I remember people constantly saying Dubas caved and overpaid him and how average he would always be. They said I was delusional, saying he was a steal and he would never be the player I said he was. Nobody backed my opinions and here we are and he's exactly what I said he would be. That's not to say i knew anything special. Everyone should have seen it. It was always there if you add the context of the situation he was operating under. I believed in Willy then and I believe in him now. This is always what he was. People just didn't see it and needed someone to blame.
Same with Holl. He's a fantastic Defence first player and the hate he gets is because people don't understand defence and what makes him good. It's not about the points. It's the way he sees the game.
Buddy I bet a friend that nylander would amount to more than mitch the bitch and look at how it's playing out.
@@Ludwigvonweinershnitzle Mitch has more talent than Willy but Willy’s playing with more heart. Nylanders feisty. You’d think Mitch would have the most heart playing for his hometown team he grew up cheering for... it’s frustrating to watch

People rag on Nylander but he is the only one telling it straight, wake up, and no more feeling sorry for yourselves it doesn't do any good. Nice OT goal too

ya true but what the important thing is momentum the narrative is the top 4 are not performing right, well they all got a point they need some confidence and we finally saw it tonight we were not just a perimeter team we shot a lot more pucks i mean look at our second goal but i do agree i think the team was not good enough defensively and Campbell's a beauty

This Leafs win was far from impressive, and hardly anything to celebrate too hard. Hawks hit a bunch of posts and had a couple of odd man rushes and drove the net. This Hawks team is atrocious but still Toronto just barely managed to squeeze out an OT victory, a lot due to Campbell being lights out. Looking sloppy as hell, this Maple Leafs team. Puck is consistently handled as a grenade. Justin Holl looked like he was skating in quicksand out there with a giant parachute holding him back. Muzzin looked like his legs are shot, too. People are saying the league is so fast today, but man did he look sluggish out there, Justin Holl. You gotta love Nylander skating stride though on the GW goal, he's just gliding through like a space pod.

I am happy with how he is developing. I was on the fence about him a few times in the past, but…I love how he recognizes his shortcomings and takes ownership and knows he has to do better. Way to go, Wil.

Hardly a win worth celebrating. Matthews chirping the fan at the end really summed up the entire effort. Torontos D is not transitioning the puck well at all. Three up in the neutral zone is shutting these guys down on the breakout. The big four also seem to be taking low chance shots that end up in the goalies chest more often than not. They are lucky they won this one.

I dont think I saw ONE good play by the defense this game except for the Sandin assist.... they lose the puck and make really bad plays all throughout the game.
