The torture moment...
My fingers remember.
Zoro Roronoa Pfft... that was easy.. I just grabbed a toy car and ride over the triangle button with the wheel of the toy car over and over.
Zoro Roronoa peace walker version...my psp remeber that...
Zoro Roronoa i had to restart the whole game because I didnt want Meryl to die
Krzysztof Bajorski I feel your pain and my PSP too
Marco Martins i think i was doing that part for about hour....yea....even peace walker custom was easier!
The ladder and "the end" in mgs3, using the sword in mgs2, and fox's massacre in the hallway in mgs1.
Omg macie jay!!
Didn't know u play other games beside R6S 😄
You couldn’t be more accurate 💯
Big Bosses torture scene where he loses his eye should have been mentioned in my opinion.
That was brutal.
4real they trippin
What? I thought ocelot shoot his eye
Yeah these were the most difficult 11 minutes in his life, I still don't know how the .44 caliber didn't come out the back of his skull because at that close range, it should've killed John but I'm glad it didn't.
@@hiraprxc2569 it was accident, the bullet was meant for Big Mama AKA Eva (that blonde beautiful nerd of a woman who fell in love with John) but John intervened because she risked her life trying to protect him, John tried to disarm Ocelot but it didn't work as the revolver was tilted while Ocelot pulled the trigger releasing the bullet into John's right eye.
Are you fucking kidding me, the part of MGS2 where Raiden is naked is placed higher than BIG BOSS' DEATH. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS.
AQUA - チャンネル Exactly!
I dont even play the game(only ground zeroes) and I agree
B briggs prob If you never beat any of the MGS game then you shouldn't watch this video
I cried at the end of MGS3
if you didn't cry you'd be a cold dead hard man.
best cutscence in the entire gaming history, in my opinion
+Khôi Trần Anh definitely. R1 😢😢
I never cried In any game or any movie because it will makes me a cry baby
Same here man 😭
Ocelot is the first boss that Big Boss fight and the last to Solid Snake!
Yeah a good way to go pitting the first as the last the Past ( Ocelot) vs The Present
Hegel solis Technically it's Liquid Snake in Ocelot's body.
Featherman R Actually at the end of MGS4 he said he was faking it the whole time to get closer to the patriots and disguise his true intentions of destroying them. When he said "I was Liquid's doppelganger", that means he was pretending the whole time to be Liquid.
Gheist True
Gheist Really? Too bad I didn't reach the ending and just skipped to peace walker.
Like The Phantom Pain or not. That mirror scene at the end was something else entirely.
Phantom Pain was a great game with a bad, incomplete story. The gameplay was some of the best in gaming history. It really needed more "moments" to it and better fights. I hated how they hyped up the games second half in that one preview only to kinda dump it. For me, the only moments that really stood out was the prologue (holy shit that was insane and intense and omfg one of the best openings in gaming imo), the scene where boss comes across the burning building with the infected child, the scene where boss finds the child soldiers, the mirror at the end, and the scene where mother base gets infected. If it could have had a better and more existant story, more dialogue, better fights, and more levels such as the opening, i would seriously consider it to be the greatest game ever from an objective standpoint. But konami happened.
Freedom Fries and Toast I agree with you I got the phantom pain like 6 months ago or 4 and its story was poor but it had so many sad parts like Venom snake seeing Paz but its just a illusion and the shining lights even in death the death of Paz really made me sad though
R.I.P. Paz Angel of peace 😔😔
It is impossible to hate any of Metal Gear games and all of them are complete af🤝
That mirror scene was the scene we all wanted from the last Metal Gear game
Old Snake vs Liquid Ocelot brings the feels for me. Two old soldiers, battered and beaten, finishing the fight towards the end of their lives. The setting, the music, and the fighting is probably the most memorable scene I have in my head from any media I've ever seen.
I love the Metal Gear Solid 3 opening intro with the snake eater song. It reminded me of James Bond a lot.
Honorable Mention: rescuing Hideo Kojima in MGS Ground Zeroes.
