28th November: New York City, Madison Square Garden (1st show). The whole show was filmed by the Maysles brothers for the upcoming Gimme Shelter-movie. Little Queenie was used as a promofilm in 1970.
THIS was the video that got me switched on to rock'n roll when I was 12 back at my nanna's place, black and white TV and all.Who cares which"night"it was at Madison Square? Pure rock achieved.I've been looking for this vid for 43 years.THANK YOU GOD. And,yes; Get Yer Ya Yas Out was the first album I bought.
DAMN THA IS SOOOOOOO F GOOOD GETS THE CROWDS GOING EVERYTIME THANK YOU CHUCK BERRY FOR THIS GEM /? YEA I KNOW THE STONES ARE DOING IT JUSTICE / MICK TAYLOR WHAT ELSE HOT HOT HOT .
Too bad all of the other footage shot at MSG back in November 1969 will never be assembled as a Film version of Ya Ya's. I for one would love to see the footage of Midnight Rambler. What a Tour de Force it was back at the time ! Our loss not to see it ! : (
Some of that footage is on the Gimme Shelter DVD , such as carol , little queenie jumpin jack flash , satisfaction and love in vain , a treasure indeed , MSG 1969 .
Vickie S Thanks ! ))) In recent years I have come across various outtakes from Mayles brother's Gimme Shelter film - Carol, Little Queenie, backstage footage of Jagger playing guitar for Ike and Tina, Keith fuming that Hendrix is hitting on his girlfriend etc. Just not ALL of the other songs that are on Ya-Ya's and not in the movie. It is possible that a Concert Film of the 69 American Tour was the original idea - but the Altamont gig became the inevitable Greek Tragedy that we have come to know over the years. ( So what vault is the other footage IN anyway ? )
Great. Stones in top of world !

Alan Bravender Your right , that's a good question , never thought about it before .
+Alan Bravender Would love to see the 1969 MSG version of the Prodigal Son , its the best version indeed , cant find it .
If Mick Jagger ain't the greatest frontman of all time, he's in the top three.
He's #1
@@kenbranaugh8251 Can't argue with that, but JIm Morrison, Freddie Mercury and Jimi Hendriz all died young.
Aren't we all forgetting Stu's melifluous piano-playing? Behind the curtain as ever...
The Rolling Stones - Little Queenie Live 1969
