      @@markusbond7262 It's a valid complaint but at the same time I kinda get it, because if you repealed the no knee/kicks to the head when grounded rule you're definitely gonna end up with situations where people get KO'd standing, drop, and then get soccer kicked in the head whilst down just to "make sure."
      Like in the clip they're watching at 1:30, imagine he stomped that guy instead of punching. You could easily kill someone like that, and a lot of these fighters would do it because, let's be real, most of these guys are not exactly playing with a full deck lol.

    Pride rules were way better. If the idea is to display real combat kicking downed opponents must be legal.
    Its banned because its the only thing you should ever do in a real world situation. Get the opponent down. Get space. Kick him. You cant truly say this discipline or that discipline is supreme with it out it being in play.
    A lot of wrestling and jujitsu are only optimal because of rules limiting options.

    • @DogMeatDelicious
      @DogMeatDelicious 2 місяці тому

      Sure, but the idea isn't to simulate real combat. That would be way too damaging for the fighters. Back in the day fighters were untested for PEDs and could take more damage in shorter time frames. Also had shorter careers. Nowadays it isn't economically viable to have your fighters get soccer kicked in the head and hope they will return to the ring in a couple of years.

    • @cuthisface
      @cuthisface Рік тому +27

      In karate they have more "karate style” strikes, for example on how they throw their techniques.
      another difference is how in karate combat they have the ability to perform upkicks, while the fighters who are standing can execute ground and pound techniques. following a duration of 5 seconds, both fighters are raised back to a standing position.