Andy Azael Pretty cool, but you can also recruit him in Peace Walker so it was kinda the second time around.
Andy Azael The only good thing in this mission is that you can kill him.
Oliver Queen F**k you! what's so good about that you f**kin douchebag!
Because kojima is a hack fam
Ok, here's the complete chronological order of the Metal Gear Saga
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Metal Gear
Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Thought I would make this list for anyone who is thinking of playing through the Metal Gear games who didn't know where to start.
#FucKonami
Also, like if you are hyped for Death Stranding!
You forgot portable ops, it takes place after mgs3 and before peace walker.
JacolbyPoole Portable Ops isn't canon in the mainline Metal Gear Saga. I also thought it was for a time until I found out it really wasn't.
Kojima said its canon just not part of the main series since he didnt direct it, was involved with writing and producing it though and it was supposed to be part of the core series but he was disappointed in many of the mechanics in the end which is why he directed everything with Peacewalker to make up for Portable Ops, it is canon, just not necessary , according to Kojima, the even mention it in both Peacewalker and Guns of the Patriots
wht about mgr
thatguy vacan Not canon either.
You should have mentioned how the game waits for you to pull the trigger and kill The Boss.
JustThatAwesome777 Yeah, not only was the sound effect actually louder than regular shots, the whole scene is very quiet before you do it. When I finally figured out that I had to shoot her it took me a few moments to actually do it. That scene was perfection and I'll never forget it.
I slammed my controller thinking it broke down because I didn't know that I was supposed to press the fire button!
I intentionally waited to pull the fire button. I didn't want her to die. Something that simple was not an easy thing to do
Ahh.. Can't forget about that moment.
It was the saddest moment, me realizing what I had to do after waiting for a bit
MGS3 on a whole is probabls still my favourite of the series. Great game, great setting, awesome story and full to the brim of hilarious moments and eastereggs. Those radio conversations with the Major, Para-Medic and Sigint were pure comedy gold.
SPOILER:
Which makes it even more heartbreaking that those likeable characters turned out the way they did, with the Major becoming the main villain, Sigint becoming the DARPA chief and Para-Medic performing sick human experiments on Frank Jaeger. Especially the part about Para-medic hurts, as she was such a lovable goofball.
Ikr???! And I cannot WAIT until MGS V The Phantom Pain comes out!!!!!!!!
WAIT SIGINT BECOMES THE DARPA CHEIF! AND PARA MEDIC! I knew about zero(duh) but I didn't know that the other two. Wow. What a dark turn for paramedic
***** MGS3 as a whole is my favourite game not only in the series, but out of any game I've ever played and sadly nothing has come close. It felt very satisfying taking out the Cobra Unit one by one, the voice acting was top notch(though this has never really been a problem in the MGS games), the Shagohod launching from the blown up bridge with the epic music playing as he lands back on the ground, but most of all, the salute!
Albert Martinez Yeah, and while playing MGS 3 again, I noticed there are several radio conversations she has with Snake foreshadowing what becomes of her.
***** which conversations are you talking about?
I think 'Naked Snake vs The End' should have at least been somewhere on the list.
XiBallisticsiX My favourite MGS Bossfight ever. Started replaying the game a few weeks ago and am now in the area before the fight begins and am just waiting for a nice hot and sunny day to play it. I know there are easy ways to beat him quickly, but I want to enjoy that fight.
***** it used to scare the shit out of me when i would turn around and he would be there watching me and sneaking up on him to get the moss camo is a bitch
It's my favourite boss fight in all of the MGS games, I love it.
My most favorite boss fight ever!
Yeah that shit is tight
Naked Raiden over the death of Big Boss? Really?
shapen360 they seem to have messed up Nanomachines
it's watch mojo what do you expect
Watchmojo put transformers energon on a top 10 transformers show list, what'd you expect
For me thats the most touching moment in any game.
This list is terrible
"I won't scatter your sorrow to the heartless seas. I will always be with you. Plant your roots in me."
