If I need connect a tooling with different ip addresss than plc . Let's say tooling have scanner, cameras, sensors ,pneumatic block ,ios everything with ip 192.20.20.xx but the plc is 192.168.1.1 with Gateway 192.168.1.2 I cannot change ip addresses tooling because should run in different lines. What can I do for plc 192.168.1.xx be able to recognize the tooling with devices 192.20.20.xx?
Great video Vlad, if I already have a Stratix 5700 installed from an integrator and they did not label what IP address they gave it, how would I be able to access the web page for the switch?
if we need to connect to PLC and HMI and other devices which have their on IP addresses, do we need to assign each port for them or the switch will work to communicate with them as long as the assigned IP address of the switch is in the same network with the rest of the devices? when we need to assign a gateway address ? thx
In a basic setting, the devices should have their own IP addresses and the switch will just make it work. As the network becomes more complex, you'll need a default gateway to route between networks, you may need additional protocols to manage traffic and connectivity to the outside world, etc.
Thank you for the answer. Just to make sure I got it right. If we just put the switch in the same network by giving it a new IP address, it will work like an unmanaged / open switch?
They are slightly different. The 5700 is a highly rugged in-machine switch. The 8000 is an expandable switch with distributed network options. It depends on your application, but in general, if it's a machine or a small area, I'd choose the 5700. If it's plant wide network, I'd use the 8000; you can add more ports to it with extension modules as needed.
I went to a customer to upgrade their CompactLogix PLC and noticed their Stratix 5400 20 port basically running out-of-box mode. I don't know much about managed switched, but I logged in and didn't notice any changes. Unless I missed something. It appears to be a $3k unmanaged switch from my point of view. What are some settings I should check to confirm that in fact it is unmanaged?
Hi, Vlad you have good contents, can you specially introduce the network for the plc system, that is main issues for me to work on it. Thank you! Allen
Hey Joe, what do you have in mind for the network? I believe that I have a few videos on the Stratix switches. Are you looking for general concepts on networks or how to build something specific?
@@SolisPLC thanks for reply. What i meant was u used that configuration switch for selecting switch 1. Do i again need to use configuration switch for selecting switch 2?
@@SimplifyIt02 Once you configured the first port, you can use the web interface to configure the others. During the setup it's important to configure one port in order to gain access to the switch; afterwards, you should use the web interface as shown and configure the rest.
Great content! Can’t wait for the follow-up video :)
Hi Vlad. Excellente video. Props to you. Dou you have more videos about Stratix switches?
Ing a question if I want to add a ewon what port role should it take?

Very good job!
Great video. Great instruction .cant wait for the next videos.....maybe if you can include a more complex network with remote io, subnets and vlans
Very informative video...keep working...we are waiting for your videos.

Hi Vlad,
I need your opinion on which device is better.. the 5700 or the 8000?

I would start by looking at SmartPort assignments. To be frank with you, most of these that I see in the field are set up that way: unmanaged.

Please how do you now login into an already configured Stratix 5700 by another user knowing the switch IP Address?
Fantastic .
Please make a video on FT batch
I need to change the ethernet port how would i do it.
What do you mean by "change the ethernet port"? Move the cable to another port? Change IP? Reconfigure a port?

How to configure this as firewall
These switches do not have a firewall. Only the 5950 series Stratix.
What's is level access 15? User name a and password?
You literally don't respond to anyone
I do what I can.
