They did, & still do, what they’re told to do. Everything in the music business is orchestrated (by business geniuses). Most of today’s heavy metal & rap music is packaged & sold to make kids feel tough just like “alternative music” exploits teenage angst. None of it is by chance or accident and it’s designed by old white men. Thats why you never hear any musician 💩 on record executives despite them keeping a huge chunk of their earnings. As powerful as guys like JayZ & Diddy are they’re still at least 2 rungs from the top.

The Taylor Rules: 1. Always in tune and time; 2. Never overplays; 3. Has truly epic speed chops--his technique is so pure that one doesn't realize how fast he can play. Neither Page nor Clapton can match his flawlessness at pace. Beck is close, but Taylor's superior gift is that he can raise a song to brilliance as the player. Some illustrations on this version of TD--the solo is short and simple. No need to gild the lily on one of the great tunes in the rock cannon. And listen to what he does on rhythm between about 2:57 and 3:18. Brilliant. And, by the way, this is live.

Rock solid. Bass, drums and the two leads...Mick Taylor...his joining the band lifted it to another level simply because he was a foil to Richards genius down sound. As one critic said, "When mike Taylor was added the windscreen became clearer."

I'm 58 yrs old. Still love the Stones after all these years. Just nothing like them. They have such a great style and delivery. I was lucky enough to have met Mick Taylor in a bar in Minneapolis about 23 years ago. He was really down to earth and conversational. Saw the Stones a few times and they always put on a great show.

Chuckie is one of a very rare breed of drummers that hears everything as he's laying down tempo. He just gradually rides this tempo up in this, exactly as was intended. Just excellent...played with a guy like this once. He could make anything you play sound like the best song ever. We both gave up pro music eventually but he never should have.