*BEST SERIES EVER!*
Interesting placements but I think that the end of MGS3 when you realise the truth about the boss is better than her fight/death. And I was surprised that Sniper Wolf's death didn't make the list. I would have thought that it would make top 10 easy. The music in that scene is so memorable.
Please don't forget to do top 10 Metal Gear Characters, Themes and Games too Watchmojo!
***** Defo! Have you played the games yet? :D
***** Yeah, they really are inspiring! Make sure that do get round to playing them at some point! :)
***** Yes definitely! You can probably buy the entire collection on the PS network. MGS 1-3 have all been HD remastered once.
Yes, the genius behind MGS; Hideo Kojima originally intended to go into the film industry but then changed his mind and went into gaming. It really shows in his games :)
***** Yes absolutely! The amount of effort and detail that went into his stories are virtually unmatched! I'm just waiting for the collectors edition of MGSV to be released :}
MGS FTW!
6:59 Liquid OCALOT!
***** SNAKE!!!! OCALOT!!!! WHO THE FUCK IS OCALOT
And1998s You don't know who Ocelor is!!!?
And1998s STOP SWINGING YOUR GUN AROUND IN THE MEETING
Leg Bone Egoraptor was(still is) the best xD
I-i-i-it is a real animal, ye jackass
Kojima: The man who trolled the world.
The moment that master Miller was Liquid Snake the whole time in Metal Gear Solid definitely one of the best moments in gaming!
I need scissors! 61!
Kunkun OMG the alien speech though!
***** Makes me giggle every time xD
Does a raw blink on Hari Kari rock
***** Indeed! THAT'S where this list fucked up. I was amused playing as Naked Raiden but they really should have included moments where the A.I. was going haywire and your Codec being interrupted with so many FUCKING RANDOM WTF THINGS!! Lol
***** They should have added it onto the part where Raiden has to run naked. LIke "Oh yeah, also, your codec goes batshit crazy."
How the hell are Big Boss's death and the end of 3 not at the top?
wat...
I swear I laughed when he dropped his cigar as I thought it was his last though Big Boss or John is my 2nd favorite video game protagonist.
The Batman David Hayter (Big Boss) John Marston
Thank you
Where is the battle with The End?!?!?! Best Sniper/Stealth battle ever! Don't forget about capturing his parrot and the special way of defeating him!
Braeden Cooper the first time laying down for 10 min and it cutting to him sneaking up on you scared the crap out of me!
I played 2 times and killed early the second time
Big Boss's death (#8) should've been higher on the list. That moment had so many feels.
It fucked me over that Shadow Moses was an EXACT recreation
The destruction of mother base was the most shocking moment throught the whole MGS series for me, I've spent weeks trying to build it in peace walker so that they could just destroy it in ground zeroes??? Sooooo gonna murder ghost face (or what's his name) in The phantom pain.
Артем Орлин They Played Us Like A Damn Fiddle!
Артем Орлин I just wish they didn't reveal Mother Base' destruction in the trailers before the game even came out, it would have been way more tragic for me when i played the game and saw that for the first time but ya seriously. My friends and I spent our senior year of high school building up Mother Base, all that work and memories just crumbling away like that
SprintGlide dude... really? that scene is from Ground Zeroes
yes.... but in the trailers before they released ground zeroes, they revealed Mother Base being destroyed. So it wasn't as sad to watch when I played it since I already watched it happened from the trailer.
SprintGlide I see your point but every trailer will get spoilers
7:31 Number 1, respect moments in videogames history.
Best game series ever made. And I can guarantee nothing will EVER beat it. The story, the history, the characters and the emotions are all phenomenal! So sad that MGSV will be the last!
Good list, though return to Shadow Moses is easily my #1 or 2 memory of the MGS series. The flash backs were beautifully done and the music, my god the music.
I literally fucking cried during that section
Exploding Pancake My brother and I both teared up. My nephew was playing and didn't understand why. We tried to explain to him that we've been playing this series since before he was born and that moment was the perfect ending for snake.
