I was just thinking about that, and the difference here is that it was just him and Ego with no immediate stakes or plans going on, so acting out against him didn't affect the final outcome significantly. Meanwhile with Thanos there was a set plan (Peter's plan) that got ruined because of his actions which he should have known wouldn't do much to Thanos himself (punching him as opposed to shooting Ego). I also think, though, that if they got the gauntlet from Thanos they still could have lost and been more screwed because Tony would likely have died in that scenario, so Peter lashing out doesn't upset me as much as I know it does others.
People are constantly blaming Quill for half the universe getting snapped but he wasn't even the problem; Gamora was. She knew for a FACT that she was the only person in existence who knew where the Soul Stone was. She couldn't go hide in some dark corner of the universe or anything because Thanos would teleport to her with the Space Stone. So the only option to save the universe was to commit suicide. Not tell Quill to "kill her if Thanos gets her." You can argue that obviously, she didn't want to die, and that's fair enough. But she went to Knowhere, knowing she's the only person in existence to know the Soul Stone's location, which is incredibly stupid and the whole reason Thanos had won at the end of Infinity War.
That last extra scene with Stan always gets me since he passed on. "I have so many more stories to tell." We know you did Stan and we can only be grateful for the ones you gave us in the time that we had you and sit back in wonder about the ones that should have been. We love you Stan. Rest in Peace.
Peter was literally raised by Yondu so him being his father makes total sense, Rey barely even knew the skywalkers and then claimed to be part of their family. There is no hypocrisy
@@woo545 Yes. You are describing the difference between an creative head who has vision and a direction for their interconnected story and an executive producer who is relying on individual directors with contradictory views of the direction and themes of the story they are collectively trying to tell. Having one director lost in nostalgia and fan service and another who revels in being a contrarian deconstructionist is a fantastic way to make a chaotic mess out of an IP.
Maybe the "hypocrisy" thing about Rey vs Peter is that they spend two movies establishing precedent about Quill's and Youndu's relationship. You can see he cares about him in the first movie, and they further explore Yondu's flaws in the second movie. Rey never seemed to care about Luke and Luke never seemed to care about Rey. Luke's epiphany occurs without Rey being involved at all. He's told by Yoda as a ghost. Rey and Luke were never that close. It was simply master and apprentice relationship. The dumb thing in RoS is that it was never about Rey looking for a family. It was more about her looking for a place in the universe. Everything meaningful in the family idea occurs off screen. She only spends time with Leia briefly in the movies. VERY end of TFA and only one full training scene in RoS. Ultimately, that's why Rey (who I generally liked as a character) claiming to be a Skywalker feels forced. She never really had a meaningful relationship with these characters that the audience can see. The entirety of Guardians 2 is about learning to exist and come to terms with different family dynamics.
Exactly, it would be more fitting for her to say just Rey. That would have been a better arc for her because that felt more like what they were building up to in the previous films.

