That split train was the best. Old locomotives, old Leslie air chimes, old mechanical gate bells, old glass insulators. Was like being ten years old and watching trains again.
I can hear that SD40-2 from here, nothing like it, my favorite…! I was going to say Brian, nothing unusual about some clown running under the gates, saw it many of times…! 😂 “Smoke Em” Brian! 5 STARS ✨ PS… RJ Corman = we fix wrecks!
I enjoyed watching this video compilation of trains conquering hills that used gravity to slow down or stall a train. Did you notice that the first Norfolk Southern train that came up The Hill in Crescent Springs, Kentucky was shoved up The Hill by Norfolk Southern train #375, the daily steel coil train from Middletown, Ohio to Rockport, Indiana. I was surprised to see that train helping to shove the first train up The Hill. You could tell that the Cincinnati Eastern train was going to stall going up Williamsburg You also added another video of Norfolk Southern train #375 from a different day to this video. Hill as it started to slow down while passing the crossing. Was the conductor of the Cincinnati Eastern train that stalled on Williamsburg Hill following the train in a company vehicle? If he was not in a company vehicle following the train, he would have gotten a lot of exercise walking back to pull the pin to break apart the train and then having to walk back to the engine.(POsted 10 September 2024 at 2034 CDT.)
Yes, at the time I didn't realise that it was 375. You are correct that the conductor on the CCET train was following in a car. They run their trains with one person in the locomotive and the conductor following in the car to get the switches, derails, gates, couple and uncouple etc. Thanks for watching and commenting Thomas!
Now that was an awesome video JT one hour and 13 minutes long can ask for no better net and those trains going southbound up the hill sure was pulling hard but anyway, my friend as always you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one
That 3656 engine at the beginning of the video are part of the last tier 4 engines that NS bought brand new in 2016. They refurbished a lot of engines that were D9. They upgraded them to I think tier4.
Hey jaw tooth lots of cool trains. We have grades in Clayville and Huberdsville NY on the NYSW RR. Gotta visit Warnervillr NY to see a steep grade on NS RR. Have a great railroad day.🚂🙋♀️
One of very few channels that gets a thumbs up from me before viewing, always quality content for a railfan and he pumps them out with regularity, we’ve seen him freeze his ears off for us👍
Hi JT, I don’t know if you noticed that CCET had an old Soo Line covered hopper in the consist, and that NS train after the Corman clip had an old C&NW covered hopper. That trackage the Corman train was on must really be steep. 3 units and the train wasn’t very long. I wonder why CCET doesn’t assign extra power on those heavy trains, are there no extra units available?
That was two trains combined. The first section is a different train. The first train stalled on the hill and the second train coupled on to it and pushed it up
Wow, that first train was making a very high pitch sound when it was coming up. Especially that mid dpu. That had to hurt the ears. Do you wear earplugs? I'm just curious. Awesome compilation, JT!
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed seeing all the trains going up the steep hills. In case you’re interested on September 28th Fostoria is having a rail festival at the Iron Triangle.
@51:00 .... interesting to see 3 different railroad locomotives on the same train. All that is missing is a CSX engine. This is cool, kinda like how I would mix train sets as a kid. Now it's for real.
No, I haven't seen that happen. I filmed the result of a runaway tank car. A couple times I was filming and chasing trains when they derailed but I didn't get it on video
These engines working so hard made the think of the Little Engines that Could. " I think I Can" As a child loved that book. " Especially living as close to railroad as I did.
The stress on the couplers is beyond physics why DPU's are necessary to relieve the excessive stress on the couplers. The steepest grade in the United States which is now abandoned since 1991 was the Southern/NS 5% grade.
The powerr generated by those locomotives is just amazing. By the way, You"re making me jealous with those shirts Where do you shop for them? All The Best. E
Hope those tanker cars hauling K-1 Kerosene. Big shortage of kerosene, price at the pump in my area $6.89 a gal. Mega box stores seen at $10 per gal in five gallon cans - ouch.
@the-terrible63 I'm doing it. Again, today, I will make phone calls to mom-n-pop fuel oil companies, seeing if I can get a 110 gal bulk kerosene delivery at lower cost. Months back, not a drop of K-1 available via known kero distributors. Have two 55 gal plastic drums, and a few 28k btu heaters for 'uncertainty', aka, SHTF [shan hits the fan]. Prepare, uncertainty is looming, must acquire essential necessities now, hunker down time is imminent. Yelping: Best Wishes to all.
It's Tuesday morning with the great train action on the tracks as well as the magnificent amazing live action pets dogs and cats and the awesome music slide show Thanks Jaw Tooth. 🚂🚃🚃🇺🇲
Kind of harsh calling that one car dumb. He pulled up same time the signals came on. At least he respected them and didn't try to cross. If anything erred on the side of safety.
Hi thank you for playing the train 🚆 can you please do more new train 🚆 show for all of us please we will be waiting for you ok I really love to watch train 🚆 alot ok I will always praying for you and your family and friends and all of your animals ok please 🙏 be careful out there ok 🙏 and please 🙏 be 🙏 safe so you get home 🏡 to your family and friends and your animals ok I really love all of your animals ok I really love the Black cat 🐈⬛️ I really love cats 🐈 😻 🐈⬛️ alot I really do like dogs 🐕 to ok you have a wonderful day and have a good night and day ok do really love when you say wait there more train 🚆 ya I really like you saying that ok love Lorilee xoxoxoxox 🙏 😊 😀 ❤️ ☺️ 💙 🙏
I am sparing a thought for the poor drivers in cars and trucks who get held up at a "crossing" while the train waits for more locomotives to help it move along! I trust this is a rare occurrence? I can imagine a husband trying to get his pregnant wife to the hospital because the infant is coming out NOW! Definitely a good time to panic!
Wow, 4 train Dpu super long Norfolk southern and a train meet. Now that's a cool catch
Thanks for watching!
Absolutely fantastic video you could top this one but why Awesome from beginning to end !!!!

Thanks for watching!
Excellent catch, Brian, thank you very much and have a nice day and night.
Nice to see an old C&NW hopper on the front of the N&S train
You know, i probably would stall too hauling those heavy loads up those hills too, Brian. Those DPUs are always working hard.
Thanks Jaw Tooth for great Video, Have an awesome weekend.
Hey JawTooth

The CE coming up the grade before the stall out they sure were making some pretty music! Sounded awesome!
Great Work !

When they doubled that hill, was the GP15 not working? Didn't sound like it was doing anything
Jaw Tooth have you ever caught a derailment on camera before if when and would you have it on your channel ?
Was that first train 2 hooked together helping each other. I'm wondering if the 2 locomotives with the steel coils broke off somewhere down the line?