Justin Carpenter im only 15, but i played mgs1 at 7, and went on through from there. I didnt understand much but when i finished the series and went back to it and focused on the story, it made a lot more sense. MGS4s story was horseshit, but that act had me in tears
I literally cry every time. I lost it at the camera.
Justin Carpenter yes!
for me is my number 1 of all time....all the graphic changes, PS1 Snake, seeing again
Shadow Moses in MGS4 always make me cry T-T
BEST SAGA EVER MADE
***** Best game and movie at the same time
shouldve included the "why are we still here" speech or venom snakes monologue of "i wont scatter your sorrow to the heartless sea"
This video came out before MGSV
What a great series. Number 4 was amazing. Shows up several times in this list
Number 9 is my favorite moment in the series. Incredible emotions when I realized we were going back and seeing shadow Moses in PS3 hd. Kojima is the truth
Duuuude, mgs3 will always be the best.
El Stink it is..
Uhhh.... No lmao
Some FuckinGuy uhh... yeah lmao
You clearly either haven't played them all. Or just aren't intelligent enough. Is ok baby.
Some FuckinGuy you’re right I’ve never played msg:po or rising but I’ve played all the others to include the original Metal gears for the 80s/90s
The boss fight with The End and the ladder from MGS3
I thought the attack on Mother Base from Ground Zeroes would have been mentioned.
At least a honorable mention.
Phantom Pain was even out yet at the time
King Poop Ground Zeroes was.
And Paz exploded
best list ever
the ladder isnt even a mention? you guys better watch out for cardboard boxes at your base WatchMojo. forgetting the ladder is an act of terrorism.
Dude the last 2 hours from MGS 2 should of been on here, that whole section is just crazy!
The AI Colonel's speech from "Sons of Liberty" plus the AI saying nonsensical things to Raiden.
I need scissors! 61!
aelic7 And something about flap-jaw space.
I'll do the fighting from here you can just go home
You have no idea how many times I turned off my system when that damn AI said to do it hahaha
Lt. J.G Pliskin I can imagine.
You know, I've never played a metal gear solid game, and after watching this, I feel like I've missed out. Are the earlier games hard to find nowadays? I have the urge to play the series now.
Check on Amazn (: ... That's where I got all mine from and they are very cheap (: .... When you play them.. I recommend playing them in the order they were released, NOT chronological according to story... There's a reason why the developers released the games as they did.... There's a reason why the (presumably) final MGS game is Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain where you play as Big Boss when he was driven to madness (and Solid Snake was only a child) ... rather than the final game being Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots... (Which is the last chronological game of MG) Where you Play as Old Solid Snake and Big Boss dies in the Resolution where everyone lives happily ever after.
Jacob Clepper honestly its one of the best game series ever and probably the best story out of any game defiantly try it out .
Sorry to say if you didn't play MGS from the first one to the last one you've missed out on the GREATEST video game series of all time
Thanks for the help guys. Definitely gonna pick up the collection for the PS3.
Jacob Clepper If you have a PS3, you can play them all, it's worth it too. MGS although the graphics aren't that good, the game has aged exceptionally well thanks to it's story, pace, and voice acting. MGS2 is quite a grind if I'm being completely honest. So are parts of MGS4, but over all, they're great games.
Best list watchmojo has done showcasing the best moments from the best game series!
1:14 "when you've had enough, press the surrender button" - when I get captured and tortured someday in afghanistan I'm going to appreciate when my realistic torturer tells me that...
when kids discover 4th wall breaking for the first time of their lives.
when a person on the internet that needs to feed an inflated ego unknowingly illustrates the Dunning-Kruger Effect.
I am now resistant to torture thanks to revolver ocelot
Oh come on! You didn't even give an honorable mention to Snake and Otacon's handshake in mgs2 or the scene from mgs1 where Otacon asks Snake if love can bloom on a battlefield? Those are some of my favorite scenes in the games. Oh well, to each his own I guess.
CreativeMind84 Snake and Otacon's handshake is part of Emma's death.
I cry errytime
Your number 4 will always be my personal number 1. Old Snake walking through that microwave hallway will always be my favourite scene in MGS history. It solidified every reason in a single scene why Solid Snake is a true hero, at least in my opinion.
