The dog afraid of the pool is one of my favorite episodes. I got so teary the moment the dog felt brave enough to swim. It felt like he's mine.

There’s nothing in the world that can come near to the feeling of a dog trusting you. Nothing.

My dog is so shy. She only likes dogs that ignore her! She plays favorites. I have tried to go first so she can see it is ok! Helps...but not much

Hello cesar big fan, I don't think you read this but how do I boost my dog's self esteem around other dogs. When he meets another dog his tail goes between his legs and his rear goes down like very afraid.greeting from holland

Jozua Smit Did you socialise you’re dog from when he was a puppy? Because if he didn’t have experience around other dogs and humans that’s why he/she is scared.

My 10 month old puppy suddenly became fearful about 4 days ago. It’s really bad, he’s 80 lbs, when he sees a lamp or stranger he tries to run away in the opposite direction or sit as far as he can when I’m pulling him. He doesn’t want to move when walking and I don’t know why he’s suddenly so scared.

My dog is afraid of another dog and when it's afraid he pee. When it was 3 months year old he got attacked by another dog. Now it's afraid of other dogs, is there a solution?🙏

The pool was just an example of a challenge. Every dog is different and has different challenges.

This is extremely important in protection training a dog. The dog must always win to build his confidence, bringing him out little by little. I recall a dog, a German Shepherd I had & when going to the store I tied him to the bus stop while I went in to buy something. Anyway, unbenownst to me, he refused to allow anyone to enter the store I was in or even pass by on the sidewalk, or even get on or off the bus. When I came out of the store a guy from a restaurant told me the whole story, saying, "That's a really good dog you've got there lady. Is he for sale?" I had heard him barking inside the store but had no idea what was going on. Any way I had him protection trained to channel his aggression in the right pathway so that he only protected on command. Then a very popular dog trainer, a young punk, heard about him & asked me to bring him to his kennel. When I got there I was instructed to tie him short to a tie board & walk away. This professional trainer kept on advancing toward the dog shooting a starting pistol in the air & cracking a bull whip. Sad to say my dog began to back down & this trainer then said, "See, your dog isn't so good after all; he doesn't stand his ground and I broke his spirit". "Now let me sell you one of my trained dogs for only $2000." (Here he ruined my dog to sell me one of his). I spoke to a different trainer who told me to allow the dog his freedom for 1 year & then bring him in to his Training Academy. Slowly but surely this older guy brought him back, little by little. Turns out when I finally put him up for sale an employee from that first bad guy's kennel bought him & used him on their brochure as one of their own security dogs. So the joke was on them in the end. That same young punk also backed down my trained Doberman, however she didn't need any training to bring her back.
