And if you’re gay….at least when I was teaching, you got the axe if you were caught, which was bad policy. I'm a custodian for schools and... I can't believe she felt comfortable doing this. All staff can access the school at any time. Sometimes there's afterschool programs on the weekend. When my dad lost his well-paying job and we were suddenly a 6 person family on a Catholic school teacher’s salary, my dad took a part time job and was trying to find a stable full time job and my mom picked up a second and third job. They both worked incredibly hard to provide for their family, without jeopardizing their futures to make quick cash.
What really annoys me is that she CHOSE to be a teacher. And all that it encompasses. Just as I as a nurse, chose my profession no matter the perks or negatives of it. I’m in high school, and I’m doing honors English to try to become an English teacher. The fact that most teachers nowadays act like this because of internet clout is so gross. I always had a lot of bad teachers which made me hate school, so I want to become one, so I can give other students a better experience.
Until you deal with 20-30 kids for 7 hours a day, 5 days a week, for a decade+ and grow jaded and mean just like every teacher over the age of 35. Its a thankless job. The kids tend to hate you because you're the person who has to give them homework, and the school pays you jack shit for your babysitting hours. Its a depressing reality.
Don't go to some expensive school to get your degree. All teaching degrees are the same and All teachers get paid peanuts and private school teachers get paid even less. @@v4n1ty92 I have an AP Calc BC and AP Comp Sci A teacher who no one hates cause they're generous and teach well. Granted we're all juniors and seniors so we have less "freshmen energy". I'd say it can age you but if you do well the job isn't so bad. Also the average teacher salary is 60k (and if you're in the top quartile you get around 80k), so the pay is actually kinda fine in most cases

I watched this and I cannot emphasize enough how LUCKY I am to have the teachers I have today. When my dad lost his well-paying job and we were suddenly a 6 person family on a Catholic school teacher’s salary, my dad took a part time job and was trying to find a stable full time job and my mom picked up a second and third job. I’m in high school, and I’m doing honors English to try to become an English teacher. The fact that most teachers nowadays act like this because of internet clout is so gross. I always had a lot of bad teachers which made me hate school, so I want to become one, so I can give other students a better experience.
Until you deal with 20-30 kids for 7 hours a day, 5 days a week, for a decade+ and grow jaded and mean just like every teacher over the age of 35. Its a thankless job. The kids tend to hate you because you're the person who has to give them homework, and the school pays you jack shit for your babysitting hours. Its a depressing reality.
Don't go to some expensive school to get your degree. All teaching degrees are the same and All teachers get paid peanuts and private school teachers get paid even less. You might get paid $60k a year, but then you pay a lot of it to taxes. Living cost is ever increasing, but the teachers salary ain't. So, keep these points in mind.

@@v4n1ty92 I have an AP Calc BC and AP Comp Sci A teacher who no one hates cause they're generous and teach well. Granted we're all juniors and seniors so we have less "freshmen energy". I'd say it can age you but if you do well the job isn't so bad. Also the average teacher salary is 60k (and if you're in the top quartile you get around 80k), so the pay is actually kinda fine in most cases

The main problem with modern teachers is that they aren't really teachers. Its no longer about the children, its about them and their views and feelings.
When I went to school 100 years ago, we didn't know a single thing about any of our teachers. The boyish gym teacher was thought to be gay until she got pregnant but other than that we didn't have any thoughts about their personal lives.

I watched this and I cannot emphasize enough how LUCKY I am to have the teachers I have today. I have two English tutors whom I have been taking classes with since I was about seven(I’m seventeen now) and honestly, they were some of the best people I’ve ever met. It hurts me to see some ‘teachers’ out there are acting like this only for the paychecks. Shame.

This reminds me of a incident that happened at my school. Our ex-vice principal and the ex-basketball ball coach (both guys) got caught up packing fudge in the coaches truck.
