Hello , I have a question. I'm installing a remaned 1.4 in a 2013 encore. Can I use a pump to push oil into all bearings through the oil pressure sensor port? I own a 1990 ZR-1 and I was able to build oil pressure in that LT5 by pushing 4 Quarts of oil into all bearings using this proceedure. The manufacturer says to just turn crank by hand to build pre lube pressure. Do you think my idea will work on this 1.4l?
Designed to fail like most crap these days. They designed the oil pump so delicately and conveniently around the area that is known to be highly vibrational.
@Ivansthename have you seen any white papers or TSBs that detail this. If there is a design defect I'd like to know about it. -- Because my Volt's engine just got fragged by an exploding oil pump of the same variable output design.
I'm sorry, but I can't provide the exact pressure for the screws as it can vary based on the specific car model. I'd recommend visiting www.youcanic.com where you can ask this question and get answers directly from car experts. At YOUCANIC, we also provide a Full System Scanner www.youcanic.com/scanner to help diagnose any car issues.
Great video bro. My a14net engine has a low oil pressure when the weather is -15. When the weather is 0, it works fine. I measured the oil pressure on a fully warmed-up engine, all readings are normal. The pressure sensor is working properly. What is the reason for low oil pressure in cold weather at the start?
Thanks for your feedback! Variations in oil pressure can occur due to the oil's viscosity changes in different weather conditions, -15 degrees could be causing your oil to thicken, hence the lower pressure. We recommend a diagnostic check with our YOUCANIC Full System Scanner. The scanner is designed to help car owners like you identify issues easily. Check it out here: www.youcanic.com/scanner. Also, having the correct procedures and torque specs is crucial for successful repairs. You can find Factory Repair Manuals and Torque Specs at: www.youcanic.com/manuals. It's a small investment for peace of mind and getting the job done right.

Possibly GM's worst 4 cyl since the Vega. Valve cover / PCV problems, coolant hose problems, turbo cracking, head gasket blowing pieces of crap. Not surprised the oil pump exploding is also a possibility!

Any ideas what causes this catastrophic failure?

One question, can you tell me how many pounds of pressure the screws have?
