    Nice. What also matches very well is a Trangia 27 that perfectly fits into the Tatonka 2.5 (stainless pot + pan). And I'm running my Trangia with an Optimus Polaris multifuel burner. With the legs folded in it's cilindric shape fills the whole quite nice without any modifications.

    I came across your video while researching the 725-24 frypan and the 1.4l kettle. You convinced me - ordered both from Trangia via the 'seconds' store. So far only used them at home but they are brilliant, definite upgrades. Thanks for the info. My extended 25 kit is the 4.5l billy pot around the 25. I hold the billy pot closed with an Arno strap. You can find these on Amazon. I run it through the loop on the lid and through the gap on the side where the bail handle connects. Also I add the Primus 25cm stainless steel skillet to the bottom and an old household pan lid on the top. It all fits inside the canvas bag that came with the Primus pan. I will try to do a video soon.

    Hi Matthias, I finally got to try that gas burner you recommended in another of your videos, and it worked perfectly; Thanks very much!! I used it first to steam bake some Packit Gourmet chocolate muffins (so good I'm not entirely sure they're legal!), and then a pot of sausage & chicken Orzo pasta. All simmered perfectly! So tack igen!

      @alexmacdonald258 3 роки тому

      @@Braapncamp Don't have any videos, but the Orzo was easy-a one pot dinner. For 2 people, I browned some spicy Italian sausage and diced chicken thigh, added diced onions, and deglazed the larger Trangia pot with chicken stock. Then about a half cup of tomato sauce and brought it to a boil. I tossed in a scant cup of Orzo pasta, a little more salt, reduced the heat and let it simmer until the pasta absorbed the chicken stock. I had to add more stock, and frequently had to stir to keep the mix from sticking to the bottom of the thin wall pot though. I also chopped some spinach and added that when the pasta was almost done. Then I added a handful of parmesan, mixed it into the pasta, and plated it with a large spoon of ricotta cheese in the middle. Filling, and very good! I'm working up a bunch of easy one-pot meals to help us cut down the costs of our skiing. We drive 4.5 hours one way, and stay in a hotel where we ski, so not having to dine out really helps our costs so we can ski more often-this is Alpine, but Nordic, I can just step out my back door!

      Mattias Eriksson My father usually cooked this Chili recipe in the Fall when it first started to get cold outside. In a large pot cook 2lbs of beef, add one large diced onion, when the meat starts to brown. Add 20 oz tomatoes and 15 oz of tomato sauce from the canned food section. Then stir in 16 oz of kidney beans. The rest of the recipe is the seasoning:1/3 cup of chili powder, 1/2 tsp cumin, 2 tsp oregano powder, 2 tsp paprika, 2 tsp salt and 3 tsp minced garlic. Bring it to a boil then simmer for 40 minutes. Serve warm with shredded cheese, diced onions and sour cream.

    I really like your videos. You cover Trangia products thoroughly. The Swedes make great stove products. However this set up is too heavy and bulky for backpacking. The outdoor industry is changing to lighter and less bulky products. I wish Trangia would make a one & two man cooking pot system smaller and with titanium. If they would I would buy it in a heart beat. Primus made the Omni Lite Ti and I purchase it. I love the light

    • @Braapncamp
      @Braapncamp  2 роки тому +4

      Thanks! I wonder if not Trangia made a Ti version of the Trangia Mini (T28)? Limited numbers. I use the T28 for alot of adventure where I like lower weight and volume of the stove. I know that yhe industrie goes for the lightweight stove to boil water with to use dehydrared meals. I think Trangia definitely should srick to their classic design, development som of it and ofc offer a minimalist system. In this spring they will introduce the Micro Trangia.

    • @ericice1751
      @ericice1751 2 роки тому +1

      I agree, keep the classic system great for base camping and even for canoe or packing slide in winter where weight and bulk is less crucial. Trangia has such a great reputation. I believe they could make a awesome ultra light titanium cooking kit that would sell big time.

    Hi Mattias, greetings from UK!
    Great video with a lovely background views and sounds. Very useful information about options for the Trangia cook sets.
    I have the Trangia 27 but I would like to try the 24cm frying pan for occasionally making pancake for the family. Would this pan fit on the pot supports of the Trangia 27? Or is it way much bigger and would loose efficiency? Let me know your thoughts.
    Reason my asking is that I could justify purchasing the 24cm frying pan for those occasions, but the entire 25 coolest I think would be too much investment for very little use.
    Thank you.

    • @Braapncamp
      @Braapncamp  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks! The 24cm pan is to big for the 27. It won't be stable on top. Heat should not be the problem though. Better to get i.e. a Muurikka Picnic and plan for open fire cooking at these occasions. If that is possible for your hikes.

  • @jkk103
    @jkk103 3 роки тому

    Thank you for sharing this video! I really like the idea of expanding the use without adding too much bulk to the existing stoves. One question...have you tried adding a larger pan to the 27’s top or base like you did with the 25? I am thinking of getting the 27 but afraid the pan diameter is too limiting for two people. The billy pot might be great for stew but might not work best for frying burgers, eggs, etc.

    • @Braapncamp
      @Braapncamp  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks! No I have not expanded the 27 with a larger frypan. I tested the 25 frypan but it does not sit well on the frypan stands. I would be interested in that too since I think that the frypans size is the only drawback on the 27.

      @@Braapncamp Thanks for the quick reply, Mattias. I have seen some people prop a larger pan up with a small metal grill rack, but I did wonder if the 25 pan fits. If you only have one stove in the 27 size, would you go HA or duossal for the same price? I do worry about sticky surface/difficulty cleaning but not sure if it’s worth the extra weight.

    • @Braapncamp
      @Braapncamp  3 роки тому +3

      I would probably go with the HA. There is no significant difference in how they behave regarding cleaning and cooking. If I should buy a 25 and use it for basecamp, vehicle based use etc, i would go with the Duossal. You cant really go wrong and if you later would like a nonstick or Duossal frypan you can always complement for a reasonable cost. Spares are low priced.

    Jag handlade en sådan större stekpanna efter att ha sett din video och hört dig säga att den passar perfekt!
    Den passar skit dåligt rent ut sagt då diametern på basen emot piggarna är för stor för att ligga platt men för liten för att lägga på de 3 översta små platåerna.
    Summering: 24cm stekpanna ifrån trangia passar inte perfekt på 25 kök då den hamnar snett och har stor risk för att vinklas och därmed spilla ut din mat.