Agent Of Providence This.
Solidified. No pun intended Kappa
cheese41103 Solidified indeed.
Agent Of Providence He was a true hero, but she was a true Patriot!
Agent Of Providence I still don't understand why he really needed to do that though. Doesn't Otacon just use the MK.2 to finish the job anyway? When he gets to the end of the microwave he just voms and sits there whilst the mk2 does the job...
I wouldn't have said Big Boss's death, I would have said his mere arrival. After completing MGS4 and getting that cutscene, seeing the trench coat and seeing Big Boss, i was shocked. Big Boss had become one of, if not, my favourite character in the MGS series after MGS3 and it was awesome to see him make peace with his son after the entire series. Still a huge jaw dropping moment to this day.
Thank you so much for doing this list. My favorite game franchise of all time :)
I think the code conversation where Solid Snake tells of him learning that Big Boss was his father in MGS 1 deserves some honorable mention.
dem feels ;_;
ikr
Marco Martins Another video I can't watch because I havent completed mgs4 or 1
***** whaaaaaaaaat????
Ryan Champ MSG1 though!?
Marco Martins BIG BOSS TT^TT EMMA and fucking liquid ocelot vs soild fucking snake
When Liquid Ocelot controls the System - in MGS4: Guns of the Patriots is one of my top moments
I grew up to these games. This was the best list you've ever done.
great to see this all back
MGS3, Snake Vs. The Sorrow
"Death is tragic, but life is miserable", BEST QUOTE EVER
the snake vs liquid ocelot fight looks ps4 quality.
MGS4 as a whole looks PS6 quality.
Reeve Isaacs Agreed haha!
Jimmy Russel You mean Snake vs Liquid Ocalot fight
Jimmy Russel Yeah the end fight scene was epic! Quite a few parts of MGS4 were way ahead of it's time!
***** He means ps7.
personal opinion i think you taking on the end is one of the best moments in the mgs series :)
Great list, the best memorable moments are on here!
For me:
1º Snake Eater Ending
2º Big Boss Death
3º Snake vs The Boss
4º MGS4 Act 3 Ending - "So long Snake..... Otacooooon!"
5º Crawling through the Microwave
6º Psycho Mantis Battle
7º Return to Shadow Moses
8º Snake vs Liquid Ocelot
9º Metal Gear Rex vs Metal Gear Ray
10º MGS2 Tanker Ending - "I'm Shalashaska, also called... Revover... Ocelot!"
7:00 "Ocalot"???
Kakyoin MILF Hunter
Your fucking name... It is the taste of a cherry donut boy.
at the end of mgs4 otacon saying "snake has had a hard life", thats is easily my third greatest moments
what a thrill, with darkness and silence through the night
the death of fortune where she stops all the bullets on the bridge
-MGS2 sons if liberty
I don't care what anyone has to say MGS4 is probably my favorite Metal Gear game. It's so effective that even just buying that game and knowing nothing about the series still made me feel so many things. It introduced me to how great the rest of the games were, and packs some of the best moments.
This game series is the best! I knew already that big boss vs. the boss would be the top moment.
The fact that you the player must pull the trigger on the boss makes it that much better. Usually in games the character would just be killed in a cutscene but when i realized that I was the one who had to pull the final trigger hit me harder than anything in the series had.
Still get goosebumps every time I see the end of MGS3.
Nah, when Snake salutes the Boss's grave and you realize what REALLY happened. Now that was a moment where I cried a little. No game since has topped MGS3.
Liquid Ocelots final boss fight was by far my favorite. The progression between games is beautiful.
Colonel: I hear it's amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on Hara-Kiri Rock. I need scissors! 61!
Kawanishi-Noseguchi, Kinunobebashi, Takiyama, Uguisunomori, Tsuzumigataki, Tada, Hirano, Ichinotorii, Uneno, Yamashita, Sasabe, Kofudai, Tokiwadai, Myoukenguchi.
No Peace Walker moments??