@@Nai_101 you’d think. The sequel trilogy suffers from a lack of overall direction and cohesion where things like Rey thinking Luke Skywalker was a myth (plausible due to the Galaxy being gigantic and her being an orphan from a young age on Jakku) to suddenly feeling like a skywalker to the point of taking their name by episode 9 feels unearned and cheap compared to this movie. If throughout episode 8 and 9 we see her bond deeply with Luke and Leia and maybe their deaths are more closely connected with her directly we’d understand the emotional attachment she would have. Instead they fixated on her parentage, her bond with Kylo Ren, and then of course the shoehorned-in tie to Palpatine. All of these things could have been avoided with better script writing but we got what we got. Disney needed a Kevin Feige for Star Wars but they had no one. Hopefully Filoni will provide more peace freedom justice and security to his new empire.
Han quickly felt fatherly to Rey, and Leia trained Rey for a year. That's the most parenting Rey's ever gotten. Was it set up perfectly? No. But let Rey have this. Let's just move on.
People didn't like the Rey Skywalker thing because they didn't feel that the "family abandonment" plotline wasn't as pronounced as it is in GOTG 2. It's only brought up in like 3 scenes throughout the entire trilogy, so when she comes to that conclusion, it didn't feel like she NEEDED a family, from a character development standpoint. Whereas, in this movie from the opening scene to the last, the entire subplot is about Peter trying to connect with his "father figure". If you removed the Rey Skywalker scene from RoS, it wouldn't really change the feel of the movie, whereas Yondu and Quill's relationship is the emotional payoff of the whole movie. It's not really hypocrisy, because if it was actually done better in Star Wars, people would also love it like they do in GOTG 2.
yeah, agree with this. and even then, Luke or Leia never seemed to be a father/mother figure to Rey, maybe Leia, but they almost have no scene portraying this other than maybe the training scenes at the beginning of TRoS. So TRoS making it seem as if Rey had to adopt a new family after killing her grandfather seemed just tacked on at the end.
All true, but to be fair I think Disney mistreated star Wars from the get go. Rey was a social political statement just as much as Ghostbusters 2016 was. "She awesome because she's a girl. No explanation needed." She can use Force abilities on her first attempt that even Well trained Jedi Masters struggle with "because she's a girl." At some point attention to detail was thrown out in favor of "how much money can we sponge off these simps??" mentality. And well Star Wars payed for it as NO ONE like the trilogy and wish we could erase the whole thing from existence.
@@patrickcromwell7554 Stop blaming disney, the new star wars had nothing to do with disney ruining them, it was kathleen kennedy who ruined it and she was appointed by george to take over from him, but yeah blame for the shit that is the sequals lays with kathleen, also disney were happy to take a hands off approach with lucasfilms until kk ruined it then disney had to start stepping in
The difference between Rey and Star-Lord being that in Star-Lord's case it's understandable and feels totally natural that he would consider Yondu his father since they spend so much time together, the dude fucking raised him. Regarding Rey that's not the same story at all. Ok, Luke trained her a little bit, she respects him and his sister, the path they chose etc. but her considering herself as part of their family is kind of far fetched which is not surprising at all given that they flew totally blind while making that trilogy (therefore there was no forshadowing at all about this " I'm a Skywalker " stunt).

I think the difference between Rey and Peter is that Rey was only with Luke for maybe a week so it does not feel earned at all for her to call herself a Skywalker. Particularly when Luke wanted nothing to do with her for most of that time.
Surely she was with Leia for quite some time as well? I don’t necessarily disagree with what you’re saying but it’s important to remember that Leia was a Skywalker too.

My counter argument about the Rey ‘Skywalker’ vs Peter Udonta, is that with Rey, they didn’t show her with the Skywalkers much, they didn’t show her with a deeper history/connection, like they did with Peter and Yondu. With Peter and Yondu, it’s obvious that they have a deeper and longer history, making the fact that Peter sees Yondu as his chosen dad more believable. With Rey, she practically just met the Skywalkers and suddenly decided to take on their last name? No, I would have preferred her to use Palpatine as one last fuck you to Palpatine, and make the name a legendary name for the light instead of the dark. Hell, I’d have preferred her to use Solo since she seemed to have a stronger bond with Ben and Han, Luke just verbally abused her for the most part... 😑 (Even Organa would have been better!!)
@@Dragonage2ftw She lived in a Resistance base for a year, mostly training while Leia had leadership duties to attend to, and if they did hang out more than a little, the movies didn't show us this. Good storytelling needs proof or believable insinuation, there was none for Leia and Rey being close enough for her to take her BROTHER'S name. If she was so close to Leia, wouldn't she have taken the name Organa instead? They had her take the name that was widely known to be LUKE'S, not Leia's.
Also, Peter feels like Yondu is his father figure but he doesn't change his name to Udonta, he's Quill for his mother and wouldn't change it, Rey should've had the same, she might see the Skywalker/Solo family as hers, but she's her own character, maybe being Rey Solo would be more interesting and fair as she did kiss Ben Solo, they had a more developed relationship (mostly because of The Last Jedi) and she had more of a bond with Han in The Force Awakens, Leia and Rey had like one scene for each movie and they didn't really felt that close to the point that Rey sees her as a mother. Same with Luke, he's her master for a bit but spends the whole movie scared to then fight Rey and after force proyecting to fight Kylo Ren and affirming Rey as the Last Jedi, he dies alone, not really father figure material for her to take the Skywalker name. With Peter Quill and Yondu there's more scenes to show their complicated relationship as unrelated father and son that argue a lot (kinda like in Ant Man with Hank and Hope), and as it connects with the main plot of Ego, it doesn't come out of nowhere like the Rey reveal at the end of the last movie, she was shown to be a nobody to then be a Palpatine and after killing him she takes the Skywalker name, it's a weird plot without enough development on screen.

