Thanks for this, one minute in and I found out what I needed to know. My girlfriend just got me one of these for my birthday, and the instructions weren't very helpful on how to get it stowed away again. As soon as I saw you do it, it clicked. Easy peasey.
Glad the video helped you!!! It can be tricky at first but, it becomes second nature real quick. There is a shorter version on Bait Finesse Empire's website I did.
Best net for small stream wading. I also have the ghost version of this net. I have been fishing with Handi Pak nets since I was a kid. Thanks for doing a review of this well made product. One thing I recommend is tying a short length of bungee cord from the hole in the end of handle to a loop around the wading belt. Just in case the net pops out the holster and you don't notice when busting brush or wading current. Great review - thanks.
I have the more basic version with a regular net, which unfortunately snags hooks, so I’ll probably stop using it. Two things I wish they’d offer. The silicone net version with a plastic holster and a clip on the holster so you didn’t have to thread the belt through slots. On mine I had to modify the slots to get the hardware on my wading belt through it. Love how these fold. For small stream fishing it’s much better than a net on your back.
Single barbless hooks help with the snagging but yeah, silicone for sure is better for hooks. You can buy just the Ghost replacement net. Not sure how the silicone net would fit in a different holster.
I read somewhere that putting 1/2" clear (transparent) heat shrink tubing around the steel frame will prolong the longevity of the net and feel better on your hands when folding. (On other sites, I saw pictures of torn netting due to the steel frame.) I did this "upgrade" and I think it's a great idea. (I can't find the original post or I would have credited that person) I have the black knotless deep net version, but this modification should serve the same benefit with the ghost netting as well. If I had to do it again, I'd rub some Crisco over the steel to allow the tubing to slide better. Keep the tubing taut as you shrink it and use a heat gun to do the shrinking. I don't think a blow dryer is hot enough, but maybe if it's high wattage. A lighter flame will not offer uniform heat, has an increased risk of melting the tubing, and will blacken/darken the tubing in spots. If you're not into the DIY thing or don't have the heat gun, it may not be worth it. At least with my plastic sheath and net type, the addition of the tubing didn't cause any problems fitting the compacted net back in the sheath. Also, the tubing addition does not interfere with the function of the net at all when folding/collapsing it. The result was so good that it seems as though that's the way it should be made! Then again, I've not put it through any cold extremes. I guess it's possible that the tubing will crack in very cold temps. We'll see.
Comment below the one piece of fishing equipment you can't live without?
Your demonstration of how to collapse it solved my problems much better than the demos on their own website, thanks for posting this review!
You aren't the first person that has said that 😂. They are neat little nets though.

best!!! explanation of “how to fold it”. Works also for similar brands/models. Good job, keep it up 👍🏼
I was getting the question a lot and decided it was best to show everyone in a video. Glad the video helped you and many other out.
This is exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks for the awesome review.
Thanks for this more in depth video. I will surely buy this net as it is a genius tool for stream fishing. Keep on doing such great content Hobie 👍
Thank you. I am glad the video was able to help you.
Awesome, your method of folding works perfect!
It's kinda confusing at first but, becomes second nature after you get it down.

Thank you for the tip. Brush seems to like to grab fishing gear and never give it back
it works like a photography reflector ...niceee
Really easy to deploy for quick landing of fish
beautiful net bro ! easy to bring and save some space!
For sure. So easy to deploy and net a fish
You did so good on video. Thanks much for great information! Gonna give this net a try because of your information.
Kindest regards, Ben
Glad it was helpful! Bait Finesse Empire has some custom ones that look pretty sweet!!!
Thanks! Will check them out this evening, before I order.
@@benfranks6375 Definitely a great small to mid sized trout net. I have got trout up to 20in with this net.

Привет дружище, спасибо за ролик, отличный подсачек 😁👍
You are welcome!

I will look into that. Anything to save money is right up my alley🤣
Is it ok to use from a kayak for bass fishing in general or it will be too small?
I think it would be too small.
Nice video! New to the channel and subbed!
Thanks for the sub! Welcome to the channel.
Does it float?
Kinda. The current will slowly such the net under if you dont grab it.
