If You Can't Win At Karting Don't Be This Guy! - TeamSport Brighton Sore Loser

- See my other karting videos. To some it looks like I’m the one making contact but in reality the other driver is braking constantly so I have nowhere to go. The full video including the 2 previous sessions is on my channel, I never make avoidable contact as evidenced by every video I have on here. I race clean even if it is just for fun.
I visited TeamSport Brighton for the first time and I was pretty quick for once beating the locals in the first 2 sessions but it looks like by the 3rd session someone got a bit fed up. I still came second though 😂
I’ve never had anyone behave like this in all the time I’ve been karting, I have no idea what goes through someone’s head to make them do this. No words were exchanged between sessions and all my passes were clean.

It's called racing. Ask any wheel to wheel racer, you aren't doing time trial and it's not necessarily about how fast you can go but how well you can defend.

@@ray_drummer7217 I saw those few times. What I'm saying is: there COULD have being MORE times, but cammer held back.
Think of it this way:
When the idiot in front thinks he can suddenly brake-check anywhere in a turn, to "surprise" the cammer in the back,
If it were me, I'd keep my throttle wherever it needs to be, and angle my nose so I'd slam into one of the idiot's rear bumper corner.
This (could) achieves pit maneuver, or give the idiot a whip lash; and even if it doesn't, I'm not slowing myself down just for him to pull a gap.

That happened to me a few years ago. Guy was blocking me by running me into the tires. I patiently worked out my strategy and ended up shoving him into the tires with some gusto by accident. One of those individuals that always has to have the best of everything.
This was the norm when I used to do indoor carting. Happy to see people frown upon it.
ITT: a bunch of babies and racing snobs.
I had exactly the same behaviour last time I was karting. I was patiently waiting for an opening to overtake this guy and noticed on one of the hairpins he kept taking it too fast and clipping the wall. So the next lap I overtook him on the inside and went into the racing line and he decided not to brake for the next corner and try to spin me out. He ended up stuck behind my sideways kart anyway and I promptly left him in the dust once we had come to a stop. I had 2 laps of blissful speed with nobody in front until I caught up with last place who wasn't leaving space to overtake. This meant that another 2 laps later, the douchebag caught up with me and just rammed my kart every corner. Until the end of the race when he ran away from me. Despicable behaviour for a supposed grown up in his 40s (a guess), and I can't believe he wasn't stopped from racing either!
Can you explain how to properly over take (the dumbed down) version? Im new to the learning cars and kart stuff still and i have no idea what most of the stuff is? what are these invisible lines you speak of? I don't remember anything other than being rammed when i went long ago but i was just trying to learn the track by slowly driving through it lol.
Had almost exactly the same at Resding once, right down to him getting black flagged and then coming out in front of me. I got past and he t-boned me at the next hairpin. I was sore for weeks. We also had a red flag and he was stopped in front of me shouting abuse. I was very close to getting out and slapping him but figured I'd get banned! At the end they kept him out while others all pitted and left. Oddly in the pits he was a lot less aggressive - surprise! Always one dickhesd....
Should of took the ban and smashed your helmet through his face arseholes like him should be the 1s banned
Fun things to do in these situations is just to use an annoying driver as a brake. Then annoy them so much, and when they falter, just waltz past. If they try anything nasty, just punt them into the backrooms
Was visiting Portugal and went to "Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve". They have the best track marshal I've seen. Guy blocking me for about 1/2 a lap and track marshal came up and kept ramming the guy until he was in the grass. I do wish they had a horn on the karts as I may inadvertently block drivers sometimes and not know for a couple of turns.

Everyone disagreeing with the original poster here clearly doesn't know how to race and what a racing line is, nor right of way, or how to get your best lap time.
These idiots are just tunnel visioned drivers that can't see the track as a whole. Just what's directly in front of them or behind them, and use that as a means of getting in front of people regardless of consequence to life or their laptime.