Sergio Ramirez I truly believe Peace walker is the best metal gear, but it doesnt have any memorable moments
Ricardo Ceron I don't know man, that part where Peace Walker is chasing the helicopter that is leading it into the sea and Big Boss is chasing after it with The Boss' old horse was pretty amazing to me. Especially since you yourself have to put a bullet in the horse, just like you had to with The Boss in MGS3. But now that you mention it, Peace Walker was amazing all around but didn't really have any significant moment in the game that years later makes you go, "MAN! I LOVED that part!" unlike moments like Returning to Shadow Moses in MGS4 or fighting Psycho mantis in MGS1 and so on.
Ricardo Ceron Heaven's Divide fight says hi
Sergio Ramirez CO-OPS are my favorite moments throughout the story and extra ops
Galloping after Peace Walker on the bosses old horse as snake screams? Snake desperately yelling at the white house as he tries to get them to call off the nuke? Snake running through the facility as he learns off Peace Walkers close launch as he guns down enemies and yells in exhaustion taking on a bomber chopper? Fighting the Chrysalis throughout the ruins covered in the flowers from the boss fight in MGS3? Fighting Peace Walker 3 times? The commendantes yelling VIC BOSS! as snake takes down coldman?
I'm so glad they put #9 on there. That was such an emotional moment for me. Having 'The Best Is Yet To Come' playing in the background was pure perfection. Having followed the series since Metal Gear, those flashbacks were like me having a flashback of my journey, just as it was for Snake, and how everything was coming full circle. The end was in sight and I both wanted and dreaded it.
Gray Fox's death scene was an obvious choice but you should have not used Twin Snakes. The voice acting is much better in the original. Frank's despairing voice had so much more emotion and pain when he admitted to killing Naomi's parents.
Hey Torres still after that anime, or did you hand it over?
@@typhoon109 took it with me to my grave
@@Lulu-ex7fc goood, "YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST LET ME KEEP MY ANIME YOU FUCKING SKUNK!!"
WHEN EMMA DIES!! DAMN i forgot about that scene!! Made me tear up when i was a kid.
this is the best list ive veer seen
Check out the Suggest Page for this video to find out how the Mojoholics:
watchmojo.com/suggest/Top+10+Metal+Gear+Solid+Moments
Do another top ten call of duty moments please.
WatchMojo.com
WatchMojo please do a Top 10 best actors who would fit a villain role. By that i mean do a video on actors who would best fit into the role of a villain like Christoph Waltz becoming a Bond Villain. He fit that role perfectly. At least do a best fitting actor to play as a bond villain.
Thanks for making a great top 10 MGS video (Huge MGS fan). My only nit-pic is that you did not write something with "Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (Remake - 2004)" when you showed alot of footages from the remake (since the remake was for Gamecube and not PlayStation). :-)
WatchMojo.com I love you..
WatchMojo.com I would say one extra bit for Boss vs Naked Snake, at the end, you have to pull the trigger to end the Boss, also who doesn't shed a tear when Big Boss salutes the Boss's grave (both MGS 3 & 4)
"Ocalot"?
Nice spelling there. And I wish you guys would have stuck to the original and showed no Twin Snakes. The original, even in all its dated quality, is the best.
truthunwinding The Twin Snakes somehow has uglier graphics than the original
aram rajabpour I agree. I'll take square faced Snake gladly.
truthunwinding even with the blurry eyes
truthunwinding Yeah I preferred ps1 MGS over the Twin Snakes. The graphics were nice, I just didnt like the feel of the game, the dubstep themes, and the Matrix wannabe cutscenes.
Mistr Dee Oh I know, I hated the direction of it and all the unnecessary slow motion shots and bullet time.
The Patriot A.I. speech at the end of MGS2 is my personal favorite.
I would add the end of Ground Zeroes. Awesome, epic, and a great cliffhanger for what is yet to come: The Phantom Pain! :D
Mgs3 ending got me in tears tho.
La muerte de Big Boss debería estar en un lugar más alto, aún lloro cuando veo de nuevo aquella escena.
