What does a broken pinion gear sound like? - Our diff broke!

After years of dutiful service Hans the rally car had it's first mechanical DNF at the last rally sprint of 2020. Our pinion gear decided it was time to shear some teeth off and in an instant our race was over. Ever wonder what a diff-failure sounds like in 3rd gear? Well here you go!

Yeah. That's the sound! The pinion and ring came uncoupled in my 90 GMC. I was only doing about 10MPH with no real load and it was LOUD! I was confused at first - couldn't think of what was turning fast enough to make that sound.
Driveshaft. Driveshaft was spinning away.

Did it broke loose near the wheel or inside the gearbox, scary noise
