    Another fun vid Dodger! I'm coming up on 4 years on my 2018 Versys X300 and still love it. After the upgrades for my 6' 3" frame and luggage, skid plate & crash bars, this is the perfect mini-ADV bike. Kawi hit a home run with this bike. Great commuter and after adding Mitas E07s I've done some pretty sketchy Jeep trails in SW Colorado. Within it's design parameters, I don't think there's a better bike. Reliable, handling is great and mileage is quite good! Thanks again!!!

      How do you mean you upgraded it for your 6.3 frame? You made it so you could extend your legs more? How? Thanks

      @@Frip36 Yes, for my legs and back! I'm 75 now and had back surgery a few years ago, so bike ergonomics are a must for me these days. My mods: 1. I installed 2" ROX PIVOTNG bar risers (just barely enough length in the control cables, but it works); 2. I lowered the foot pegs one inch (I forget the brand, maybe Motech?); 3. I raised the seat by simple putting on a layer of closed cell foam then covering that with a Mad Dog brand ATV seat pad, then adding a Sit-n-Fly brand seat cover over the whole thing, (also added a Sit-n-Fly to my Vstrom 650XT); That may not seem like a lot, but I stand fairly often for back relief, even if only a minute or two - but these mods made a huge difference in comfort. With lowered pegs and raised bars (up and back a bit) I don't have to lean over when I stand up (34" inseam). Makes a HUGE difference when standing - make the bike fit me like I were under 6' tall. One a trip from CO to Utah, I was way more comfortable. NOTE: the seat of the X300 sort of pushes you forward toward the tank, so I put thicker foam at the very front of the seat - helps some, need to do more... or shave off foam right behind my own rear end. Take care!

      ONE MORE THING: I added much wider foot pegs - give me much better stability when standing than the narrow factory foot pegs. The ones I bought simple replace the rubber insert. "Good riding!"

      @@GeezerWheelsThanks for that comprehensive breakdown. My legs get painfully cramped easily. Will save your methods. Cheers.

      @@Frip36 Your're very welcome! I love this bike and love to see others get set up for comfort and handling. I own a dirt bike (Husaberg FE390, now street legal), and a Suzuki Vstrom 650XT (great bike), but I still ride the X300 as often as any other. Light, easy to handle, great for mild off road/ forest service roads, etc. and I even rode the X300 on the TransAmerica Trail section from Silverton, CO to Moab, UT, and some milder off road trails near Moab. BTW, I also run Mitas E07+ tires. Excellent on and off road. BTW, what part of the country do you live in? (I'm in the hills near Durango, CO at 7550 ft elevation - 5 miles from the nearest pavement.) - GeezerWheels

    Looks like a great bike. Is it the original exhaust? :)

    • @DodgerMohr
      @DodgerMohr  4 місяці тому

      Yeah it is a great light lite weight touring bike, quite capable on dirt but yet not a dirt bike. I did put an after market slip on pipe, but found it too load on my long distance adventures. Thanks

  • @paulghrl

    What exhaust do you have? It definitely sounds better than the stock one.

      I put a Delcavic slip on but found it a bit loud on long trips, around town ideal.
