Gonna totally do this for my sword and shield block cube since my 1 stage evolution lines are all Vmaxes and the number 1 thing that makes them cool is the art.
Exactly, this makes it realistic to create a cube lol. My collection is a bunch of random cards I love through the generations. Now I can recreate a random set like neo to play the metas I never got to play!
A tip for Americans trying to use Inkscape: instead of using his template which will not be sized properly for 8.5 x 11 computer paper, just create a new file and create a rectangle shape in the middle. Then, while the rectangle is selected, go to the top and change the dimensions to be (189mm) by (264mm) so that the rectange is now the size of a 3 card by 3 card grid. Make sure to center it by setting the X and Y coordinates to 7.7mm and 13.45mm (if it looks wrong then swap those). Then create another rectange and resize to be 88 mm by 63 mm, which is the size of a single card. Turn on the snap tool (should look like a magnet on one of the side bars) and bring the small rectangle to the top left corner. From there all you have to do is create new grids by clicking and dragging from the rulers at the top and side. Duplicate your small rectangle and snap it into place below or to the right, then create another grid, rinse and repeat until you have a 9 square grid including outer edges. From there you can delete the squares if you want to, though it probably isnt necessary, then save your file in an easy to access folder. Sorry if this is not perfectly explained, wrote this at 3 am after 3 hours of trying to figure Inkscape out.
Thanks for sharing this!! I will definitely be doing this with gen 3 poke cards someday
I actually bought some proxy cards from my friend and he told me what to get to create them my self and what he said was nearly identical to what you did
love the idea and thanks for the help
good thing this video exist, i can now make pokemon cards for my brothers that don't involve the actual pokemon on them like other cartoon characters
yknow whats shit about this ITS THAT I DONT HAVE ANY OF THE REQUIREMENTS
1l
Thanks for making this video. Especially for the website
I just want to point out that the file for the template is off on the dimensions, they are bigger than the real cards. So make it the right dimensions you need to pick a pkmn card scan and do not drag the edges but instead write the dimensions you want in the toolbar above the workspace to 63 mm of width and 88 mm of height. Now you move the guides on the template to the edges of the card and snap it. Repeat it 9 times and you have the correct template dimensions
Could you do a video explaining how you set up inkscape for the Pokemon cards. I'm new to inkscape, thank you.
Is there any way to remove the glue film from the lamination?
What size of the layout you use
One simple question, how can i match the same color?
When i print the color is to bright
How do I stop the laminator from peeling off?
Where is the link in the description to make the template
Can you shuffle these?? Doess the lamination come off?
Doesn't the laminating open up when being cut?
What does the card feel it feels like paper so it will get detected
How did you get the template to go on inkscape I cant do ut
my liege is your markup for egypar size cards? can we sleeve them as usual?
Can you use tracing paper
Will those small bubbles go away with time????
when I print, it doesn't print everything how to fic=x this please? thanks
does you laminated cards peel off?
this saved me big time thank you
Excellent video. I was finally able to mess with the printer rendering to make the text very sharp. One question though, Do you think if I laminate the proxies, I'll still be able to sleeve them up to play with them? When I messed with proxies in the past I just used an energy card as a "backing" in the sleeve. Just curious if I should invest in the laminate.
I actually started sleeving them too because it feels better. If you sleeve a paper copy with an energy card, lamination isn’t needed. check out my latest video about card making. ua-cam.com/video/0hJUYbD4p7c/v-deo.html
@@KenVersus I actually ended up investing in the laminate plus I print them out using Epson photo paper. So the photo paper copy plus 3 mil laminate is perfect in a sleeve. Feels just like a real card.
what kind of paper do you use? how many gsm?
how to add photo in incscape
It kind of works! Though I imagine printing on high-quality card stock would yield the best results.
what paper did you use?
Haha, thanks for the tutorial! I want to turn my friends into Pokémon cards!
Thank you for posting
Is it possible to do that
what type of paper did you use to print the images ? 160gsm or higher ?
Where do you buy the card from
can u make template for A3 paper?
These are amazing and make them this way all the time now, especially with Digimin and the set delays. The template is amazing and soo helpful, is there anyway to have all the borders show up? the top left borders dont show. The borders really help when cutting with a paper cutter.
*Top right borders
did your card text go blurry?
where do i get the template ?
I'm gonna buy the essentials for these and show my friends at Secondary School, P.S Pokémon cards are still popular on my Secondary.