From my perspective, Rey Skywalker doesn’t work because she only knew Luke for like two days and she barely interacted with Leia on screen. With Peter and Yondu however we see time and again that they have a real bond and kinship with one another before Yondu’s death, and on top of that Yondu did literally raise Peter since he was a child. It’s not the idea I have a problem with, it’s the difference of execution

I feel like it’s much better written in this. We see the flashbacks of their relationship and have already seen it and he grew up with Yondu. Rey knew two skywalkers for like a few years maybe? And, she didn’t even get along with one of them Also, there’s a difference between calling yourself family with someone and randomly taking their last name. Holden made the comparison to Fast & Furious. That’s all about family, but to my knowledge, no one ever takes Dom’s last name instead of their own
I really don't understand comparing Rey and Peter in that sense, and calling people hypocrites for liking one and not the other. One is the main core of the film, and builds upon the previous movie. The other is barely hinted at for 2 movies, and comes at the final line in a trilogy, naratively saying that the entire trilogy was building to this moment. It felt tacked on purely for fanservice, and try to make the character more appealing to the old fans. Unless you're looking at it purely in a bullet point style list, I don't see how you can compare the two, and say it's hypocritical.
I think that TROS comparison is a really poor one. The problem with Rey being a Skywalker is that she worked under one in the Resistance, fought one to the death twice, and studied under one for two days. She's not close enough to that family to take their name
Reason Yondu being Peter's "father" is something that's well liked is because it a) makes sense in the context, b) has been slightly hinted at with how many times Yondu has protected Peter from his Ravagers and c) the movie is actually good :P Rise of Skywalker is actual dogshit. Rey not being a Skywalker but choosing to be in the end had no emotional connection whatsoever for the audience because the movie was so horribly written, and nothing was set up to support it. We were already blindsided with her being a Palpatine that her suddenly deciding at the very end "no, I'm a Skywalker", didn't really illicit much response. On top of that, it wasn't Peter that decided Yondu is his father. It was Yondu acknowledging that he had cared for Peter and raised him his entire life (despite the probably numerous abusive things that happened... but the group is called the Ravagers... not the cuddlybears lol). Rey on the other hand decided herself that she was a Skywalker rather than Luke or Leia for instance saying to her that one of them felt like a parent. Idk... I don't really see it as hypocrisy if you take into account the context. If you look at it surface level, black and white, maybe... but if you look any bit into it, not at all.
One of the best lines in the MCU was Nebula saying, " You were the one who wanted to win. And *I* just wanted a sister!" This movie is all about family and a family is what you make of it. Karen Gillan is such a great actress. Sylvester Stallone didn't have a lot of lines, but he really delivered. First time I saw this movie I didn't like it as much as the first. Over time this movie has gotten better and better. I love Guardians of the Galaxy, but this is a rare exception where the sequel us better than the original. Michael Rooker who plays Yondu Udonta always steals any movie he is in. This movie that makes use of character reflections, too. Yondu and Rocket is a great example. Yondu reflects back at Rocket, "I know who you are boy, because you're me."
I was surprised Jen didn’t enjoy the first Guardians movie. I loved the humor! Especially Drax’s and Star Lord’s! 😂 But her love for Groot made up for it!😄👏🏻
