Everyone who says that Bucket can only shred and not play with any soul needs to hear this song, and the whole album while they are at it. Truly a great guitarist.
That synth solo or whatever at 3:50 is mindblowing
Buckethead is love, Buckethead is life!
This song just made everyone who listened to it a bit cooler.
the BWOMPBWONKBWAAUUMP
haha i love that bass this song is genius
love this whole thing, killswitch just sounds beastly
You are absolutly right.
He's an amazing shredder but he can do so much more things.
probably in the top ten buckethead songs list, love the sound, kinda reminds me of hendrix.
Nothing wrong with the man getting some more recognition. A lot more people are aware of Buckethead because of "Jordan" being in GHII and "Soothsayer" in part III.
anything buckethead does is golden
DAAAAAMN MY MAN BUCKETHEAD IS EVEN FUNKIER THAN I KNEW HE WAS!!!
such an amazing guitarist and song
I love the vibe. 😊❤
Extremely funky...... I love it !!!
Sounds like buckethead just discovered ElectroHarmonix pedals for the first time and found a place for them all in this tune. So damn funky.
that's funky''.
Yes. The only people who are drawn here by Guitar Hero are those making such remarks as "This should be in GH". Personally, I was alerted to him by word of mouth when I started playing guitar. "You should check out Buckethead--seriously, just search on UA-cam for "Buckethead." I do not remember what life was like before.
YES!
2:47-3:02! Love that part!!!!
The only difference is you don't fast foward to the end of a Buckethead song to get to the good part
@showbizandatexasg: This is the most soulful shit I've heard since Hendrix.
its not really a solo, but probably its his most "sophisticated" piece. Up there with the best of all funk jazz.
A big bowl of good green + this album = GOOD VIBES
Jeremy Priest hello Jeremy do you still enjoy this song?
Jeremy Priest hello Jeremy do you still enjoy this song?
i didn't just piss myself, i shat riffs
wavycap77 hahahahahahahahha lol
yea my fav too
Nice stuff great awesome Guitar , Nice slap bass(i think that its buckethead record it on his album) and nice drum and keyboard, all 4 for a GREAT SONG
buckethead got to be nomineed for rock and roll hall of fame
This has to be one of the best solos in rock history. For me, is in the same level of geniality that "Willie the Pimp" by Frank Zappa, another huge masterpiece
My trousers will never forget this song
True.
GROOVEEHHH!!
@j0ejack you named so many awesome bands that i may actually look forward to that yea more than any other year of my entire life!!!!!!! That is going to be one fucking epic year.
If buckethead wrote jazz fusion it would probly be some of his best music ever
Same here mate =)
i read an article by the makers of guitar hero, they recorded jordan over the phone and then played it at 1/8 time slowed down and sped up the song for the game. haha well i guess there isnt very many people who can nail that solo at full speed
If Buckethead ever makes it to Guitar Hero, we'll know the man behind the mask is dead.
does anyone know of any funky guitar jams similar to this, by buckethead or anyone else for that matter? love this song...
yes
lol yeah, the bass is so funky
totally!
Actually, this does sound like a soundtrack for a porn movie! Isn't that one more proof of BH's genius?! He's great at composing music for any emotional state: when you're blue, horny or when you feel like rampaging!
cool.
bad ass song i wish it had a name
Just epic. Fucking epic lol
yea im talking about the people who played it to put it on GH, they played it at 1/8 speed cause they couldnt play it any faster than that lol
soothsayer's awesome.. +1
@j0ejack fuck that year is going to be awesome..
i can play guitar but never took lessons and im playing it from the 3 to 5 fret which key is that?? i need to search a backing track like this
G major
Soothsayer is a DLC for Guitar Hero III. One of the more fun songs to play on that games crappy selection. I don't mind it at all.
