Happy Thanksgiving Dan to you and your family!! Just starting prep work on Thanksgiving dinner, with a glass of Julia Childs most important ingredient 🙋♀️😉this is the perfect backdrop! It will be a new family Thanksgiving tradition, Planes, Trains & Automobiles along with Railfan Dan & Dad with The Big Boy 🦃😊
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well! Wow thank you so much as well you are so generous! Very thankful for that! Glad you could give it a look on the day of. I didn't know if it would be a good idea to upload on Thanksgiving day but seems like some were able to put it on with their families.
We watched this with our guests tonight, through hors d'oeuvres and Thanksgiving dinner while visiting. It was the best thing to have on the TV and still have conversation. Thank you, Railfan Dan!
Thank you for posting this video! I jumped to day 6 so that I could relive the moments where the locomotive had come through Granger and Jamrstown Wyoming, where I had the chance to see this magnificent living piece of history. I had seen your drone flying around, and your vehicle parked near the hwy overpass. I was up on tip of the overpass when the Big Boy had approached and stopped for other trains to pass at Granger. At the 3:15:28 mark, i was the one dressed in black kneeling at the guardrail catchinga video of the No. 4014 as it had passed under. I'll replay this video in its entirety when I have some downtime over the weekend.
Oh that's very cool Robert I'm glad I caught you in frame! Glad you could easily jump to that day in the video to see what you wanted. I hoped sectioning this video out by each day would be useful to folks so I'm glad to hear this. I'm glad you enjoyed my friend!
I'm so glad to hear you say that! It's always #1 about the train in the frame but then depending on the scenery where the train may be in the frame. Making sure to show mountains, rivers, and more to the fullest extent. I also always try to keep at least a sliver of the sky in the frame as much as possible in the wide angle shots.
Lol that's me and my friends at 2:17:16 . I chased Big Boy for a few days but Cutler was the top of my priority list for months, went with some experienced railfans who knew the area. I was tempted to use my DJI but opted to go for my mirrorless and on ground footage. Glad you got the air footage I was curious about.
That's so cool I'm glad you found this video then! I took at look at yours from that spot and very glad you uploaded it. As I was looking at you and the others in real time there I knew it must have been a killer location to shoot from so it's great to see it! Thanks so much for the donation I really appreciate it! Very generous of you. 😊
Thank you, Dan, for this fantastic video featuring Union Pacific's Big Boy #4014 on its Westbound Tour to California and covering parts of its return to Cheyenne, Wyoming through parts of Utah, Idaho and terminating in Green River, Wyoming. You took us through parts of the United States that most of us will never see in person. The Big Boy was majestic as it rolled through parts of the Great Basin, river canyons and mountainous areas. I enjoyed watching almost three and a half hours of Big Boy #4014. I appreciate the time that you and your dad spent driving and chasing Big Boy and the time that you spent producing this final video. (Posted on 28 November 2024 at 2142 CST,)
That sir, was absolutely a spectacular train 🚂🚂🚂🚂 video 📹, wow what a journey, the train was awesome, and the scenery nothing short of spectacular, brilliant video 📹 👏 👍👌
A well done job on your train video from the music to the scenery. Keep up the great work Dan. 😮 I'll be watching more of your interesting train videos in the future. 😮 3:18 pm

One of my favorite things about your videos is how well you maneuver the drone to catch all the scenery. 🎉

@@TheRailfanDan beyond cool!!! I was serious when I said this is going to be a new family tradition during the holidays ❤️
Maybe it was the big buck that ran out @2:33:47 near the water that made them slow down ! Epic Movie Dan and DAD !
Good eye! I had to go back and look, nice buck!!
Ha yeah I saw that too! Maybe so! Thanks a lot Becky.
Watching now Dan! Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at SSRP! (Dave).

Thank you Patrick I'm so glad to hear it and definitely hope you will enjoy more videos down the road.
I used to take the annual trip from Denver to Cheyenne for the "daddy of them all!"
Now this is an awesome video!!!!!
Thank you!
Happy Thanksgiving, curious as to why tail of train is missing leaving Ragland nv. Then reapears?
Hmm not quite sure what you're seeing? The train stayed the same through this whole video aside from the diesel change at Portola.
😅
