One thing I wish I had was a mentor growing up. Thankful for these adults who stepped in to help him.

I do. When I go to visit a sick friend at a hospital, when I go to the laundromat and wait for my clothes to dry. When I went to a dealership and was waiting for the financial dept to close the sale. When I am leaving Walmart I grab a coke to drink on the way home. Etc etc.
That sounds like a good business.

Amazing! That's what school doesn't teach you. We are equipped to be salary earners and small cogs in the machine by the education system. Time to break the vicious cycle!

your name indicates you live in southern california, if so I'd strongly suggest planting as many fruits as you can, trees, bushes, vines etc, you'd be surprised how many fruit can start fruiting within 2-5 years, plus this is one of just two states in USA where we can grow tropical and subtropical fruits without a greenhouse, look inti a food forest or fruit tree guilds, mangos, banana, lychee, soursop, plums, peaches, berries of all types, forget the lawn, get free food and sell the rest, plus raise property value via fruit trees and have better air and free shade in the heat.
even a quarter of an arce is mooooore than enough, work with whatever you have.
don't forget neem oil, bird netting, shade cloth, individual fruit protection bags, fencing etc.
even better if you have a denydrator or freeze dryer, but even a blender and slow masticating slow will do,fresh fruit, fruit juices and smoothies for sale right there.
even if you don't own the house no problem, grow in pots, most plants can manage ,then sell sell sell until you can buy the house or een move to nicer places in cali....or florida,to keep growing fruit.
try papaya, pomegranate, blackberry pie fruit ,lemonade fruit(yes it's real), sugar apple etc, your kid will love them and make a profit.
check daleys fruit and top tropical to start.

Kid have no real expenses like Rental, electric, water, phone, food and etc.. and they can sell things easier during the start so they can double way easier then an adult

LOL COME ON! This is one of the simplest entrepreneurial moves out there. My friend, who dropped out of high school, started with this as his first business. The concept is straightforward: buy a vending machine, get permission from a property owner to place it on their premises in exchange for a share of the profits, and then refill the machine regularly. It's a low-effort way to earn some extra income.
What’s really surprising is how some people react to this, acting like it’s groundbreaking just because a kid is involved. It’s almost as if the expectation is so low that anything beyond playing video games or doing nothing is seen as extraordinary. This reaction says more about the diminished expectations we have for kids than about the entrepreneurial effort itself. It's no wonder people in their 30s are freaking out over "adulting".

actually this is depressing. He is a kid. He should be doing kid things not juggling businesses and being put on blast for his mom being a single mom. This is another "children yearn for the mines" Hopefully the kid isn't burnt out before 18.
