I started fishing Tenkara a long time ago. Then I fell in with some competition anglers… (best friend is coach of Team USA youth who just won Gold at world championships this week). I was laughing at how huge my friend’s Frabill 17x22” net looked. “Wishful thinking” I thought. It wasn’t long before I started carrying a huge net too. Landing a fish was immediately less stressful for all involved. I bet it cut the amount of time from catch to release in half. The net is huge, but if you rig it to hang from the middle of your back it is easy to live with and easily in reach. It’s also been nice to have when I’ve hooked into the occasional monster.
I had an earlier version like yours Michael and ended up hating the net because it didn’t have enough rigidity for faster pocket water when landing fish…this looks perfect and ordered one
For $20 you can't go wrong. You'll find some "give" once you get yours, but it does feel at least a bit more rigid. Again maybe that's because it's brand new. Hope you like it.
Mike, if you or anyone else "wears out" one of the Daiwas metal hoops or handles, I'd take the netting off your hands to fix one of mine (handle and hoop are fine, but I rippled the net).

I really like that net but I REALLY like that pink box cutter! 😍
Most do, it's become the trademark of my unboxing videos.
I've had the Daiwa 30cm for many years, it's my go to net for small streams.
It's a great net. If you're just going to go light for a day, having that (or similar) on your belt is a no-brainer!

Not there yet, but noted.