Man I would’ve sent that guy like he was FedEx next day shipping
Unfortunately I have come across a few people like that at the local indoor track. It is a tight difficult to pass track and I figured out a way to get them out of the way. The track has a hairpin that is wide open going into so ease up on them without hitting them and when they slow to make the turn push them straight and cut back in and make the pass. Usually works pretty good. I stress to everyone that it is for fun and you won't be F1 after the day but some people just don't get it.
Since I have raced open wheel formula cars all my life you need to be respectful in real car racing or contact will put you both out. But these are like high speed bumper cars to to many.
After a while ,I just resort to the dirty pool and knock em off the track into the tires.

I once had a 12 year old girl basically blocking me in a hot lap heat. I didn’t realize it was a little girl until after I got fed up and rammed my way through.
HAHAHAHA NICE!💀
Please excuse my ignorance in gocart racing. Question, if you are racing what are the rules for passing? Do you just allow the person to pass you or do try to prevent the person from overtaking you.
If you are RACING then you RACE. These events though are not racing, they are leisure events. People PAY MONEY to drive cars at the track. Ive been to them several time, the unwritten rune is generally if the car is about the same speed and skill as you, then you race hard. If someone a lot quicker comes behind you, dont race them, let them pass. But either way, dont ram them off the road.
Most of these indoor tracks isnt an actual race, it goes by lap times.
There were examples where he did a decent job of defensive driving, but there were more examples of him brake checking, squeezing the faster kart into the wall and intentionally hitting other karts for us to safely say he is a p*ss taker and probably shouldn't be allowed to race. Was hilarious though tbf.
Darn, I was hoping the race would've finished with you getting out of the cart and strangling him! 😅
Yeah I was upset to not at least see an interaction, the dude definitely turns around like he was so proud of himself
Bro this looks like go karting if it was a video game online literal direct copy of f1 2021
Same thing happens to me every time I go race by myself. Not only there’s a “spacious” person that uses the whole track, but when I open up for a turn, someone uses me as breaks 😣
In an ideal world:
Staff: "What great blocking, can I take your photo? Pose with your helmet, we'll put it up on the wall."
Also staff: "Thanks for that. You are hereby banned for a year from all our tracks."
In an even better world, I'd just wait for his helmet to come off and club him one.
I remember someone was pushing me into the wall every time I would try to pass. After the third time I just hit the gas and spun him out lol it was so satisfying
that's the kind of person you just push down the strait deep into the braking zone
If I ever encounter someone this dense while karting all I do is give a gentle tap in the hardest braking point and send gim to the shadow realm, if the stewards ask, he "locked up" and "spun"
Imagine bringing your own helmet and being that awful
indeed, it takes a special kind of knob to be that deluded.
Any followup to what happened after the race? Was he confronted at all or just left as is?
Afterwards they met up at the bar, shared some hard selzters and discussed Game of Thrones.
What go kart was used in the video?
TBF that was clean driving 🤣🤣
Couldn't really tell if he was brake-checking you or if you were ramming him at first, but it became apparent pretty quickly after he was black-flagged 😅
Members-only nights are best for avoiding this kind of thing.
Same here wasnt sure in the beginning but he seemed way slower in some corners compared to his previous laps so became very obvious. How he didn't get a 2nd black flag is beyond me
Or the third option: He just thinks that the fastest way to drive, is point directly at the apex of the corner, then jam on the brakes so he canjust about make it round and point directly at the apex of the next one. I think he was just one of those people who think the shortest route around the track is the quickest. I guess he got pissed because he thought everyone raced like a clueless noob like him, and couldn't figure out why he kept getting tapped
They don’t know they brakecheck nor swerve and block, they think they are defending their bad line and are in the right until taste of their own medicine
@@L-21 nar the guy was so much off his line and he was also constantly looking around. Seems like a good strategy that works. Takes a lot of awareness on his part.
This is when you "lose brakes" and go full throttle into him
We did that to a jackass like this at the indoor track in Atlanta. Every turn he kept gettin on my friends and i and hitting us to make us spin out or at least get loose on the turn. Last lap my buddy didnt let off the gas and timed it perfectly and t-boned the guy.
Lmfao all these salty people in the comments. He was just driving defensively and blocking so the guy couldn't overtake him. This happens all the time in other driving competitions, like nascar. Stay mad that he outplayed you.
This is not Nascar and this is not defensive drive. Defensive drive is about blocking the overtake passage, not ramming the car. You would receive black flag in a real kart racing like that.

