It's great to see young people doing martial arts instead of just playing video games and browsing social media. Good test all.
Nah I was a world champion kids amateur and I went on my video games after
Better than most TKD black belt videos I have seen, Dave, down below, claims McDojo. How many people toss that word out when they mean, not my way so it is crap? I think, for what it was, it was rather good. No matter what these people put a lot of time, effort and money into their art, and I think they did very well. Remember not everyone has actual combat or self-defense in mind when they train a martial art, there are tons of reasons why someone trains, least of all fighting. One thing I try to tell anyone who is negative on a martial art video, If you think it is not good, or any other negative comment, make a video yourself, post it and show everyone why it wasn't good, and how you could improve on it. Show your better than thou attitude rather than just typing it. Most, if not all, wont and can not.
Thank you for your comment.
In my personal opinion, I always hated when parents and whoever else sits and watches a class when I'm trying to train, but I would especially be peeved if they were watching my black belt test or any of my lower belt tests. Go get yourselves a cup of coffee and come back in an hour or 2 LOL.
It shows that the instructor has some openness about what happens in the club.
That's no bad thing. There are too many martial arts clubs, with a closed, cult-like atmosphere, who operate behind closed doors.
Bad practices need to be called out, and an open door to parents, guests, or prospective students is a good sign.
Joong -gun before yul-gok? and also po-eun before kwang-gae? is there a reason why you don't do it in order?
Why not? Anyone on that degree should be able to do any tul in any order regardless the order. Could be done in purpose to confuse them and see if they are also "focused" and not just a choreography and movements "done by just been done"
@@nicoshafes Exactly that was my question, if there was a reason, but i don't they've got a good reason
Por qué no aplican la onda sinusoide en los tules ?
Fuck! Its the most of best piece of shit i was looking for.
❤
ITF Taekwondo is different. Traditional.
Excellent testing.

Why does the exam last so long ? I feel bad for the students . Especially the kata part. In other organisations , you need to show "only" 3 katas, one of them being your favourite one . Kata is extremely exhausting as it is .
And then you ask them to do all these techniques, with so many repetitions. Poor guys. In other organisations , they ask for 5 to 10 combinations with 3 to 5 reps.
So here you were basically testing endurance . There is no way they could deliver top notch quality techniques after more than 15 minutes of torture .
You remind me of testing done in some kyokushin organisations where they put the students through insane drills like 250 push-ups and 250 sit-ups , even though you could get a perfect score at the army physical test by doing "only" 80 reps each, and pass with "only " thirty .
Please look into making the test shorter, something like 30 minutes max. With less emphasis on sheer endurance .
I agree with the kata/tuls, I guess they could have requested the 3 tuls for 2nd Dan only and then 2 tuls for 1st Dan.
But I don't see that many repetitions for the techniques. It's mostly techniques that need to be shown left and right.
In ITF the exam typically consists of self made-up sajus, tuls, stepsparring, self-defence, sparring, breaking and some theory. Then, 30 minutes is too short for 4 participants.
Intermediate standard at best…move like wooden tops, really delusional to think this is black belt standard, it is very poor.
nice
turnament
thanks
Solid grading in my book, well earned!
Thank you for your comment.
Why is the video speed up when they do tuls?……
It's not. Perhaps you are referring to the Tuls being explosive? Tuls are often taught to be performed more slowly, nowadays for competition. That's not how we perform they - they are to be performed explosively, with intent.
Is it WTF or ITF?
ITF
@@gamerkiller1261that’s the one I do. I’m at blue belt 4th Kup currently.
Edit: now 2nd Kup red belt
ITF. You can see it written on the pants.
Nice philly shell.
Decent. These guys should work on footwork more. Crossing the feet at bad moments, etc.
Sine wave is just ridiculous, too. Amazing how this was propagated.