I've always been indifferent to GOTG. I think it's OK. It obviously got the humor down, but it's just not overall one of my favorites. It doesn't compare to the Iron Man, Captain America, or Avengers movies, to me.
For the Rise of Skywalker comment, I believe that a lot of people didn’t like the « Rey Skywalker » moment because it didn’t felt earned, at least to a lot of people. I know some people love to hate on the SW sequels and become obsessed with every little flaws, but I don’t think that’s the case for this, in guardians, you actually see them work like a team, develop relationships and care for each other. In the Star Wars Sequels, maybe Luke became a bit closer to Rey, Leila too, but not as close as seeing her like a daughter, or at least it was poorly shown. So I don’t think it’s hypocrisy, people don’t hate the idea, they hate the execution. But great video as always, can’t wait to see the next reactions!
And then we have the fact that Rey didn't really even have any likeable qualities and her motivation is all over the place. Maybe that's just me, but Rey as a character completely failed to catch my interest. There was basically nothing I actually wanted to know about her.
@Legend X 600 I hate the sequel, but I try to see why some people might like some parts of it, and sometimes, you can’t lie, the Star Wars fandom is very extreme and toxic, that was what I was referring to. If you hate the movies and can talk about it rationally, then yeah all power to you friend! I actually think RoS is the worst Star Wars movie and I was facepalming while in the movie theater, but I can respect Holden’s opinion. Some fans will call you a heretic if you dare to not 100% agree with them. And that is sad.
@Legend X 600 I said I think RoS is the worst Star Wars movie. I hate this movie so much. My point is a large part of the fandom throws personal attacks and go on full rampage as soon as someone doesn’t absolutely hate those movie, and that’s pathetic (not saying that’s your case btw). Having discutions about what the movie could have done to improve or save itself is interesting, calling someone names because they do not agree with you is dumb. That is my point.
@@Dead25m I don’t love Rey as a character either, but I think our standards for movies have also gone up, bc it’s not like Luke was a super interesting or deep character in the original trilogy either. I do think Luke’s character was at least more consistent, but it was pretty basic still imo
@Legend X 600 Disney definitely screwed up on the sequels no doubt, but I feel like they could’ve done a lot better if they just had a consistent story line with consistent directors and writers. Force awakens overall I thought was fine, last Jedi was okay, but after watching RoS it feels like JJ Abrams wanted to do a different story line but Rian Johnson did his own thing with TLJ, so then JJ essentially tried to rush the plot back to where he originally intended. Like maybe he had a different vision for TLJ where there is a better build up for Palpatine’s return and there is a different relationship built between Rey and Kylo that would explain their (dumb) kiss at the end of RoS better
The difference between Peter and Rey is that Peter grew up with Yondu and Rey knew Luke and Leia for a minute. And even tough we don't actually see Yondu and Peter's relationship from the beginning, we can tell they are relly close just by watching them interact. They act like family. We only see Rey talk to Luke for a week and their relationship is not the best... and then we see her interact with Leia just three times! I wasn't totally sold on their 'family feelings' at all. But of course I love Star Wars anyways :)
This movie is great for the "I'm Mary Poppins" line alone, but that Daddy line and funeral scene fuck me up every time. Making this movie top 5 mcu for sure
For me it's not that Rey isn't a Skywalker, it's just that the whole movie was about Rey coming to grips and accepting who she was. Only for the end to be like, nope I'm a Skywalker.