@@Xzedopau I'm pretty sure if the karts got up to 120kph the course would be an outdoor course with much longer straights.

The guy was slow, slamming his cart into others cart and pushing them into the wall which can be dangerous, break checking on unsuspecting points of the track,so the quick cart wouldn’t be able to use the speed they gained to overtake.
Just unsportsmanlike behaviour. Totally right for giving him a black flag.
this is what i feel like when playing nascar heat 5 multiplayer
Had this happen couple weekends back…You have much patience. I spun him out after one lap of nonsense
Good 4 u fr people that do this type of BS are the bane of existence and complete douchebags
I commend you for your restraint in not punting him out of existence. I have never and will never wreck someone on purpose, but I will get in the guys face after. Have done it a couple times at indoor kart places.
Your method is more appropriate but punting is much more fulfilling.
Get in their face? Maybe don't go karting at public rentals.
Or make it your mission to go to as many public rentals as possible and take out the trash💀
Exactly why we need to deal out our own justice on the track
Bro took dive to the next level
I was drunk and I was that guy and I got stopped and thrown out of the entire park in short order. They actually tried to stop me on my first pass and I laughed maniacally and floored it around the track again, literally smashing 10 year old kids into the walls and knocking them into spins. The whole crowd of parents and staff were so mad at me they could have literally attacked me. When I finally did stop I jumped out of the cart and ran and they chased me until I was out of the park. I was trespassed and could never go back.
🤣🤣🤣 Dude lmfao. I mean, if you're gonna be a scumbag...take it all the way my man 🤣
He was really fixated on you constantly turning his head. He's a deeply insecure man.
POV: your Hamilton in 2021 Hungarian grand prix
What I do is wait for the hardest brake zone and use him as the brake
TeamSport Go Karting Brighton in the UK. Well alright! I guess I know now where I won't go next time I want to drive some laps. Terrible marshalls.
Thx!
I’m slightly confused about this. I don’t know a lot about kart racing so can someone explain what he’s doing wrong? Like can you not block off someone behind you by staying in front of them while driving? I would think you’d want to do that unless you can’t so I’m a little confused.
And you're correct in thinking that.
You shouldn't be taking it so seriously and be most concerned about winning that you are spending more time blocking someone, than driving fast. It's just a silly activity for fun, it doesn't matter who wins. Unless you are in an organized event, I can understand why this would be frowned upon. Basically it's silly to feel the need to win at the expense of other's enjoyment.
These races are about producing the best lap time, not being first over the line(it would require a qualifying race first to determine the start order). I enjoy it a lot more if I can push my lap times. If somebody doesn't want to go hard that's OK, but they ruin my fun when they are destructive. I'm not ruining their fun when they let me pass.
Winning is the only reason in a comp!
Beatifull overtake 1:13. props to you
I saw this comment and without checking, knew exactly the moment this timestamp was
He wasn't a sore loser. Thats how I always see people driving on the track when I go.
"Welcome to 'Whose Line is it Anyway!' where the karts go vroom and the racing lines don't matter."
I've seen people get a pair of hands for less in a karting track, no idea how you kept so chill
By like 2:30 ,I'm like if he doesn't jam him in some tires ,then run right up his ass when he stops in the pits at full speed, hopefully you'll launch right over the cart and knock some sense in his head that's sticking up.
I'm waiting for the rage at the end of race hahaha
You have more control that I would. I would have had it in for him and on that long straight before that hard braking turn, guess who would have full-sended it no brakes right into the back of him
I don't get it, what exactly happened?
Nothing. dude was mad he wasn't good enough to get around him.
This dude is a safety hazard, also if you see you have faster drivers behind you, why not let them pass?
Edit: You have far more patience than I, I would have punted his ass with the quickness if he blocked me like that. I don't play those games.
If you’re racing for track position, there is no obligation to let others past. I would drive defensively as well, difference being I would respect the rules in terms of that I wouldn’t deliberately put someone into a wall if they have a run on me
At 6'5 and 95kg straight line speed isn't my friend so if i want to keep track position. Stop whinging.