They aren't popular at my secondary school :(
Are they ?? They where populair at my school im 1999? Yeah yeah i feel old right now
@@tkgamingnetwork451 there's only a few kids with Pokemon cards
@@tqplayz4561 back in the day everyone (almost) had these cards and lol we would throw charizards and clap them with someone else and now theyre worth bank lol ... if only i knew
Same my School also Uses Pokemon cards
Wow! Imagine you print all of the legendary ones that would be funny and they look like the original one thank you for sharing this! ;)
He has an even better video doing holographics!
what is your paper type ?
Why my printing is Black and white? :(
Just a few questions: In the video, did you laminate only one sheet that was printed on both sides (duplex printing) or did you laminate two sheets into one? And I would also like to ask how many grams is the paper used for printing? Because, as you said, the lamination adds to the thickness, only when I tried the 80gr it was very weak, while the 180 is good but it can't fit into the sleeve very well. That's all I want to ask or if possible give more advice (in private) because I really want to make a few cards. Please reply in advance, thank you very much.
I Duplex printed them on a single sheet. I just use the cheap copy paper. Don’t remember what weight it is. I use thicker laminated sheets that are 5mil so they are stronger.
Thank you 😁 And last questions:
What are the sizes for inkscape? because I only saw a few of the videos. (And I also tried but... unfortunately for me, the front and the back slipped.) And I would like to ask for help in this.
How do you align both sides on an inkjet? It's off by like a half an inch. Need to center it somehow.
Another option is to make the card backs bigger. It really depends on printer to printer when it comes to alignment.
When i print them the printer says wrong size and they come out more to the right than centered so they dont match
do you know the size for a yugioh card ? this video helped a lot and I would also want to print of og yugioh cards but don't know the size
Yugioh is the same size as Pokemon cards
kenVersus yugioh cards are a bit smaller than pokémon/sports cards.
Jose Soless google them bro
Thank you for this video I can now make Pokémon cards
Hi, when i print out the card on an A4 size paper, they are a little bit bigger than normal, about 2cm. Do you know any option that can fix this easily?
If you export it as a PNG, it will be the correct size
subbed! how do you make holographic cards btw? like, only the background of the card holographic
I don’t make cards but if I could guess. I guess they would stick a picture of the Pokémon on a holo background but I don’t know how to make holo paper though
i think you print 2, one thin and one holo. They make the holo card, cut the thin one so its only the background, then stick it on with adhesive maybe. But for the card factories i think they use really opaque ink so the holo wont show
@@HeavyParaBeetle i figured out a method! Card factories use lithography btw
This is very useful; I like proxies when casually playing with friends, but would card stock work better instead of laminated plain paper? 😷
Sure, as long as your printer can print on card stock.
@@KenVersus how much would you charge to make me 2 cards?
How are you doing that
I have a problem when i save the picture the link only saves while i wanted the pokemon card pictures not links i only cliked save as and put to downloads and pictures?
Im on windows 10
Can we get a priz
I tried using your template, it was really close but the pictures where cutting of am I doing something wrong or did the program change?
Same
I have a question here... before laminating, did you print on both sides? like having the front of the card and the back of the card on one paper, i mean...
Yes, I printed the cards backs and then flipped over to print the front. Then laminated them.
@@KenVersus okay :)
Do you have a PDF version of all 1008 Pokemon to download and for us simple persons to print to make for our kids 🤣
I keep running into this problem where I can barely read the text. It's very pixelated/blurry. I've tried sharpening before printing AND increasing resolution on the printer, but no matter what, the text is barely legible. What am I doing wrong?
Hmmm. Are you sure your images are high resolution? Or your printer isn't high dpi enough to print it.
@@KenVersus do I need to adjust settings on the actual printer? I've been adjusting the printer settings from the computer in printer properties.
if i dont have a printer at home, how can i get the finished image on a usb to take it to a place with a laser or color printer to print without needing them to download the program to print the cards?
Save as a pdf on your usb and you can print anywhere
Would you do this service for a fee? I’m looking for 2 cards...
Whatever he would charge you for those 2 cards, you would be better off just buying the 2 cards lol
Does laminating still work if you make the foil cards using your other tutorial videos?
You can still laminate if you want to protect them
What type of paper did you use?
Just regular letter paper, 8.5x11. The laminate will make them thick
How do you make a holographic card?

Hey, I am trying to reproduce this for a school I work at. I'm sure I am missing something simple. When I download your template it loads more as an image rather than the 'template'. I don't get the layers you have and I don't get the grid line set up. I have tried to fix this but alas no luck. Any assistance is hugely appreciated.
Ok so managed to get the template setup.... but when I export to a pdf the borders get enlarged in the template areas...
That's strange, you're using inkscape correct?
