Hi, I’m a Toastie who’s lived with bipolar disorder my whole life and I’m commenting to boost this. Kanye is a lot of people’s first and only impression of bipolar disorder, perpetuating hurtful misconceptions and providing a negative role model to bipolar people. Mania is not something to brush aside as a PR gimmick or creative process. Medication and treatment should be sought at all costs within one’s means. Anti-black and anti-Semitic comments are inexcusable, even if said while manic. What sucks is that his status and platform have put him on a pedestal where no one challenges him. His spiritual and social delusions go unchecked. This is the worst possible scenario for anyone with mental illness. The episodes come, go, come, go, until the line between the “real you” and the “manic you” or “depressed you” gets smeared into oblivion. I am unconvinced that he’s been euthymic in the public eye for at least 6 or 7 years. If he keeps going like this, he’ll continue to influence droves of impressionable fans, pushing them to potential violence through his hateful diatribes. And for him, the path to recovery will grow ever-harder. The average age of death for bipolar males is in your late 60s. More of this, and his brain will burn like charcoal and fizzle out, his heart may suffer cardiac arrest, or an impulsive decision will cost him his life. This is no joke. For his sake and others, Kanye West must lose his platform.
I also have bipolar disorder. Completely agree with you. I've blown up my own life plenty of times but I've managed to never tear down jewish or black folks while doing it. I don't know about platforming or deplatforming but I do know he had resources to get help and chooses not to. At a certain point somebody with bipolar has to to medicate thenself if they're so out of control while manic. Medication can really help and depending on what it is it won't decrease creativity or anything like that, it just evens you out.
There may be no one inside his immediate circle of friends/family and hanger-ons that will judge him out right or to his face, But I guarantee you he's being judged by public opinion. And just because he has bipolar disorder doesn't mean he speaks for everybody with that condition...Just like the local alcoholic doesn't speak for everybody who drinks
Yup. Mental illness dose not make you racist. You van be racist and have a mental illness. I have had acute ptsd since age 5. I do sometimes have mania. I’ve never liked Kanye, and probably never will. But as much as I despise him, there’s something kinda sad about all this. It’s like watching an addict sacrifice everything and everyone good in their life for the high. Kanye’s drug of choice is attention, and it this point it doesn’t matter if it’s good or bad, it just has to be loud. Like I said, it’s hard to feel much pity for a rich man with a huge platform. But to watch someone sacrifice their family, friendships, and accomplishments just to hear strangers talk about them, it’s just kinda sad.
I said I didn't like him on their other video about him and the amount of people who called me a liar was freaking hilarious. Talked about how he was basically a freaking profit. People are nuts.
Well said. Kanye gets a lot of pass from us black people because we say that he's a genius. The only thing I will add to what you said is this: I think Kanye belongs to a mental institution. He's becoming a cancer for the black community.

Kanye Is all the way at the bottom of the sunken place. He could also tell his fanbase the truth is at the bottom of a cliff and they would jump right off.
This is what happens when, through wealth and people too afraid to challenge you, you end up in a bubble where you aren't challenged. You get caught up in an echo chamber of one
American interviewers a lot of times don't want to challenge the person they are interviewing out of fear that they won't come back on their show if they piss them off, especially when they are celebrities that bring in ratings. Unfortunately, American media has set this precedent for our celebrities and politicians whereas in the rest of the world the expectation is that the entire point of the interview is to challenge the person being interviewed even if you are partial to them.
@@Marcus-kc9wc Such maturity... @@LumumbaKShakur I honestly don't care about the details. Hes not the only black person a cop has killed and got away with it with just a paid slap on the wrist. There's no reason why blks should have to grovel to other races for their opinions.
Is he really talented, though? He sampled stuff and put drum beats behind it. It's not like he plays an instrument. He doesn't even write most of the lyrics. He's very good at repackaging other people's talent and branding it as his own. Just like trump.