Family are the people you can draw comfort from and accept you as you are. If that family is comprised of people you met along life's journey rather than a family you were born into, it does not diminish what they represent to you.
I think the issue people had with Rey was the fact that the general story beats would've led most people to believe that one of the critical aspects of the trilogy was about accepting where you come from regardless of what your last name is, meaning that she could have said nothing (which would have confirmed that she doesn’t need to be known as anything other than Rey) or she could have said Palpatine (which indicates that she might accept where she came from without allowing that to dictate who she is thereby and through her actions redeeming the Palpatine line including her parents who as far as we know didn't want anything to do with the emperor and his schemes) at least that's how I viewed the reveal 😅 , but then again I've probably put more thought into this than any of the star war execs did at the time
@@MRocky323 I never complained about it, just explained that those are the reasons why it doesn't seem to fit the story they're telling, I don't particularly care if she's a skywalker or not, but that's not what the story beats so far would lead you to believe 🤷🏽♂️

Thing about rise of Skywalker Rey Hasn't earned the right to consider herself a skywalker. She knew Luke for a few days, Leia who is technically an organa or a Solo for what seems like a year, and it never seems like either are "Family" to her.
Fun fact about GotG V2, it's the first Hollywood movie to be filmed with 8K resolution, which means it uses four times the pixels of high definition. It looks beautiful!
When you first compared Starlord and Yondu to Rey calling herself a Skywalker I immediately thought "The situation is completely different. Peter was raised by Yondu and Rey was already grown when she met Luke and Leia and only knew them for a fraction of the time." But then I thought about it a bit more and honestly it does make sense. From what I know she had no surrogate family or even friend's growing up what so ever... And though she didn't know Luke long she spent a lot of time training with Leia and I can see how her longing for family could make that connection. Now whether people feel it was earned is an entirely different question. I personally like Rise Of Skywalker but have many many issues with it that mainly come from the fact that nothing was planned. Thanks for the great take, you should make more videos on your thoughts about franchises and characters cause you've already given me a different perspective.
To Holden's point, I'm not mad at Rey for declaring she's a Skywalker because I don't think found families are a thing. I dislike that story element because it felt like the films destroyed the actual Skywalker family (Ben Solo) and treated him kinda terribly. If he had lived and Rey wanted to call herself a Skywalker, I don't think I'd be nearly as upset. Instead, he not only dies, but basically gets no lines of dialogue after his redemption. The film doesn't feel like it honors or understands the Skywalker legacy, and so Rey claiming that family feels unearned and hollow.
They had Adam Driver and didn't know what to do with him 🤦♀️ Imbeciles. I doubt he will ever return for the role cuz of how his character was treated. Look at the success Lokis show has. Even getting a 2nd season. Feige knew Tom is a gold mine and used it and it was GLORIOUS
Wow Holden nice of you to share that little personal information tidbit at the end! Everyone has a past and their own emotional baggage, you should be proud for the cool dude you became (At least how you present yourself in the videos :p)
a bit of background for those not in the know: The Golden Lady at the end who said she was naming her "creation" as "Adam". Adam is the character named Adam Warlock in the comic books. In the Infinity Gauntlet series, Adam Warlock is actually the entity that saves the Universe. Adam in conjunction with Thor, Dr Strange and if i recall, the Hulk, all end up being the most directly responsible characters for defeating Thanos. The movies get away with not showing much of the background action in the "Infinity War" by rationalizing that the audience experiences largely what they would if it really happened: The audience couldnt see all of the cosmically powered stuff that defeated Thanos.
So is Homecoming next? Really interested to see what her thoughts are about the character, since obviously she only really knew Tobey and didn't really get much in Civil War
People didn't like Rey claiming she's a Skywalker because it didn't feel earned. It wasn't because she was a Palpatine. If it felt more earned it actually would have been a moving moment.

