I heard another song by Thanatopsis and I thought it was just Buckethead going for something mundane, which seemed weird to me. But this proves me wrong. Buckethead does anything perfectly.
A lot of credit is given to Buckethead, but Travis Dickerson should also be revered. I mean, the guy's like Buckethead on the Piano.
@Al Rodgers estoy totalmente de acuerdo con usted, Travis es un genio y entre genios pueden sacar música así.
so true. i was blessed to have a conversation years back with him about some of the sounds on Axiology, hes super nice and very very underrated.
02:44-02:50 it's just pure adrenaline..you can notice bucket was a music-creating-machine back in those days, even more than now!
i like a LOT thanatopsis, i just LOVE anatomize, i wonder if there's some other artist with this style, anyone knows one?
This music is just amazing. Even the title fits perfectly with the song.
Just search Wikipedia for "Pollyanna principle"
It's complex on so many levels, I love it.
Buckethead simply kick ass...
Kick ass song!
I know your comment is like super old, but I discovered Buckethead through Guitar Hero and I now listen to Praxis, Death Cube K (Bucket's alias), Thanatopsis, the Deli Creeps and I LOVE Interworld and the New Innocence / Animal Behaviour mixed within that song..
Are you suggesting you're more of a music LOVER because we discovered this musician through a different media?
This is nothing like me.... I never knew Buckethead was in Guitar Hero....
Ok, so I've been hearing the name "Buckethead" all over the place (this was about 3 years ago) and I decided to FINALLY click a youtube video to see what he/it was.... then I found out he was possible the best guitarist in the world. Then I got addicted to Guitar Hero, and found it Jordan was in Guitar Hero 2. I then just got so addicted to all his amazing songs.
Buckethead is my hero
i feel so happy
Am i really hearing this!?Omg i love it!
@speaker3600 No, we really don't. No one is that deserving except him. But sometimes we get things that are too good for us to have deserved.
So true!
althou i don't like death cube k, it's just 2 scary for me BUT a masterpice!
This is my favorite Thanatopsis song. It sucks that these guys aren't well known.
Ahh I just love it at about 2:40 when the other instruments fade out abit and Buckethead does his thing for several consecutive seconds that seem like an instant, it's sooo great :D. The 8 minutes feels like 2 min tbh.
thats discriminating to Buckethead
My name ^^
Wonderful.... Happy Birthday, Buckethead!
@ilikebeer Dude, no need to insult. I insulted no one in my comments. 95%? Where are you pulling this statistic from? The killswitch interlude existed, the solo and the aeolian scales did not. Therefore, the piece was not jordan. That is like saying that you liked a piece on forensic follies years before forensic follies came out: Xenochrony does not equal the same as a previous piece.
@BaconSquishy He can claim he liked the interlude piece but it was never Jordan before Guitar Hero because it was named and created FOR guitar hero! Before that it was just an untitled bridge in shows, as I have said above. He did the killswitch section then broke into POB.
@BaconSquishy Incorrect. he performed the killswitch section as an interlude alongside POB between songs. He never played the full version of the song "Jordan" as it was an untitled bridge. It was only for Guitar Hero that the version which featured the song "Jordan" as a full track was made.
@Sitrukpiano Im not sure i ever said anything about a full version merely that he played it live in one form or another which could be what the original comment could be referring to, either way its entirely feasible he heard it before guitar hero
@ricluvno304s Ummm, dude, how can you be a big fan of Jordan before Guitar Hero when it was written FOR Guitar Hero? Sure, I see that you appreciate Buckethead, just like me but don't lie in your comment.
exactly.. so fucking what.
it is the people that say "buckethead plays random notes" or "has no emotion" or "jordan is his best song" that they should be addressing, not people who found out through GH2
Buckethead is pretty damn busy, isn't he?
i dont mean they dont deserve to....is just that many people started that way...its not wrong..
lets just enjoy his music and be done with it
The drummer plays for Gateway Church in Austin, TX.
thats right a lot of people knew and started listening to buckethead 'cause of guitar hero...and i think buckethead didnt like that...
From 2:13 had been my ringtone for many years and i still love this whole jam album. If creators can still read this. Go on mates, you guys are still loved for your creativity.
@naneux what are Kevin's Noodle House, Bucket, and Brain?
well atleast Buckethead is pretty well known :D
you mean he has spiders for hands
I have uploaded Nostrum too.
@Sitrukpiano He could've just not heard the guitar hero version until like 3 years after it came out. But he could've heard it outside of guitar hero after the release, but before he knew it was on there.
@Sitrukpiano He was performing it live before he did the version for Guitar Hero
can anybody tell me where the track title is coming from ? thks
although an ardent fan i do have a grievance....he uses the same licks like one here i can recognise forgotten trail
ALL HONOUR TO MY BELOVED BUCKY DADDY___((*))___ FEATHER HUGS*
@BetterTasteThanU
Slash don't be mad,you are stil good ;)
Yeah Welcome to Bucketheadland !! lol
2:19 sounds like nottingham lace
My favourite album from buck'
I think its good they aren't well known, personally i don't think they made this music to " get known " or get views its all about the art of music.. and personally if i ever saw any of thanatopsis work on something like guitar hero or anything like that it just wouldn't be right keep this music underground so the people who do come across it can appreciate it more
Agreed. I've been listening to Buckethead for years and just discovered about Thanatopsis. If it were famous I wouldn't have been surprised by it. This music is not for everyone, not many people can understand how good it is and I don't blame them.
True... :D
It's been a long time..!
Buckethead...simply the best!!!!
this makes me cry. so beautiful.