ITF TDK is way better than the impractical mess that is WTF sport TKD, but ITF TKD need to move on, back in 1985 we had Hee-il cho introducing ground fighting (hapkido) and BJJ into our TKD training in Ireland, but since then, overall, its not moved on one bit. Irish ITF format TKD is stuck in the traditional doldrums. The heavy emphasis on patterns, needs to be downgraded to optional, next get rid of the floor/punch up/keep turning my back to my opponent, floor fighting format, and shift to the ring. My path was ITF TKD-WTF TDK (for a while), then Mauy Thai, (Thailand) K1/BJJ. I look back at grading likes this, and they are still stuck back in 1980's. It's much easier to transition a good ITF practitioner to MT/MMA, than most WTF, but TKD needs to look towards towards MMA, and the sensible consolidation of all martial arts, to move into the future. The emphasis on courtesy integrity perseverance/self control, should be maintained, but the format/physical infrastructure of TKD needs to change, or TKD (both formats) will remain a mixed up/amateur semi effective traditional martial art. Good traditional IFT fighters, have potential to do very well n MAA competition, if TKD evolves to the ring, incorporates boxing/BJJ/MT techniques.
Sorry to say their kicks are awful. The technique is not there. I don’t know why they move backward
When doing those jumping kicks. I think it should be at the same place. Their jumping back kick are below the belt. Not good technique for someone who already got blackbelt and want to upgrade to 2nd Dan or higher.
But i appreciate their efforts in remembering all those patterns and instruction for sparring.
Looking forward to the videos of yourself or your students showing how good you all are. Taekwon
@@ConnachtTKD attack the person making the comment instead of addressing their comment..
@@markthemillthose students are actually a good standard as far as tkd is concerned, most black belts are useless and awarded for nothing.
@@scarred10 I agree
Kich high (like WTF tuls) does not mean good ones. In these tuls, the kicks are at the right level, according to the encyclopedia .
These kicks are ok but not good enough.
Judges sitting so sloppy, reeks of imposter judges
I guess I should qualify before commenting - I started training circa 1978 with Ernie Reyes West Coast Tae Kwon Do. Former instructor and demo team member. Please don't advance your students beyond a rank they have not yet earned. They will THINK they are black belts and end up getting hurt in the real world. I know girl scouts that are more dangerous than these guys. ATTENTION JUDGES!! Like a bad dog owner, it's YOUR fault they suck.
They don't suck at all.
Black belt exam doing four corner punches? It’s it for 9 th gup level? And why doing ducking bow?
GOD JESUS CHRIST IS COMING BACK AMEN ❤
I watched this grading and asked myself why am I surprised how bad it was. I want to point out that teaching self defense that does not work but also fails at the athletic level one would need to pull them off successfully . To the teachers , give your students their money back ,you would be laughed out of Korea .
Seriously? McDojo. All out of time/sequence during forms, all American thinking they need to speak Korean, arms out to the side during attention??? Btw, a black belt kicking with pointed toes is absolutely never, ever acceptable.Ever. That should be points off or fail and spoken to about why.
Looked fine to me. Looked way better than an average McDojo promotion and at least they meant to be respectful. I do wonder why they had their arms out during attention though…
I kind of agree.. take nothing away from these students they are working hard during this grading but the instructors need to be looked at.. I done TKD back in the 90s and the standers were much higher. Some of the kicks here are just awful technique.
Half agree, just a few points.
Yes everything’s out of time, but not everyone has to be in sync in some clubs, some are naturally quicker than others.
It’s not American it’s an Irish TKD club, and my club uses korean terminology when it comes to things like attention, bow ready or counting.
The reason for the arms out to the side during attention I don’t know, it’s ITF (international taekwondo federation) which is different to WT (World Taekwondo) which is the more recognised one. I
I do agree about the toes, but some clubs don’t take it as seriously as others.
That was a good grading well done to alli am taking my 4dan aikido soon hope I do as good as u 4
@@johncena12366 My friend, I have high ranking black belts in numerous arts, including several Korean arts...Tae Kwon Do through the WTF, Hap Ki Do, and Hwar Do. The sport and froo froo watered down competition/forms (poomse) versions may use pointed toes, but the legit martial and self defense (hard) version most certainly do not. You would break your feet or toes.

Back on the late 70s when I got my black belt, This kind of robotic wax luster form would have not advanced you anywhere. It's a typical taekwondo school if you put it in your time you get your belt no matter what the quality of your work is. Sad.
