Glad you got a bottle, But i have close to 250 bottles in my collection and have not even seen a bottle of 107 in two years. Ran into a full proof for 350$ so for me Buffalo Trace can keep their over priced booze. Cheers 🥂
Dang. Yeah I live close to Ohio where Weller has been more available than most places. $350 for Full Proof is secondary prices for sure and probably not worth it. Never had it but for $350 it's gotta be absolutely incredible. Cheers!
Yes! It's worth it! /video Now, good luck finding it even in 2024 BUT like always it is completely dependent on what area you live in. Then should you find it, is it at a decent price? YMMV! I have only seen and picked up Weller A107 once (1) in person at a liquor store! The rest I sourced online because I have no other choice. Weller FP? I have never seen a bottle NOT at museum prices ($400) and nah, i'm good so again sourced a bottle and got it that way. Be happy you live where you do if you can walk in and walk out with a Weller A107 @ $70 because that isn't happening for me, $190 is more like it.

A friend of mine purchased a case of Antique 107 in Kentucky about a year ago for a great price. So, I’m thankful I don’t have to hunt for it. It’s a great flavor profile and excellent pour overall. Thank you for the review

Good review -. Living in Wa rarely see Weller products - was LUCKY to walk into a store that it & Special Reserve reasonable for out here SR was $50 ; 107 was $69 this was year ago .. enjoyed both .. glad to have the experience

Yeah I think OWA is a really solid pour but if you go in expecting the best thing ever you’ll be disappointed. Plenty of better stuff out there. I think both Makers Mark limited releases from 2021 (FAE-01 and FAE-02) are probably better and are usually around $60-70. Cheers!!

This is a tough bottle, for me. On it’s own (as a first drink), I don’t like the Antique 107 at all. Following something wheated 9at lower proof), I think it’s delicious. Some bourbons don’t hit my palate right, unless it’s warmed up. I don’t drink a lot and should probably stop buying them. It’s just kind of hard to pass up allocated bottles, especially when they can make good gifts for friends with different tastes.
It’s certainly hard to pass them up when they are hard to find and great as gifts. And I often find my experience changes dramatically depending on if I have a warm up or not. Though I do often just take my drink with no warm up to let the full power of the whiskey hit me. (And it sounds like you have a excuse to drink 2 things to get OWA to hit right haha). My relative was generous enough to share his OWA107 with me. He brought it over in a pelican case 😅. It's a good pour. Compared to the Weller SR there is more to find in the glass, but I struggle with most wheaters to go beyond basic tasting notes. I hope one day to get to try the even more rare Weller libations. It's really hard to beat the WT rare breed. I can't find Weller 107 either...I've had a handshake bottle of it, but nothing more. At MSRP, I'd be good with having it, if not, There is a lot of other options!
Yep. Definitely worth having a bottle if you can find it around MSRP. Great balance. But not significantly better than a lot of stuff in that $50-60 range, including Rare Breed. Cheers!
I haven’t gotten one of these yet, but I have a WFP. The rip off store near me wants $130 for WA107. No way! The WFP is good, but it’s nowhere near my favorite bourbon. I overpaid for it. I’m never overpaying for Weller again. If I pass through Ohio, I’ll mildly hunt for it at retail. Good luck with the channel.

I agree, about $65 would be the most I would pay for OWA. Have you tried TPS Rebel store pick? I enjoy it better than OWA and id say its on the same level as Weller full proof IMO

Yes it’s good. Sometimes it comes off acetone on the nose, but in an old fashioned it’s magical. Don’t screw it up everyone and try to make poor man’s pappy it sucks.

“Unicorn” seems a bit much. I’ve seen this 4-5 times in NC (a state notoriously on the naughty list at Buffalo Trace) at retail since Christmas. I’ve also seen it on secondary for $75-125 if someone really had to have it. It’s a solid pour, and great for tradebait, but unicorns are mythical beasts that no one ever sees. If this qualifies as a unicorn for you all I can say is I’m sorry
Hey Erik, thanks for engaging. My channel is definitely from more of a beginner bourbon collectors perspective so for people at that level it’s definitely one to hunt seriously. In the video I acknowledge that this is only somewhat of a unicorn (for lack of a better term). Certainly not impossible to find but really difficult in different areas and because of popularity becoming harder to see. Also, I don’t really consider secondary as in the spirit of truly hunting for bottles in the wild. So while it’s easy to find on secondary pages, it takes some pretty significant effort to find for yourself in person. So, you are right. Not a unicorn such as George T Stagg or something like that, but sort of a tier down from that in the hunting game. (Also, just purely better on the UA-cam algorithm to use the term.) I always get like an applie pie filling flavor with this one. Lots of cinnamon, apples, and caramel. SO good! Great video.

OWA is great at MSRP. I never see the FP or 12 year. I got my OWA in Ohio too. The website blows.
