Not sure what her background is. Glad she found a friend
Your son did an impressive job for a 10 year old. The camera work was adequate to make the video worth watching and I'm sure he'd only improve over time! Also, I think it's great that you're involving him and giving him real responsibilities.
I love seeing these pittie videos. Please keep them coming. Your loose leash walking technique has done great things for my 6 year old rescue male staffy.
Your son did a great job! You have to start somewhere, and good you can guide him. Dogs were completely amazing!! Thank you for sharing this type video!
I don't know how much of a success this is. It's pretty obvious that was love at first sight 😂 On a more serious note, it's definitely great for that pit bull to have this kind of reference and memory for future encounters with other dogs.

Thank you for zooming in and educating others about ALL the body language. The positive and the negative, every bit of it is important to your viewers. From one teacher to another, I’m sending you loads of appreciation.
Everything you say is what I learned intuitively watching my chocolate lab interact with older dogs at the park. As long as they don't hurt the pup, it's all doggy school. Absolutely correct about these two... I call it taking turns. If they both play the submissive back and forth, they're good friends. I like to watch the dog's, occasionally talk to the owners lol. I watched my pup go from little trouble maker, to the senior of the dog group 13 years later. I even seen mature dogs correct young dogs that would want to harass "The Godfather" as he became known. Your training is beautiful. Train a good dog and it will teach the young ones in its pack to behave. Bravo sir!! I salute you!!
I think these videos are important, to show what improvement looks like, and the signs for progression in behavior improvement just as much as when things are getting worse
8:30 that is totally best friends! I have a 2 year old pittie, her and my friend’s husky do that stuff to each other. To see a dog that you were told by the owners had a whole list of aggressive acts under her belt do this? Amazing! You gotta listen to the dog and Prince knew just like you did she could be trusted. So beautiful to watch them!
I would love too see more video like this as it really nice to see dogs being happy, playing well together. It nice to see and learn more about their body language. Beautiful dogs so much in love 😍 Keep up with the amazing work you do.
Most other videos I've watched have a lot of gradual progression. With this one, a switch was flipped as soon as you gave her the treat at the beginning. Please keep posting more like this!
I'd be happy to even just see a compilation of your success stories, and an explanation of why those little moments worked so well. Knowing what good things look like is fun too! Get you some good free sample music and compile some cute footage. This was a great video, its nice to see how sweet she was with him, and what it looks like when a dog is genuinely excited to meet a friend!
A few of these vids showing the comfort and body language between dogs is gonna be great to help my wife be more comfortable with how our dog is. I never have problems but she is always afraid of having problems.
Dude saw your quiver on the porch. 52 yr old surfer myself. Just Wana say your methods are the best I've seen Absolutely loved seeing Prince and this Pit in love. Great stuff!
Loving all the pit video! My friends female pit is also a big marker. I say keep video like this coming, its nice to see dogs that are thought to be harmful be so happy and playful in the right situation. I never got my dog off the muzzle when he met my friends dogs but I feel like it was a similar thing where he just wanted to play with them and had so much energy.
I have found in my work with dogs(rescue work) that an easy trigger can be the other dog being unstable, or the owner not taking charge and leaving the dog to take the lead. At that point, the dog feels it must protect the owner which can lead to all kinds of aggressive behaviors with the owner and on the property. Removing a dog to a neutral zone without the owner usually uncovers this I have had several dogs come in with very aggressive behavior that took just a couple weeks to correct. Great video. Blessings
The videos like this are very helpful because you are teaching us what proper social playing looks like! Thank you. Can’t have too much teaching on dog-dog interaction, both good and bad.
Quite often when dogs know and like each other their social play can get quite rough while still being comfortable with each other. And they can get vocal (not growling). Other people not familiar with them may think it is aggression but it is not. My dog has friends like this. They end up lying all over each other like lovers.
@@MonkeyHerder3 , My two (8 years apart) play like this, and they can get loud. The two Labs next door sound like they’re about to kill each other, but they’re really best friends, expending energy and having fun.
It's important to show more of this. People need to see how best friend play looks like. And also that it's important to supervise even best friend play. Cause like the humping there can always be something that needs to be corrected. Love your channel. Subscribed!
Love these videos, all of them. So helpful, I really do not care if it's your son or your cousin filming, the learning moments are plenty! I saw she had a bit of a limp already coming in. So you did spot something.
Great video! I like that you narrate her body language and tell me what behaviors I should be looking for with my dog. Valuable! When she met Prince, even though you felt comfortable with her, you still were in position, ready for a correction. I have to remember that. Your explanation of her behavior and what else you saw that needed the corrective “pop” you gave her. helped me. It was her “reminder pop.” You speak my kind of language. You do an excellent job of explaining body language, what, why, and how to be successful with my dog. You're a terrific teacher! I thank you. 😉
This helped me so much. My dog it's the male version of that female. Never aggressive with people but dogs have jumped fences just to attack him. He's been attacked enough times that now I'm concerned with meeting other dogs. This gave me hope.
