thanks for this video it helped me a lot I'm training to be a mechanic at college and for my first car my dad gave me his old citroen as long as I could fix the bushes on it
It is a bit hard to get under the car to tighten the nuts if its resting on its wheels. To be honest this car never had any issues after fitting this wishbone, the other side probably needs done in the future but the car has been sold.
Excellent Video again. :) Do you have anything upcoming on clutch repair and diagnosys? My clutch pedal seems to have an unusually large deadzone. I need to release it upto 90% till it starts to grab and I'm pretty sure when I bought the car 4 months ago it was more like 70%. Any idea what that could be? Is it fixable for a mechanical rookie?
TheVoid Hi I have 3 videos on the channel for clutch replacements; a 106, 406 and subaru forester. The biting point depends on the car, if it has a hydraulic clutch then there is no adjustment, some cable operated clutches can experience stretching of the cable causing issues. Do you have any clutch issues such as revs rising as you drive but no increase in speed?
Hello, thank you for answering my question. The car is a citroen xsara break 2001 HDI 90, I assume it has a hydraulic clutch. I don't have clutch issues as you describe it and the biting point is still quite pronounced on this clutch (if this is an english sentence). It's just the large deadzone that worries me a little bit.
In the case of this car it actually failed its MOT test (annual inspection) which indicated excess play in this joint. Other than that you can use a pry bar to try and get the joint to move to see if it has excess play.
I havent done it, but i think the wishbone is removed then the bush is pressed out Its the same part as the 306 and therefore has all of the upgrade parts available to the 306 such as polybush kits www.kamracing.co.uk/car-tuning/peugeot/peugeot-306/suspension/peugeot-306-powerflex-front-wishbone-front-bushes.html
So hard to find work being done on xsara, thanks for the video. I have an excessive sound coming from car when going over speedbumps just like the sound in this video; ua-cam.com/users/shortsoCtP3Otu7TY which part do you think the sound is coming from?

Glad to hear the video helped, enjoy the citroen and good luck with the training.
Super video thank you
Thanks for the comment
I think you should have tighten nuts on a "working" position (like it's on the wheels) of wishbone

How to replace front bush without press? Hammer will work?
Threaded bar and a socket set is a cheap alternative to a press. A hammer can cause damage.
Sir how do you know how much to charge a new part whether there is a measure or a limit.

Thanks for vídeo, torque bolts?
I do not have the figures to hand, a haynes manual would be recommended just for those numbers
Nice video! Do you have Peugeot 205 videos coming up?
wessel hendriks
Thanks,
Unfortunately no 205 videos, i don't own any 205, but i wouldn't say no to one, brilliant cars.
muy bueno, exelente, gracias

Amigo bom dia
Vc poderia me informa a numeração da correia do alternador do citroen xsara 2002 1.6i 16v
Hi, register on "citroen servicebox" it is free to do so. There is a full parts catalogue for all citroens on there.
On mine xsara cum gear oil out 😅
The driveshaft has slipped out a bit
Top up the gearbox oil but you may find a new driveshaft oil seal is required
