  • The Last fight from Yes, Madam With Cynthia Rothrock and Michelle Yeoh together.
For those who say Cynthia Rothrock is only a B-Grade fighter. Always being remembered for the horrible acting and fighting in "Undefeatable". Proof it's the B-Movie choreography that makes her look bad.
This proves given the right directors and choreography that the five-time World Karate Champion is a walking monster of a fighter!

It's crazy to watch cause from Yes Madam probably up Oscar Winning Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, she was known as a action star. She was always charismatic and likeable as a action star but to see her get a role with depth like Crouching Tiger was mind blown (Going through her film C.V a few years back, she did start to sprinkle in a few dramatic non action role's here and there a few years before Crouching Tiger in her Hong Kong roles).
That's what makes it great to see her mix action with dramatic work for her eventual Oscar win.

Next to the '90's, the 1980's had THE BEST outfits of any decade! On a side note: I wouldn't mind being married to either of these stunning visions of lovelies, or some women who are just like them. Sure they could definitely wupp my tail in the process, easy, no debate there; but just to know that my woman could handle herself in a fight (unfair or otherwise) would be one less worry or concern for me when I can't be there for her... not that she'd need me to always have her back!

There were 2 points in that fall where he could have sustained a career ending injury or even death. The first one is when his back hit the roof of the wine bar, that could have easily broke his spine. The second is when he almost landed on his head when he hits the ground. He could have easily break his neck and ended up in a wheelchair for life. HK movies stunts are incredible and these stuntmen are risking serious injuries and death every day. No wonder some of them get blacklisted by insurance companies, like Jackie Chan.

Yes, though that was common for Hong Kong movies of the time. I think what Loh is referring to is that Cynthia Rothrock was a martial arts champion who became an actress. Michelle Yeoh started as an actress and through the years has been trained. Though at this point their really isn't much difference. She is FULLY trained in Wing Chun Kung Fu now and has had other training martial arts training.

Cynthia Rothrock is a highly trained martial artist. She received most of her high level titles prior to starring in this movie. She is now a Grandmaster. Michelle Yeoh is a trained ballerina, and was attending the Royal Academy of Dance in London, before an injury derailed her professional ballerina career. For someone with no ongoing martial arts training, she is very convincing. And she did her own stunts. I get so disappointed with current actresses who obviously don't know how to do martial arts. Only a few impress with actual training (Lucy Liu, Sarah Michelle Gellar). As awesome as the Kill Bill movies were, I wasn't impressed with the sloppy martial arts. I don't mean that they weren't pretty. I mean they were unconvincing.
It's hard to get away with stuff like this in Western movies. Insurance liability and all that. I remember when Jackie Chan started doing all his Rush Hour movies, and he was constantly told he couldn't do certain things because of liability.

Yet you can see that's really her as you can see her face (there were no face replacments in 1980's HK action movies). She isn't even a trained martial artist or stage combat performer and she's yet she's still one of the best in the business. She's absoultely incredible.