@@antarchy1 i don’t agree with Ye at all, but to say that sampling or music production doesn’t require talent isn’t necessarily true. It takes a lot of work to find what mixes correctly and how to layer sounds around it. Let alone create new sounds as well. As someone who dabbles in the music world, these people are very talented.
@@antarchy1 Kanye is a billion dollar tycoon who made most of his fortune in other ventures outside of music. How is Kanye West sampling in music any different from Tarantino who is always recreating scenes from older genre films and modernizing them for a younger generation?
As an old Kanye fan, I know it's hard for people to accept and move on from someone we've enjoyed for decades. Just keep in mind that you can still love his old music and what he used to be and acknowledge that the man is no longer the guy who just gave great music. People change and not always for the better
Well, you can like someone's music and still call them out on their B.S. It isn't the first time some of my favorite said or did something off the wall.Appreciating art and approving someone's action are two different things.

I am not defending kanye but he did make some good points in that interview once again i am not defending him I am not but is possible for us to listen and just be objective?
There’s a difference between free-speech, and inciting hate. I think people continuously blur those lines. I’m glad that DT spoke on how the situation with Kanye differs from Alex Jones; even though their ideologies might be similar.
No, there isn't. Hate speech is purely subjective and contextual and as such that line is blurred by those who speak, and those who capitalize off victimhood.
Anyone supporting Kanye is wild. You have a whole coroner saying homicide but then you have rapper/designer saying it’s not like that’s anywhere near his profession.

Kanye "Hold my beer" West. Much like Alex Jones, dude lost his already insane mind the minute they started to befriend Trump and just when lower ever since.
As you all pointed out, Kanye West and black people like him create these massive platforms for themselves at the expense of their own people. Obviously, Candace Owens is another prime example. Especially, with these two seen together recently in the White Lives Matter clothing. When I was a Liberty student back in the day, I remember her speaking at one of the convocation events. I can't lie, I found her kind of attractive. However, when she started talking...oh boy...she's the type of person where I'll follow what she's saying for a bit and even nod my head in agreement for like the first couple of sentences. By the time she gets to sentence number 3, I'm completely baffled because of what comes out of her mouth. Kind of like that drunk relative at family functions where they tell a story, but then it turns into complete nonsense before they're even halfway through 😂 That's not to say there aren't SOME things I agree with her on. The part where Candace loses me (and people like her) is when she acts like there isn't racism or police brutality towards black people AT ALL. These statistics, charts, algorithms, etc. that she uses don't seem to include REAL LIFE encounters HER OWN PEOPLE deal with on a day-to-day basis with law enforcement or anyone with power to abuse others. This is why these kinds of black people are DANGEROUS. Obviously, there are white people who don't think black people struggle when it comes to everyday scenarios, they go through without difficulty like not being followed in a store or not fearing for their life during a traffic stop. When you have two black people with huge platforms say things about "Oh, slavery wasn't that bad...", "Georgy Floyd didn't die due to a cop...", "Black people need to stop complaining..." or "Racism is a myth..." a lot of white people will agree because these are black people who are saying what they think out loud. What really needs to be stated is that Kanye, Candace or whoever DOESN'T SPEAK FOR ALL BLACK PEOPLE!

The same doctor who said "It was the knee that killed George Floyd" also litteraly said, under oath, that if he hadn't seen the video, he'd have filed the probable cause to be an overdose, which turned out to fit the amount of substances then found in his bloodstream, because everything did fit perfectly with drugs as probable cause. Which effectively means that the knee (or absence of knee, whatever) isn't irrifutable evidence, as the evidence still allows for drugs be the cause of death. Given the camera evidence, that knee may or may not be a more probable cause of death, but, the point is, the evidence does not allow for an irrefutable conclusion.

American interviewers a lot of times don't want to challenge the person they are interviewing out of fear that they won't come back on their show if they piss them off, especially when they are celebrities that bring in ratings.
Kind of like that drunk relative at family functions where they tell a story, but then it turns into complete nonsense before they're even halfway through 😂
That's not to say there aren't SOME things I agree with her on.
A lot of men especially in Hip Hop do that guy code thing where they think it's disrespectful to correct each other and hold each other accountable.
