Hey Mitch, You saved time, you saved money. I've said it before... you Quist boys are NOT afraid of hard work! You said the demo took you about an hour and a half. It would have taken me a day and a half, and then another day and a half to recover. Also wanted to say, nice pour. I always learn so much more that "just" epoxy techniques. Good value in your videos.

Hi from Gloucester UK! I watch your tutorials and have been applying some of your techniques on a very much smaller scale! I make coasters and placemats with resin and some of your techniques translate quite well to the smaller projects. My latest exotic pour for my partner…he asked for a coaster with a black and white tuxedo cat just like our own Maine Coon cat. I used purple and pearl white mica, sage green and white pigment paste and blue gloss and silver metallic spray paints. It’s come out more blue/green than the purple/blue scheme requested but resin does what it wants! I then added the cat decals and a few other decorations…too coated with my normal brand of epoxy with a light misting of gold mica mixed with alcohol (thanks for that pro tip!)

I did a Stone Countertop for my sink countertop! I tried to do your caramel recipe but I guess I used too much brown coloring and it came out way darker. but that's OK. It is more like a deep dark coffee and cream and I love coffee. So it turned out better! I painted red guard on 6 inches of the wall from the countertop and up, right behind the sink area to do a little more water proofing because when I removed the original backsplash I found water damage and some mold. I also used sanded silicone (from Home Depot) matched to the grout at the bottom of tile where it met the countertop too! I didn't think of the expansion and contraction aspect of it (good to know pro tip), I was just thinking of water proofing those corners where the counter meets the wall where water can sit. I also used a grout sealer for the rest of the normal grouted areas behind the sink. I like how you masked off and applied the silicone before you dropped the sink. I wish I saw that before I did mine. I applied the silicone bead on the bottom of sink edges, opposite way. I know you warned us about it but I have a few(two) embedded chopping brush bristles on the clear coat. Because of the darker surface color I should have used a light to inspect before it dried. Watching epoxy dry is more exciting than watching paint dry. ;) Great tip on shutting down HVAC. I shut mine down to also let the dust in the air settle down but I also ran 4 HEPA air filter units full blast in the area for an hour and shut that down before the pour. Otherwise it's hard to control the dust when you don't have a clean room controlled environment. I like this new format of showing more of the DIY reno process expanding more on the SCC product application. It's great that you share little pro tips in all of your videos. They are so super helpful.
What do you think of the ideal of having on your web site a DIY gallery section that showcases photos of customer success stories of the use of your product? Think it would be a great promotion and marketing thing for you guys and would inspire confidence in potential clients that "You (they) got this" and they can do it too. Love all your videos. Definitely helped me do mine. I plan to do Stone Coat shower walls in our master bath soon. Fantastic unique idea and application of epoxy. Your videos on that are great too.
I'd like to see a Geode table top (Option A + Option C) if that's possible.
Wish your SCC company/family much success.

Beautiful! I wish I had known about being able to take the plywood off underneath and just attaching the strips, before I did mine on top of the tile with primer, concrete, LevelQuik, etc. Mine was a 6-day project just doing the countertops. But this was a great tutorial! Thanks, Mitch!

Hey Mitch. Perfect timing. I just removed our 1980, painted tile countertop. U-shaped kitchen. Trying to figure out where to put the seams. Going with apron/farmhouse sink.
Great tip on using waterproofing under the counter. Having a hard time locating Ardex SK1, may have to use redguard and use a dark color silicone caulk. So not to see redguard.
Thank for posting. Looking forward to the next episode.

I've painted the red gard black with paint to keep the undermount sink from showing pink. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions!

Terrific job Mitch. I’m glad you’re not trying to be another Mike, but letting your own wonderful personality be your guide. You got this! For sure. Please, tell me again the name of the brown paper you put down to protect things. I really need that while doing my epoxy art pieces. Thanks. Keep up the great job.

I appreciate that! I use Ram Board for the floor covering but there are many brands. What you wanna pay attention to is the floor coverings that are impervious to water. Here's an Amazon link to show you what I'm talking about: Ram Board Floor Protection: amzn.to/3KkiciB