Love watching these type of videos. They help me understand my Lab girl better when she is with her best buds in the field. This is soulmate stuff for sure. 🐾🐾🐾🐾🇬🇧💕
Wow, this was huge. Of the hours and hours of your videos I’ve watched, I’ve never seen Prince trust another dog enough to be completely submissive like that. Love!
Love seeing both kinds of videos. I learn a lot from the videos where things don’t go this smoothly, but I also learn from videos like these. Either way, my learning so much is largely b/c you’re so good at pointing things out & explaining. Thank you!
I watched this a while back (now new fon/account) and seeing it again love it even more! It's great to see success stories! It's not totally simple cuz u were concerned enough to use the muzzle. Beautiful descriptions of body language. My 9-yr-old street-rescue pit & 1-yr-old street-rescue pit did the "best friends" move their first day together (& pretty much every day since lol) and it makes me so happy! Thanks for the teaching🐾❤️

This thread is a classic example of with great power comes great responsibility. Big dogs require a big dog owner, they aren’t tonka trucks folks, there to entertain big kids. They require a strong minded and responsible Alpha owner to MAKE THEM good pets & more importantly, good dogs.
Wait until a "scary" pit attacks you and your dogs or your child. There's a good reason to be scared. I'm fearful of them because a pit attack lead to me euthanizing two dogs on the same day at the same time after hours of agony waiting to be seen at the pet ER. Of course they are scary. They are the biggest offenders and for some reason have the largest group of defenders out there. I find it purely naive and dangerous thinking to look at a pit and not respect the power it has. I don't care how sweet or cute it looks - I'm packing if I know they'll around.
And that's the problem - pits are strong dogs and they are pushed onto people from shelters and advocacy groups no matter the abilities of the potential owner. Everytime I see someone walking a pit I wonder if they know how to dominate their dog and incapacitate it in case it attacks. In my case, the owner didn't know but my neighbor did. If they have we need vids from them x)
This was one of the cutest things I've ever seen. Hopefully they got these 2 together often since this was posted
I bet the owners were thrilled with the new friendship! Loved it!
I love this…. It’s so great to see dogs that feel safe enough to just be their goofy selves! Our Dobbies do the same thing!!! Aw, I love Prince!
Beautiful dogs so much in love 😍
Keep up with the amazing work you do.
Most other videos I've watched have a lot of gradual progression. With this one, a switch was flipped as soon as you gave her the treat at the beginning.
Please keep posting more like this!
That's what Pits are bruda
They have two modes. Dog mode and hunt mode
The filming is probably better then what I would have been able to do.
Same! Great job!
😂
Dude saw your quiver on the porch. 52 yr old surfer myself. Just Wana say your methods are the best I've seen Absolutely loved seeing Prince and this Pit in love. Great stuff!
Loving all the pit video! My friends female pit is also a big marker. I say keep video like this coming, its nice to see dogs that are thought to be harmful be so happy and playful in the right situation. I never got my dog off the muzzle when he met my friends dogs but I feel like it was a similar thing where he just wanted to play with them and had so much energy.
I'm literally havving a cuteness overload they are definitely soulmates and I love watching Pitties play with other dogs.
Prince: Finally, you've brought me someone who I'll get along GREAT with!
Just had to put my Dobie down. What a gentlemen he was. Dirk. He lived a great life !!!
Yesssss more please! People need to see success stories to believe it’s possible to work with ‘aggressive’ dogs 👏🏼👏🏼
Blessings
Really a beautiful video! Prince’s confident demeanor just commands respect! Love how they play so well together!
Loved it. I love seeing my staffy find friends. So happy Prince has a dog he doesn't have to 'deal' with for a change but actually likes.
@@MonkeyHerder3 ,
My two (8 years apart) play like this, and they can get loud. The two Labs next door sound like they’re about to kill each other, but they’re really best friends, expending energy and having fun.
Give us success stories! There's nothing boring about seeing a dog be happy being taught how to be safe!
More please! Great video! We saw a new side of Prince today.
Love to see the follow-up...gives people real hope for their own dogs that might have issues.
I personally loved this episode
I like your matter of fact way when explaining. Thank you so much for your videos! Liisa
Just love Prince. Good to see him play with a new friend. Husky owners since 1997...we've had 6 !
Thank you!
I know this is an old video now. But that was delightful! Seeing prince so enamoured 🥰
love these kinds of videos!! such sweethearts🥺🥰
I LOVEd seeing this video. It’s great to see what positive play looks like so we can recognize that also.