Metal gear solid 4 return to Shadow Moses always makes me tear up. Maybe I'm digging too deep into it but I always reflect on my life and what I've been doing from the moment I played the 1st Metal Gear and how my hero has gotten older and so have I.
kaz's speech after skull faces death, was epic, maybe not top ten material, but pretty freaking epic
Why use footage from the inferior TTS?
... I hope we aren't talking graphic wise here... 😂
They used footage from both games.
***** Because graphics don't make a game great. It should be viewed in this capacity as originally intended because that is the true heart of MGS. Not really a fan of how they changed the dialogue for the GC version. The original is still a masterpiece.
***** Lol, sorry, just realized you are a fan of the original just like me. Not used to people nowadays choosing older generation just because it doesn't have a new coat of polish, lol.
John Laite
No worries.
John Laite Thank you someone gets it!
i still drop tears with the MGS3 ending :,(
I think ocelot was misspelled on #3, still I am so happy this list came out!
i only start playing MGS on the 4th series but i can tell how amazing the final fight between Old Snake and Ocelot. It's sad, beautiful, realistic, and so memorable. That and the microwave tunnel is some of the best moment of video game history. Can't wait for The Phantom Pain!
Liquid Ocalot
Holy shit, I just noticed that
OCAAAAALOT!
Also Gurlokovich....
🤣 Shalashashka

The reveal of Liquid Snake as Master Miller in MGS1 was'nt even mentioned??? That was the biggest twist in that game and clearly one of the best moments!
+Ole Petter Sørum a twist that was a incredibly predictable, come on, don't tell me that you didn't realize that his voice was 100% identical to Liquid's.
+arkus As a kid back in '99 I didn't really give it much thought. So it was a big WTF moment for me! Besides, many games use the same voice actor for several characters
+arkus kid me didn't see that twist coming at all
Very true.
One of my favorite moments in the series is when you run into Psycho Mantis again in Metal Gear Solid 4 and he tries to read your mind and move the controller but the lack of memory card and wireless control shut him down forever, the most malicious psychic in video game history brought down with a console update.
I have no shame to say that I actualy cried at the Shadow Moses part. Was really intense.
Best game series out there, just sayin
One of my moments is in MGS2, when the Colonel starts freaking out and saying weird shit like "Turn the game console off right now" and "the famous purple-stuffed worm" and the names of Japanese metro stations.
Then it's revealed that the Colonel was actually a Patriot AI that went crazy because of Emma's worm cluster.
The Colonel then explains how the Shadow Moses incident and the Big Shell incident was all just an experiment to see if they can shape human thought and will through constructed memes and censorship. Justifying censorship on the Internet and mass media with the comparison of human DNA and genes, saying that they want to filter out "junk DNA", which is the trivial and celebrity bullshit commonly spread on the Web. They intend to shape humanity so that they can "evolve".
The final scene from MGS4 Is beyond epic in gaming history. Ties everything together. Leave it up to the cutscene-loving Kojima to give us the ultimate cutscene clocking in at over an hour, but it's all worth it. Being one who began with the NES and didn't play, but "experienced" them all, it was perfect. Perhaps the most perfect wrap up for a franchise we'll never experience again!
This list definitely needs to be updated.
No Raiden vs Vamp and Gekkos? You disappoint me, WatchMojo
With a grand finale as famous as MGS4's, those moments in the final two acts take precedence. Raiden v Vamp was awesome, but it can't compare to Big Boss' reveal, the final fight with Ocelot, the microwave room, and the first part of act 4 in Shadow Moses Island. Especially on an emotional scale.
That fight was better than some of theses though
Olga GorLOCKovic?
Gorlukovic!
I would add the motorcycle chase with EVA in MGS4 and how it references the one in MGS3 to the point that she gets injured the exact same way.
Honestly my favorite scene was that twist ending in MGS 4 when Big Boss shows up at the end.
Where the fuck is "THEY PLAYED US LIKE A DAMN FIDDLE"?
I may not play MGS that much anymore. But it will always be one of my favorite games series of all time.
