If I need connect a tooling with different ip addresss than plc . Let's say tooling have scanner, cameras, sensors ,pneumatic block ,ios everything with ip 192.20.20.xx but the plc is 192.168.1.1 with Gateway 192.168.1.2 I cannot change ip addresses tooling because should run in different lines. What can I do for plc 192.168.1.xx be able to recognize the tooling with devices 192.20.20.xx?

I have a stratix 5700 that I'm trying to setup the smartport roles. Everything works fine for the automation devices and multiport devices and desktop for automation, but when I set the switch connected to our enterprise network, I get all types of error message and I always have to set it back to default settings. I've checked the Spanning Tree Protocol and it's correct.... I used "switch for automation" for this setup. Should I have been using Router for Automation because it's a layer 3 switch with routing capabilities?

So the default settings right out the box is “None”?. I had to rewatch the video again as I was getting confused in thinking Smartports was a setting option for the ports but it’s actually a smart configuration setting in which you assign a role setting to each port . Is there any reason to lock down the other non utilized ports for security reasons? Which role would that be?

I had a Cisco Network Guru tell me to set all ports utilizing automation devices (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, etc.) to "Multiport Automatiom Device" except for managed switches - set managed switches (NOT unmanaged switches) to "switch for Automation".
If you change the smart role mode later, the previous mode will not be deleted. This too can be a problem. As the video says, you must configure switch to proper smart port configuration right out of the box. I have had to reinitialize the switch to default settings several times before getting switch configured properly. I hope this helps.