Yea I am. I'll do some more tinkering and get back to you
@@KenVersus so.... is there a way to send you a photo of the issue? It seems ,for what ever reason, (perhaps our printer idk) that the images in the defined space enlarge when printing... do you have a twitter or a way to DM you? I would love to get this working for the kids as they are mad about the TCG atm
@@KenVersus I reached out to you on twitter to show the results of a print. I'm using A4 paper and I believe I am using your template correctly **
Would really love to get this cracking and I know I can do it just can't work out the missing step
Hey is the quality better on the paper since your using a laser printer?
I think inkjet would be better for it.
hello. I can't buy Pokemon cards because i am in quarantine. Is there a way to do this with a black and white 15 year old printer
Sure. Itll just be black and white.
I converted the file from Inkscape in .png and printed it in a local library, but the cards are smaller than they should be… should i try to print directly from Inkscape to keep the size without messing everything up? Please help I really want to print the oricas i made 😅
I use Inkscape since it won’t rescale it to fit the page. Try to save as pdf nut print it 100% so it doesn’t shrink
@@KenVersus it worked! Thank you so much! Now i can have fun playing with the customs i made
My cards are coming out super dark when I print them is there any way to fix?
U need a colour printer
@@navneetksandhu912 no shit, that’s what I’m using the colors are just coming out super dark.
I'm using the templet you made and when I print the backs and reuse the sheet the fronts don't line up. what could I be doing wrong? did I mess with the setting somehow?
The settings are know to run problematic on A4 paper, what size are you using?
same. it prints wonky. if you even go into the program he suggests, and change it to 8.5x11 you can see the issue.... way too far to the left
Someone fixed it?
@@stefannnnnnnn7711 need help here as well ///
What paper size did you use?? I want to use A4 sized paper, how can I adjust the template then??
Thank you going to do this to make my friends and family dogs into "BarkMon" Cards
Can you use any printer or it’s this specific printer?
Any printer will work. I just print on plain copy paper.
It is possible to make The base Set and The neo set for me ? I pay The money
U trynna finesse
Im having a serious problem i just bought a giant expensive printer and when i print the backs they come out about an inch off one side and than the front is doing the same thing as well as cutting out the bottom of the card and the right side. can you help me fix or anyone else? Please.
hey did you ever fix this? i just started today and im having the same issue. im thinking the templet is off somehow.
Same
@@stefannnnnnnn7711 same
Could a normal inkjet printer with high quality paper work for this? Thanks for the Tutorial!
Yes itd be fine as well. The laminate will protect it. I run the cards through the laminator 2 times to sure it adheres well.
i did this but when i how to get the template on to inkscpae
Do we need any specific paper for this or will any work?
I just use regular copy paper
@@KenVersus thank you I just ordered everything on Amazon. Do you have an updated template? I tested printing and it seems the bottom 3 always cut off a little for me.
Pokémon gotta catch them all
This is cool, but what about shuffling? It looks like you end up with a big floaty, slippery deck.
its a hard mode exclusive feature when you use proxies
Did I do something wrong? When I printed it, the pictures were slightly off in alignment from front to back.
I am having the same issue. Did you ever figure out a soultion?
@Mr. Collins
@@addiecantwell4330 No sadly :(
@@mr.collins1472 I ended up just doing it in a google doc and was able to line up the cards perfectly. Just make sure you print doubled sided with the "flip on the long edge" selected and it should work as long as your alignment is right!
@@addiecantwell4330 im having the same issue but i dont understand what you did, can you explain a little more?
How many DPI should the Printer have ?
42 069
69 is good, 420 is better
Printing the pokemon cards
Document properties looks promising. It was set in mm instead of 8.5"x11". Going to try moving it over to be centered.
did this fix the off cenering issue?
yes im wondering if it also fixed the off centering
nice video though, i really wished for a way to did this!
How much did it cost you on average to make a deck?
I'd say less than $3 to $5. The laminate sheets and laser toner or ink are your major costs.
Hey man was wondering if you could really tell the difference with real cards. Not that I'm gonna sell them but just to have in the back of my head they seem legit haha
This is how I make high quality proxy cards for the Pokemon TCG.
Ooooo
do you use hard paper or A4 paper
A4 or letter size. The laminate will make it hard
we have the same computer 😱
brother this tutorial works to make yugioh cards??
Yes.
noob question of course it works for all trading cards
@@KenVersus does it work for holos brother?
is it ok even if you use the Brother HLL3210CW printer?🙂
I cant get the template to center, and the bottom gets cut off. What properties do you use for the document?
Where you download the card back? Please I need that image
We can just simply print it in printer
