Watching these three (Cynthia Rothrock, Richard Norton and Keith Cooke) kick ass never gets old. I don't care how old this movie or its sequel is. It's still great to watch.
I grew up watching a lot of cynthia rothrock movies brilliant fight scenes the way she moved everything,I always believed that when they made mortal combat the movie in the 90s she should have played the part of sonya blade she would have fitted the role so well, when the first mortal kombat game came out I thought sonya blade was just like cynthia rothrock.
@@hellsunicorn You're right. In fact, the makers of the original _Mortal Kombat_ game actually genuinely wanted Cynthia Rothrock and Jean-Claude Van Damme to be digitised for those characters, but Rothrock was too expensive and the Muscles from Brussels wasn't interested, so they used Elizabeth Malecki and Daniel Pesina respectively (in fact, the costume that Pesina wears as Johnny Cage in the first game is clearly a reference to one of the costumes that Van Damme wore in the movie _Bloodsport_ a few years earlier).
That kick China does at 1:05 instantly invokes visions of the man who, in the original film, reacted to it with the line: “Do you see that? She's one of them chop-suey fighters!”
Funny thing is none of this was in the script. It was supposed to be a movie about teaching poetry to inner city kids, but they just showed up to the first day of filming and started kicking everyone's ass so the director just decided to keep filming. Some of those people died and those poor kids never got to learn to write a haiku.
After that he was probably best known for playing Reptile and Scorpion in _Mortal Kombat_ (1995) and _Mortal Kombat: Annihilation_ (1997) respectively (he is also credited as having been a stuntman in the latter), and was also a villain in _Beverly Hills Ninja_ (1997).
@@geoculus5606 Ah, yes, I do apologise. I had just been discussing Scorpion with someone else and must have had him on my brain and got my wires crossed!
Got strangely hooked on Rothrock as a youngster. China O'Brian not a bad little flick considering the shoe string budget. Unlike other action women, she is a real competition fighter. I wonder what she's doing now? Ruma is, she's moved on from the martial arts into other areas of fitness training.
I would love for this to be digitally remastered and re-released on Blu-Ray and/or 4K Ultra HD. I'd pre-order that in an instant if that were to become a reality.
Another face that might be recognisable to fans of this kind of thing at this time is the bald-headed man that Richard Norton is fighting at 7:00: Toshishiro Obata, who is best known for playing Master Tatsu in the 1990 _Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles_ film and its sequel _Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze_ (1991).
You know I have heard about a youtuber named daetrix is making a show called the rise of the last dragon animated series based on the last dragon movie from 1985
Ive been searching for this track for 25 years and come up with nothing,i really want this particular track from this movie. It be great if some one can help me find it??..

The Mortal Kombat movie brought me here.
Cynthia rothrock
Wow, what nonstop & great fighting scenes shown by the masters of martial art themselves; Cynthia Rothrock, Richard Norton and Keith Cooke.. 👊🔥👍
Ah, so much nostalgia.
Remember the time that we thought all of these were real fighting?
Use to love this film as a kid especially the last fight and music with Keith Cooke..

I think that the Sonya Blade character may have been based on Cynthia Rothrock, Johnny Cage was modeled after Van Damme.
There's nothing brilliant about her movies. They all suck but very entertaining because the acting and fight scenes suck🤣🤣🤣🤣

These are the moviesvthat insired me
It dawned on me... this makes a decent adaptation of Sega's Streets of Rage: Axel, Adam and Blaze
No, she's actually the inspiration of Mortal Kombat's Sonya Blade... and later Final Fight 3's Lucia Morgan.
Wow 100 percent right even the fight sounds are the same
It definitely has that arcade beat em up vibe if you were into that sorta thing in the late 80’s early 90’s
Richard Norton, the baddest ass Australian dude EVER. I love all his work but the dude was on FIRE in the China o Brien films :D

Keith Cooke was amazing but it's to bad that he has only a couple of movies

@@Texy88 Actually he played Sub-Zero in the second MK. ;)
