My first kart was bad, but I learnt from it. 2nd one straight onto the podium first meeting with it. There be 60+ since then. Now I drive what I'm paid to drive that the team has. Racing this weekend, first 6 hour enduro (sprint kart chassis), I'll find out what it is at Practise on Saturday, race it Sunday. Following weekend in a different class, with a different team, will work it out Raceday when I meet the team, drivers and the kart. I'm quick at picking it all up, regardless of class, series or team. Generally learn a kart and new track within 5 laps now, but been playing this game a long time.
Been following your channel, especially because my son (12yo) drives a SODI Sigma RS kart. He also has an older Tonykart EVK. For practice, he actually alternates between both. His first comment was about the brakes on the Tonykart (which is the same as your LN). His comments pretty much are similar to yours. All the best with the LN, please throw a follow up with your preference. We are looking to replace the Tonykart with the new RS3 chassis which has been doing well in Europe.
My Father has a 1960 Simplex with a 5 HP West Bend Engine .. maybe I was 7-8 years old never drove it on a track .. Just in a Cul-de-sac ect.. It's loud seemed like a thrill to me ..
If you had to have only one kart what set up would you go with? Enjoy your channel I’m getting back into karting after 20 years your videos have me pumped….🤙🏼
A real question since I havent followed the scene but have 2 old karts myself: Why is the steering Ackerman angle so extreme nowadays that the outer wheel barely turns, and is it better to have the wheels so much offset from the knuckle (more lift for rear tyre?)? My faster kart is a 1995 Swiss Hutless Vitess and the front is way more narrow but the thing still is super quick. Are the modern chassis styles just made to conform to a rule or just better for speed on the track? Cheers :)
I recommend to yo to buy a normal tony kart or kosmic they are a bit cheaper because the exclusivity of the collabs with drivers and they are exactly the same chassis and bodywork just other color
@@sebastianarce6370 I’ve got three Tony Kart Chassis and a Kosmic Chassis, the reason I’m thinking of the LN is bc I like blue not bc the collab if I’m replacing my Alonsos I’d either go EOS or LN
@Tobias Cat I've raced karts for almost 50 years. It's morphed from a sport about driving and building & tuning engines .. into a sport about driving and changing tires, LOT'S of tires. It's sad IMO.. the older harder tires were fun to drive on, lasted a whole season!!.. and didn't beat the hell outta ya with major G-Force turns.
Hey congrats on the new CAR I JUST GOT ONE TOO! i LOVE THE NEW TRACK AT #DKC I switched to 60cc to 100cc KA 100 JR and i'm only 11! This will be my last race in my cdat kart before I sell it! and nice looking kart. The kart I got was from the #CROSSLINKCOMPITISHEN kart from the owner SIX FREE FUIL CANS for my kart and so as some tyers and a big box for my tools. Karting is fun but in some ways to much fun!
Very cool and hope to see you out for club races at DKC this year! The Sean in this video actually used to help run Crosslink so he can definitely help get your kart dialed in for the new track.
Might be true, I had my first experience with a shifter at 11yrs old with a cr125 swiss hutless from 1995 :D I was about 1-2seconds slower with it compared to back then guys in their 26-30's and it was super fun. Looked sketchy with a big pillow behind my back and a loose helmet I bet 😂@@Beau_Rivage
Not good if you want to learn to keep up with the pros in cornering and basic racing style but damn I'd never trade the experience when I was 11 and hammering gears in at 90km/h helmet way too big and loose rattling in my head. Barely able to touch the gas pedal with some pillow behind my back :) Most fun on 4 wheels I've ever had :D I even got to try a 250cc superkart style Dino Kart with YZ250 engine. That thing was a missile for a 40kg 157cm driver. @@chasemadi7563
Great video, keep posting you do very good job. I am wondering what cable use as I am not familiar with a cable that would cost 100 dollars. I have had some throttle issues on my son's go-kart and maybe this is a solution.
OTK is taking a page from Birel, take the sameold chassis and slap a famous racer’s name on it . . . it's an OTK dude, livery doesn’t give you 2 tenths . . . as for the computer, have you tried the Alfano? #Respect
I agree, a new kart doesn’t make you faster but it was time for a newer kart. I’m interested in the Alfano, heard good things about it. Do you have one, if so, what do you think?
@@IllegalAlienRacing I have two Alfano’s and I absolutely love them. The battery life is insane. I just charged one that heald its charge for 2 years before needing its first charge. Only minor glitch is when you first get one, you have to figure out the distance multiplier or your MPH on track will be all messed up. Its easy to adjust, its just that most don’t realize it and think there unit is broken. All in all, I’ve had really good luck with the Alfano 6.
Why did Edwin just quit? It's my biggest fear to get into this and then lose interest And then have to sell everything. I'm bad about getting into hobbies and getting out all the I spend a lot of time with motorcycles and still love them but I'm very interested in the karting.
My son is loving his he picked up from Edwin!
Those Lando Norris Karts definitely look nice. Wonder if it will make you any faster 🤔😅
Yeah I like the colors. It didn’t come with driving lessons so probably not.
Tony kart is way, way better than what he had

The track is very slick a lot of sliding around
Looks like a nice fun flowing track

Hi Illegal, I really like your Lando kart. Good luck with your racing this year. We have to go another 4 months before we can hit the tracks here.
Thank you. Where are you located?
@@IllegalAlienRacing Located in Canada, province of Ontario. Yes, for us it will be the month of May before we can start.
bet that will be fun on the south track. i can't wait for that one. still can't believe you got a LN.

Big comment, thanks for the video,
It looks so nice ive been debating buying a LN Kart to replace one of my OTK Alonso chassis

New track looks slick as ice but that’s to be expected. It will take some time to gain rubber.
He definately needs to adjust the kart to get more bite... pull rear tires in and/or reduce air pressure. It looks undriveable as is.

Good looking Kart. I like Blue and Yellow so I'M a fan!!
That frame sparkles nicely in the sun.

Moving up! How do you like the new engine class?
I have not teset drived yet but I will soon. And shawn Is a nice guy! And so is Mike.
Definitely want to buy my first kart but that rotax was too much fun man
Get one. If you change your mind you can always sell it.
I got only 1 word: Shifter

Nice kart
that paint 🎨 job will get scratched
K100, are they similar to old Yamaha KT100?
That’s a sound I like an air cooled 100 cc
What will you do with the Sodi? I need to get a chassis for a 206. Let me know if you want to sell it.
What brand is that green race suit?
also just bought a LN kart
Just asking but is it close to a mini rok cadet?
Hi Oscar, how are the corners now with the stripped off surface?
Better but still need more.

What does a cart like that cost
Chassis around 5500 depending on location. engine is another 2k excluding tires, fuel, fuel line chassis protector etc..
Why is it so slypery
Frames don't make you fast. They are all essentially the same.
Not true
Man there’s some differences in the frames
track is ice. LOL better off running wets ffs

Do it man it’s an absolute blast and I don’t see it as something you really “lose interest in”
He probably got injured or has different priorities in life now(family).
Thanks for your comment Noah.