I think the reason The Rise Of Skywalker’s last name change didn’t work is because we had just watched three movies crap on the legacy of the Skywalkers, only to have the most uninteresting character in the movie claim to be one. Also, the Skywalkers never raised Rey in any significant way, Luke tickled her with a stick for five minutes once.
"Crap on the legacy of the skywalkers" Or show that they should stop being the most/only important family in the fucking universe. Typical sequel haters.
@@MRocky323 I have no problem with showing that they shouldn’t be the focus of everything- my problem was that they discarded entire characters to fit a mold of a plan they didn’t even have. Luke spends so much time certain that Darth Vader, the most evil dude literally ever, can be redeemed and he is rewarded for that belief, not punished. Then, for no reason at all he is made into a guy who would literally murder his sister’s child because he might have some dark inclinations. That just makes no sense character-wise. If Darth Vader had never been redeemed and Luke had paid a price for believing there was good in him, I totally get it but that didn’t happen...
@@Emeraldnite-if7vo it doesn't upset me as much either but I do get the annoyance behind it
Same
People are constantly blaming Quill for half the universe getting snapped but he wasn't even the problem; Gamora was. She knew for a FACT that she was the only person in existence who knew where the Soul Stone was. She couldn't go hide in some dark corner of the universe or anything because Thanos would teleport to her with the Space Stone. So the only option to save the universe was to commit suicide. Not tell Quill to "kill her if Thanos gets her."
You can argue that obviously, she didn't want to die, and that's fair enough. But she went to Knowhere, knowing she's the only person in existence to know the Soul Stone's location, which is incredibly stupid and the whole reason Thanos had won at the end of Infinity War.
its his fault everyone died.

We know you did Stan and we can only be grateful for the ones you gave us in the time that we had you and sit back in wonder about the ones that should have been. We love you Stan. Rest in Peace.
Peter was literally raised by Yondu so him being his father makes total sense, Rey barely even knew the skywalkers and then claimed to be part of their family. There is no hypocrisy
They didn't do enough to sell the idea.
I was gonna say pretty much the same thing. The difference is that one is well written to set up that relationship
I still don’t completely hate JJ Abrams though because I do like the newer Star _Trek_ movies.
And took their last name
Precisely! This was explained beautifully!

@@kalvin. wouldn't literally EVERYONE know who the guy is who saved the galaxy just 20 years ago?
Yup. Real simple. One was tacked on to try and please fans, the other is one of the main themes of the film.
Agreed 100%, that and in literally the same movie, Rey is told to never be afraid of who she is, yet she changes her name from Palpatine to Skywalker

She lived with Leia for like a year.

Exactly
Well said.
I think that TROS comparison is a really poor one. The problem with Rey being a Skywalker is that she worked under one in the Resistance, fought one to the death twice, and studied under one for two days. She's not close enough to that family to take their name
It comes down to execution that people got annoyed about not just that it happened
I really enjoyed the discussion at the end of this video, especially about how your friends can be closer than family for a lot of us
"where is Thanos?" We are in the endgame now
Reason Yondu being Peter's "father" is something that's well liked is because it a) makes sense in the context, b) has been slightly hinted at with how many times Yondu has protected Peter from his Ravagers and c) the movie is actually good :P
Rise of Skywalker is actual dogshit.
If you look at it surface level, black and white, maybe... but if you look any bit into it, not at all.
.
It’s about legacy in Star Wars and not who raised someone the longest.
The scene where Drax talks to Mantis about his family always makes me cry 😔
One of the best lines in the MCU was Nebula saying, " You were the one who wanted to win. And *I* just wanted a sister!"
This movie is all about family and a family is what you make of it.
But her love for Groot made up for it!😄👏🏻
I've always been indifferent to GOTG.

