I swapped my, seemingly universally revered, Wharfedale Lintons with the seemingly globally maligned (that is: since killjoy Erin mesured them in his corner) Q-Acoustics 5040's plus a modest sub. No regrets.
Randy is a breath of fresh air. He bothers to point out how different manufacturers have a different flavor or style of sound, and that your own ears and opinion matter.
@@land.1368 Key point. Randy doesn't take it all that seriously either. His opinion is entertainment and you can do with it as you will. That being said, Randy has personality and character on a level that simply isn't present on this channel.
@@NightFlight1973I don't agree. He has never made me laugh. This channel does so frequently. You do know that this is humour? Randy is an annoying individual. At first he had some charm, doing reviews on a shaky table and rolling with the chaos while getting some kind of opinion on audio across. But I can't seem to take his opinion seriously and I think the surge in views has gotten to his head a bit.
The closer the more intimate the sound plus its good for the environment... just hug a speaker it's far better than some damn hippy hugging a tree... that don't do jack for nature.
Randy rarely mostly never gets anything wrong, except for when he does, but that's only almost mostly ne-vah! Using THX headroom in your crown amplifier power calculations, in my opinion is completely misleading---in fact, you did not use the correct number in your misleading example as THX db standard is 20db not 22db. Actual amplifier "headroom" is a myth as there is absolutely no engineering standard to measure "headroom". I should know as I'm an electrical engineering professor and former owner and designer of audio equipment specializing power amplifier design. If you rerun the crown calculator with your numbers but with 0db and 3db (industry accepted amp headroom) you get 1 watt and 2 watts power requirement---"randy is right"
Might want to watch this - ua-cam.com/video/jZaPgFhMI_0/v-deo.html. Randy isn’t just wrong, he’s not even in the ballpark, and thus is with 3db headroom.

I agree with Scientific Audiophile that Randy is indeed right in this video.
Randy has found the "Yamaha Sound" you're just jealous of him. 🍷 I rate this video a chardonnay 🍷
Randy likes bright speakers because he has hearing loss. Randy's first reviews were good, but I can't stand listening to him anymore.
Apart from anything else, stopped watching Randy because he became incredibly annoying.
I'm pretty sure he says he likes buttery sound though 😶🌫️🤦🏿♂️😜

He knows his stuff when it comes to power cables though. You really can hear the ohms on the audioquest.
