We think this was possibly caused by a voltage issues due to an incorrect alternator exciter wire. Built motor is doing great.

Keen to see the engine rebuild, I’m planning on putting a turbo on my beams would you recommend upgrading the pistons and rods if I’m only aiming for 225kw/300hp?

Rhett was able to achieve 315whp with an unopened BEAMS at about 13 PSI. You can get away without doing anything to the motor but about 13 PSI on 94 pump is the limit. Now he has rods and pistons you can turn them up closer to 400, even further with better fuel