Watching Jen explode at the cuteness of Baby Groot is an early highlight of this watch, if you ever do an anniversary montage, that should definitely be in there.
This has to be my 2nd favorite film of the franchise, right after Endgame. It does so much right thematically for me, though I am admittedly a sucker for familial themes. And still no other movie has nearly moved me to tears as much as this one did at Yondu's funeral.
I love that everytime holden tells her some info or reference, she's got no clue what he's talking about. Just stares blankly at him. I can totally relate with my girl too. Lol
The GOTG style intro music is under appreciated!
I KNOW, I HAVE TO GO AWAYYYYYY.. tears pouring down my face every damn time even without watching the whole movie just seeing that part was enough to set me spiraling
I think it’s because Skywalker is an iconic name that really means something and people didn’t like that she could just take it
Honestly this is my favorite MCU movie, it’s emotional and I really love the themes the movie incorporated. I also just really love all the character moments and the fact that they were able to have this big universal threat while still keeping it personal
Thing about rise of Skywalker Rey Hasn't earned the right to consider herself a skywalker. She knew Luke for a few days, Leia who is technically an organa or a Solo for what seems like a year, and it never seems like either are "Family" to her.
She literally attacked Luke lol
Luke gave her permission though

This series is the best and one of my favorites in youtube currently! upload moaaaaaaaaar! Cant wait for her to get to infinity Saga
You killed my mother scene is one of my favorite
Fun fact about GotG V2, it's the first Hollywood movie to be filmed with 8K resolution, which means it uses four times the pixels of high definition. It looks beautiful!
Ego: i'm a celestial, basically a god!
The Good Hunter: hold my blood vial.
Guardians really has the best music in the MCU so many classic soundtracks
Yondu's death fucked me up so much when this movie first came out.
PHHTTT SAMEE. it broke my mental health. I could noooottttt
This movie is an improvement to the first film hands down!
Ehhh
Nah GOTG 1 is a top 5 MCU movie the second one is good but just not on the same level
Only mcu movie to make me cry lol
Not even close to the first one
@@lukemurry9811 the 2nd is better emotionally speaking also need a second viewing to enjoy it more.
But yeah the 1st one is better to me
a bit of background for those not in the know: The Golden Lady at the end who said she was naming her "creation" as "Adam".
Can't wait for Homecoming!!!
I have been waiting the whole day for this!!! Finally its here!!
So is Homecoming next?
Really interested to see what her thoughts are about the character, since obviously she only really knew Tobey and didn't really get much in Civil War
Jen with her best Thor impression "bring me THANOS" 🤣🤣 poor child doesn't know what's she asking for lol
You really need "Everyone has their bad days" merch.
with Anakin killing younglings
So from the last convo all I got was that we’re all family now for watching these movies along with them 🙌🏽
Jen's representing Vikings out here
Ikr😐
I'm sorry but that family picture behind Jen in the intro is fucking adorable. I love you guys
People didn't like Rey claiming she's a Skywalker because it didn't feel earned. It wasn't because she was a Palpatine. If it felt more earned it actually would have been a moving moment.
One of my personal favorite MCU movies. After this released on blu ray I literal watched it every Friday for 6 months. This is one of the movies I have watched the most ever
Holden, could you do a "My friend watches invincible for the first time" I think Matt and Jenn would like it
Absolutely

I think the reason The Rise Of Skywalker’s last name change didn’t work is because we had just watched three movies crap on the legacy of the Skywalkers, only to have the most uninteresting character in the movie claim to be one. Also, the Skywalkers never raised Rey in any significant way, Luke tickled her with a stick for five minutes once.
"Crap on the legacy of the skywalkers"
Or show that they should stop being the most/only important family in the fucking universe.
I don’t hate the sequels because I’m some sexist monster or something, I hate them because it feels like they were made by people who didn’t even watch what preceded them but wanted to cash in on people’s nostalgia anyway.
Michael Rooker growling out "I'm Mary Poppins, y'all!" might be the funniest moment in the MCU.
Holden: “Everyone has a bad day”
Ah sh*t, here we go again… xD
These videos are what I look forward to every week

Jen: You mean wait a year??? No no no :)
I think Feige can prepare himself for a call from Jen.
