I love your husband's comment about the veil and how he sees it as a part of being your protector. Society has moved too far away (IMHO) on ideal that the man SHOULD be the head of family.
When Valerie said her husband was welcoming and made people feel comfortable, I could totally see that. His personality comes across as warm and friendly.
Glad Chip agreed to this. This was a great video! You are both so warm and funny❤️ In regards to headship I think of it as that God has given Chip power TO (protect provide promote etc) not power OVER (boss belittle etc) you. Thanks to all who submitted great questions!
That was a fun video! What a sweet couple. It's a precious time as you get to know one another and sort out life as a married couple. God bless you, both!!
Love when Mennonite/Amish do videos like this! It lets the rest of the world know just how normal you guys are! I’m southern Baptist and we are honestly a lot alike! I don’t wear the head covering or wear dress/ skirts all the time, but my mother in law does both at our southern Baptist church (she use to be Mennonite) and no one looks at her differently. It’s just her personal convictions and everyone loves and respects her!
Good job guys!:) you made it interesting... I have a single at my house and I tell her the same advice just live life to it’s fullest potential w joy, she has lots of dreams and ambitions, but I think of it more these days, they need our support and affirmation.
Hello Valerie and Chip This is a brilliant video, and Chip didn't need to be nervous he did really well. You are both such a lovely couple and don't worry about arguments we all have them during our married life, the main thing is NEVER go to sleep on an argument. (The Vicar said this to me when I got married 45 years ago) 😲 we are now growing old together. Always laugh and always care for each other. Take care and keep safe both of you. God bless you both.👵
How interesting that your husband speaks Dutch! Does he read it too? If so: Hoi Chip en Valerie, ik bekijk met plezier jullie video's. God's zegen voor jullie prachtige gezin!
Thanks! Odds are they will speak mostly English since I’m the one that would be with them all day. I would love for them to at least understand it though!
Good job! Keep inspiring others. My husband can talk Dutch too n I can't. My dad could but not my mom so never learned. I remember being so annoyed one time cause I had my husband's uncles n aunts for him n they talked Dutch all afternoon! Too me it felt rude. But they were so used to it they would forget!🤣
I would love to know what the conclusion of your argument was about kids paychecks, my husband and I are both 65 and talk about this numerous times. We charged both our kids(sons) a certain amount per month (very minimal) to live at our house after they got out of school and had a job, we saved that money for their wedding reception, we had above that cost to give them in cash and their smiles when we told them what we did was a delight, they of course knew nothing about what we were doing. We would do it all over again if we could!!
Too bad about that Browns loss :) I was rooting for them. This was fun, I hope you do another sometime! I think we got to see more of your personality, Valerie.
Great video! I have a question! is it common for someone that leaves the Amish community to keep in touch with their family? I always heard anyone who leaves the Amish is shunned by the rest of them??? Idk if this is a rude question??? Just curious and genuinely don’t know!
Not a rude question at all! It all depends on what type of Amish you are as to whether they will shun you or not. That’s what my husband said lol to be honest, I’m not extremely educated on it since I was never Amish 🙈
hey Valerie! My latest video is about my boyfriend breaking his spine and how Jehovah saved him!!! I arranged the song and recorded all 4 parts. Feel free to watch it!! It is my voice to the world that Jehovah can do anything!!
I was taught not to ask people when they will have kids because you never know if they can’t. I think that was good advice from my parents!
Yeah that actually is good advice!
I really respect that advise, when you expiring infertility and get those questions, it really hurts!
Yeah, it's not really anyone's business anyway! Lol
We got that question all the time. It was so painful because we really wanted kids but were unable to. People need to be more polite and sentitive.
@@abgorden I feel you

The first question was mine, thank you for answering :) Chip, do you think you will teach your children dutch?
This was a great video so much fun.

That’s awesome! We decided not to go into it cause we were afraid it would get a little lengthy 😂 we DID come to a common ground though 😉
@@ValerieKeim Ha Ha! Rest assured that stuff will still be going on when you are 65
My husband is from Ohio! Middle of state ,Morrow county
Yeah Valerie
Too bad about that Browns loss :) I was rooting for them. This was fun, I hope you do another sometime! I think we got to see more of your personality, Valerie.

Oh I have 3 brothers as well😊
Awesome! Brothers are so fun!
Think you’ll treat us to a Christmas song on the piano?
I don’t know, maybe? 🤷🏼♀️😁