@MegaBeast04 Thanks, I'll check it out.
pretty much all the deli creeps, oh and those parts in some songs where theres voices, like jowls! XD
@DrawinBlacLines
They consider this to be HIS number one solo on his separate list though
@DrewXGuitar A dream? I've done it FOR REAL!
Turn on the funk!!!
And no, Jordan is the only song in GH2 that was recorded by the original artist
Before you use words, you must learn how.
And yes, it appears it is obsolete.
@planesx12 And of course Hendrix
If you like this, check out Berts Lounge by Gary Hoey. Has the same hip vibe and tasty solos
this is #84 for the top 100 greatest rock solos according to Digital Dream Door, but Nottinglangham Lace is #17 :P
i listened to some other songs from this album, which is by far one of my favorites, and noticed the distinct keyboard sound of bernie worell, do you know if he helped out with this album?
one of the most sexiest songs ive ever heard! jesus!!
i watch both at the same time
This song is serious ear candy especially with head phones... but what Brian Carroll song is not ? :D
This should be in GH
i was reading guitar one magazine's top ten shredders of all time, and i was mad that bucket got 8'th. urned out to be kind of legit when i looked up the other guys though. except Rusty cooley. The dude rips it but there's no feeling. this song is why Bucket Should have been #1 on that list. This song and soothsayer
I'm so glad I swallowed before reading that.
And please consider the proper context of my comment. Sickos.
Dammit, Population Override is temporarily SOLD OUT at TDRS website..arghhhh!!!
No Xmas present for me! :(
I hear some Clapton and other 60s 70s sounds.
I'm hearing jimmy page influence
He recorded the solo for Jordan just for guitar hero :O
ive never heard this song before and i have a song of my own kinda similar lol. great minds think alike i guess.
I agree qwertyMason. Besides, I don't want people to know about Buckethead then have him become a sell out or something. That would piss me off so much.
Buckethead is irrepressible .... thankfully.
Where do u think the Jordan solo came from, he made that especially for guitar hero, i've never played it but i know Jordan is on it so your comment is absolete
@smkonwater23 Get it on amazon, its cheaper too.
@mikeface1 correction... population override is the best album ever...
@jevimetal13 perhaps there are both on this album?
Buckethead was the Navy SEAL that took the kill shot on Osama bin Laden....with his guitar.
Hum i'm asking if you heard Star chasing from Captain Eo's voyage ! If not listen it and make your top 10 again !
@stereodreamer23 So you have to play it wrogly to sound good?
The point about GH is that you sit there obeying the instructions from a computer - It literally has NOTHING to do with music. The only possible thing that can be said for it is that it might improve hand eye coordination a little bit. The reason it pisses musicians off is partly because they know how hard it is to master an instrument, but mainly it's because people are spending time playing this (terrible) game when they could be playing music and learning an instrument - FAR MORE FUN!!!
I think Bucket is best with funkadelic guitar.
wwwwwoooooowwwwwww coooolio
@JonnyYang123, when did he get nominated?
sanctum?
This song is alright.. I like A Day Will Come / Too Many Humans more
@jAkE13night LMAO!!!!!!
i think he uses an envelope filter
@showbizandatexasg Man check out his animal behavior/transmutation 5 videos they're amazing. You can't just say Buckethead has no soul
@planesx12 eddie hazel
population override is one of buckethead's best albums.
oh yeah part 4:00 - 4:45 is fuckin isainly cute i still love you baby
Does anyone else detect a slight undertone of old funk somewhere in this one?
Did BH play bass on this too?
i agree, i play blues guitar and its way more fun than guitar quero. BTW im 16 if any youtube ladies wanted to do anything.
buckethead has nice feet.
lol it sounds like les claypool's bass
@IAmTheCthulhu Come on, tell the truth, don't you always feel like that anyways?
I know I do.
Anyone got high and had a dream they were planting potatoes on miles of soil and doing it at the speed of christ?
No. Had he not been in Gutiar Hero, it would have been better.
@rjsny350 lol
