Here is another tuning video going over an Indian Scout with a 2-1 Freedom exhaust. We have learned more information even sense filming this video and can even take the tune a few steps further in the future! Hey man, just wanted to say you have the best Indian scout Dino video I've seen so far. There are some that went more thorough on the some things over others you went on to how you like the tune, a lightly lightly modified bike and how it actually could perform.

Excellent results. I'm going to get an upgraded air intake. I have slip on shorties. I can't wait to get a dyno tune. I would imagine my numbers will be even higher.

Did you save your map? I have a Power commander V with a 2 into 1 Indian pipe and stage 1 airbox with K&N air filter. I would also like to compensate for the ignition curve with a +4 to +5 degree timing advance. It's also hard starting in the cold because it's too lean.
Wonder what gains I’d get with the 60 debating weather to mod it or just trade it in for the big scout

The numbers seem low (im new to bike tuning), would this be a dramatic change to the bikes power? I test rode one of these today and it was pretty underwhelming in the power department.
I rode the honda rebel 1100 before this bike and the Honda rips by comparison.
They aren't too bad at all and we learned afterwards that there is a speedo Limiter at the 120mph mark, which is where 4th redlined at in this video ironically enough. With that being said, we feel like there is still more to be made from this bike.
That's not bad considering it didn't have a ton of money thrown at this bike 🤙
Would like to see more Scout Dyno runs with mods if the opportunity arises

So the powervision did not remove the factory 120 MPH limiter or the rev limiter? It says it does.
When you are ripping a scout, it is at 120 in fourth gear, so i feel like there has to be so much more to it.
Sorry on the late reply! Yes it does remove it, it was an oversight on my end! Owner and I discussed it and were going to modify it to raise the Limiter but he traded bike in before we could do so.

I'm not sure to be honest since it's a newer platform. Depending on wngine mods, I'm sure it can see over 100whp with mild engine mods.

When would you recommend a tune should be performed when making performance upgrades to the scout?
Usually I recommend looking into getting a tune once you have the cat deleted. If you do t plan on taking it that far and just want to do slip ons then I would still suggest getting it on dyno and getting it all checked out to see how everything looks. 🤙
I'd like to know how the fuel situation has changed and how much, if any, miles per tank we're given up! I'd love to possibly do this to mine but without losing ride milage...
Well, the way we tune, you don't have to sacrifice fuel mileage to gain power. Heavy acceleration/full throttle is in a different part of the mapping compared to cruising and light throttle application.
Now if you are constantly beating on the bike and are an aggressive driver then yes, fuel mileage will go down lol
I have a bone stock ‘22 Rogue Sixty. How would the bike benefit from a tune? I am new to this.
What I usually tell everyone is what you put into the bike, you will get out of it paired with a tune.
In other words, if you don't change anything and leave it stock, expect little to no gains and changes to be made through tuning.
But if you install a full exhaust and good air cleaner, then pair it with a tune, well you will get better results, more driveability, smoother acceleration, etc.
How much does it cost to get a tune? Does it vary in cost depending on what upgrades you have on your bike? I have a 2021 Indian scout bobber with S&S air intake and 3.5" Rinehart slip-on exhaust. I was going to buy the PV3 tuner but have no idea what I'm doing... Would it be more beneficial to have a professional do it on a dyno?
It's a pretty complicated program. Unless you have a decent idea of what to do if you go that route then I would advise to not do it yourself. You could easily lock up / break your ecm if you do it wrong.
Dyno tuning is definitely the best route to go no matter what. On this one we did utilize a pv3 unit and took a lot of loving to get it right lol

Do u have full access to the ecu's functions? As in could u raise red line lower idle remove speed governor etc?
Yes, since these are so new I don't know which Indians have what ability as of yet but on the scouts I can alter quite a bit of stuff including idle, speed governor, ignition timing and fuel mapping to name a few.

@Camron Goodall power vision is the ecu flasher for them. That's the only one I know of to date. Same stuff Lloydz uses 🤙
So how hard is it to tune an Indian compared to a Harley? Is it the same concept plugging into the motorcycle while you’re tuning?
It was a bitch lol Indian just did it a little different compared to harley but that's the learning curve in all this. Once you recognize how to make successful changes then you can play with the numbers and smooth it all out
Great video. I think the max RPM is 10,000? Soft cut-in @ 9,700 would be expected (conservative, longevity, bladdy). But, are they ALL still limited to 120MPH? Original Kenda tire was H rated, therefore max speed= 120. However, Indian (Polaris) is playing with other-better known- manufacturers, so- I'm guessing that they are being fitted with higher speed ratings. Peshaw! What if I wanna install some 'spensive, high speed rubber? Why should I be limited to 120. I think the EU decided that autobahn burners are speed limited to 155MPH, whether in writing or just manufacturers taking responsibility for what they create. That would be easier, as only 1 or 2 gears can actually achieve those RPMs. Is there a way to remove the tire speed limiter using the VL3 or the harder to install V5?
Ive read that anywhere from 118 to128 is governed max speed. 8,300 rpm is where the limiter hits. One shop got 124mph on a dyno. I guarantee tire diameter is a factor.

I enjoy doing custom tuning over mailing the flashes to be honest. But if we get to that point I wouldn't mind selling off the flashes 👍👍

What is the cost to increase power with a stock indian scout?
There have been some changes made recently to the tuning platforms. I will have to get back with you once we find a new tuning platform for them.
Damn. So my stage one ISB is probably at somewhere like 97-98whp based on this video. I wonder if I was dyno tuned if I could hit actually 100 at the wheel. Running an off the shelf tune right now cause I can't find anyone in florida with a fuckin dyno.
Not sure but we also learned more after the vid. We can push it even harder to yield a little more up top !
@provenpowercycles only difference is I'm running GP shorties, but I have a S&S intake, so I'm guesstimating pretty hard. If yall wanna pick mine up and mess around with it for another vid, be my guest lol.

What was the top speed?
Customer never came back for an update but it was limited to the 120mph from factory that we did not release from the bike admittedly. Once we realized there was a speed Governor on it, they had left already. We reached out to them to come back for an update but they opted not too

Usually manufactures measure to the crank or engine horsepower (bhp). Our dyno measures rear wheel horsepower which takes into effect all of your drive train loss (varies bikw to bike but usually is around 15% loss from crank hp). 👍👍

Should have spent the $100 and put a intake on it. Would have gained a little more, motor could breath better and save time since it will need a tune if intake is installed later.
I agree with you on it. However, certain customers are strictly looking for driveability vs power. I provide the whole thing as a package deal. 👍
