Minutes before she was murdered I don't think Maggie thought she was going to die that day.. He voice sounded so light hearted when she announced Bubba has a bird in his mouth. And Paul was absorbed in Cash and Cashes tail. Thank God for Cash, his attentive owner and Paul's friendship. Those three exposed the murderer.

Good observation. There was no anger or any hint of something about to go awry. There could have been one or two people hiding somewhere and waiting for the chance to get to Paul. Many people had it out for that family. I'm still not 100% on a guilty verdict.

My husband was a prosecutor for 43 years and prosecutors just don't think like a juror. My husband would often ask me what I would look for during an investigation. I was a post-operative nurse and a artist therefore I've always have been a very detail oriented person. There were many times I came up with things that ended up being very pertinent in the investigation!

I think the jury decided their verdict before the trial ever started. The evidence was not concrete & I've heard many attorneys say they wouldn't have brought this case because the evidence was mainly circumstantial & very little evidence he did it. Other than a recording where they said it's his voice. How did he do so much in so little time with zero blood in his house anywhere? He should have been covered in blood had he done the killings. I'm concerned someone else did this & they are being hidden or just not investigated. Shabby police work it would appear. Guilty for sure of alot but guilty with such a horrible killing...where's the motive. What did he gain from both deaths? Too many unanswered questions.

The snapchat video puts him at the Kennels minutes prior to the murders. He declared he wasn't at the Kennels until the snapchat video was retrieved. AM taking the stand was a mistake cause it might have been a hung jury if not. He was the last person to see them. His phone is silent (turned off) during the time of the murders, He claims to have checked the bodies but no blood anywhere on his clothing. His interviews he doesn't act like an innocent person. @Mary Coleman Well, I adamantly disagree with your disagreement.😅
Waters did say in a post-conviction after trial interview on CNN that letting AM go on&on for so long on the stand was bc he knew AM would expose his own lies. So he decided to let Alex talk himself right into a conviction.
Some of us recognized this as a smart strategy on Water's part as it was happening, but many did not.
Some began to recognize this as a clever strategy well before the guilty verdict. Some of those who initially saw it as a flawed cross, began to recognize it as being a clever strategy only AFTER the convinction, and some NEVER did.
But it was exactly this strategy that won the day.
You said so yourself, "thank god AM exposed his own lies." That would not have happened had Water's "controlled his witness."

Disagree. The prosecutor brought up prominence for so many reasons. He wanted the community to think he was a higher human than the comoners. A special entitled human. He believed he was a prominent elitist member of the community. He was so arrogant. He cared more about his "good name" and keeping his lifestyle going more than he cared about his wife and son. The family legacy. It turns out their family is worse than the average community family. Some bad genes there. He thought that killing his wife and son would keep him out of jail and continue the lie about himself and his "prominent" family. He was trying to save the "family " name. Not because he cared about his family, but because he cared about himself.

One very important fact that seems to be missed or not given the weight or attention it deserved is the fact that Alex requested, or maybe even demanded, that both Maggie and Paul be at Moselle that night. He used his father's failing health condition to lure Maggie back and he used wanting the area/grounds cleaned up I believe due to an upcoming hunting expedition with his friends forcing/demanding Paul be there to get it done that night. So Maggie comes back only to have Alex go visit his mother without her. They don't even go to see his father. So where's the urgency of having her back at the Moselle property? Paul arrives home as ordered and whether or not he cleaned what was requested of him, could that not have waited until the next morning/day? Again, where is the urgency that he be there that night? It is more than obvious exactly why Alex needed them both to be there that night. My opinion only.

There has been no evidence that Maggie was consulting a divorce attorney. Her own sister gave evidence under oath in the courtroom that Maggie was happy, whatever happy means. Some women are so invested in “living large” that they close their eyes to facts surrounding them. It could not have escaped her attention that she was married to a very self centered man. Her beloved son Paul was out of control and very likely would be serving many years in prison. It all ended in tragedy for everyone.

2 things stumped me on this case-
He says he was taking 50K in drugs a week. Lets do the math. Street price of the drug he was on is around $20 a pill. Lets go big & say he took 10 a day. That's $200 daily. Lets say he was taking another with roughly the same cost. We are now up to 20 pills daily @ $400 for a day habit. That's a $2800 weekly habit- that is not 50k a week, like was said by defense. That's me calculating him popping 2 every other hour 24/7. Where the heck did all that money go. My guess, someone will find out or come forward to tell where it all went.
Second- he called Maggie to come over from the beach to come see who? his daddy who was put into the hospital that day, cause he was dying. She drives over to meet him so they can go. What does he do, he don't stop to pick her up to go to the hospital with him, heck, he don't even go to the hospital, he goes to his mom's- and she ain't even dyin'.
Red flag right there, not goin' to daddy's hospital bedside that night. Her sister said she didn't even want to go. Alex just leaves her at the kennels with Paul after she drove an hour to go with him to see him just to go check on his mom instead. We will never know if he actually did this or someone helped him but either way = guilty.
But oh Paul, you did get the last word didn't you.

That's my thought on it, he didn't bring her to see his dad.

When deliberations started, only 9 were voting guilty, 2 were voting not guilty, and 1 was undecided.....so no, it WASN'T way beyond a reasonable doubt. Even AFTER the verdict and sentencing, even Maggie's Sister is still not convinced Alex did this...get real. There are those of us who feel the lack of any tangible evidence/forensic evidence leaves doubt. This case was decided on strictly suspicion , allegation, and assumption... and the “court of public opinion “ via all these outside media such as Netflix and HBO ( which are not necessarily fact based, they’re put together by biased entities). I would have voted not guilty as well....due to this fact and the Judge's juror instructions and the way our system is designed (innocent until PROVEN guilty beyond doubt), when there is any doubt whatsoever then the benefit goes to the defendant. That is a juror's duty.

@@debbiebradley-spicer8524 Apparently, that is why Judge Newman in his instructions to the Jury... PRIOR to their deliberations... made clear the weight of "Circumstantial" evidence.
Not to be ignored by anyone, it is Alex Murdaugh himself confessed that he is a proven chronic LIAR. The most important LIE in regard to the MURDERS of his wife Maggie and son Paul... was his epic LIE about not being at the kennels with Maggie and Paul at the time of the murders! Call it "coincidence" or whatever you may choose... but the hardcore factual physical evidence was the recording on Paul's phone with the voice of Alex present! Personally, I call that a clear example of unintended "Karma" style self-defense on Paul's part... OR... I happen to believe it was clear example of "Divine Intervention" to expose the TRUTH of the horrific act that took place at the time Maggie, Paul and Alex were in FACT all at the scene of the crime when it happened. Circumstantial evidence... along with Common Sense... provided the Jurors whether innocence or guilt in short order. While the Jurors opinions were not likely a clone of 12 people... the deliberations did provide the time to be certain that their verdict would be unanimous... as it was reported.
