    Thanks for your suggestions! I got the Brompton tool kit shortly after my Brompton purchase. I ordered a handlebar mirror and hope it will fit. My bike stand is coming soon and I will order a rear triangle protector. I have a Velcro strap that I can use; although your leather one looks awesome. The boo boo kit is a good idea and I’m thinking of getting the easy wheel and extender. I don’t have a rear rack. I want an open basket to put my groceries in but that will after wait until I upgrade my wheels.

    • @Sarge92
      @Sarge92 Рік тому

      why not go one better and opt for a wired battery system 1 battery that handles both front and rear that you can detatch and charge elsewhere or charge it whilst connected to the bike so your not having to take the USB lights on and off the bike for bonus points you could opt for a system that charges the battery via dynamo so you always have power for your lights at night

    Hi Peter, great to see you putting out videos from down under. Frank "help-my-lockring-is-stuck" here.
    Bromptons are generally well made and thus upgrades aren't necessary "essential"; so says the bloke that spent more on upgrades than on my Bromptons themselves.
    Anyway, here are 3 items (in no particular order), I would advise a new Brompton owner to look into for upgrades:
    1. Hinge Clamps - agree that after-market ones work better
    2. Easy Wheels (especially for non-rack models) - the stock wheels are just awful for rolling, and larger wheels also provide better clearance when wheeled around
    3. Toss up between Handle-grips, Saddle or Tires - each can significantly change the comfort/feel of the ride

      I use a RearViz mirror when riding. It's a wearable mirror that you place on your forearm and adjust to the position you want based on your riding position. This is useful to me because then I don't have to add additional peripherals to the bicycle to clunk it up.

    Just bought a Brompton yesterday (will be delivered in about a month). The first video in your vlog series really captures the mood of the present moment for so many of us. I rode my fixed gear bike for a couple of hours yesterday to get out on the road again and felt the sense of release in that first video of yours.
    I've been binge watching the whole series today after discovering your channel through this video. Awesome channel! I'm learning a lot and am subbed.
    Looking forward to getting my Brompton and exploring upgrades to it over time (I know I will want to do them as I've done that with all my bikes).

    I added to my Brommie a telescopic expander for wheels near the seatpost. When Brommie is folded it is somewhat unstable. The folding system is build in a way that when folding it takes weight to the right side of the bike. So I extend the pair of wheels when Brommie is folded. I think this expander should come with Brompton factory delivery.

    • @Petrellionwheels
      @Petrellionwheels  4 роки тому +1

      The extender is one of the great example of after market parts. Too bad they will never work on my Brompton. The extender added an extra bit of width to the eazy wheel's base, which causes me having a heel strike onto the eazy wheels all the time. I guess I will never get the benefits of that. Anyway, thanks for spending time with my video.

Also, I'm very sorry to see that happen to your travoy, I'm curious if the new one that was released has fixed that. I have a Burley Nomad, but it seems to drag too much in the front of allowing it hit the ground when going up or down a curb ramp connecting the street with the sidewalk.
    Are you considering a different trailer now?

      Darren, you are the best. The intention of the videos being made were to help people getting the right stuff and putting them to the right use. You are giving a lot of energy to going forward with it. Thanks. I will always prefer the titanium seatpost or handler bar over the aluminium version of them any time. The titanium one are just more comfortable. The green bike that you are seeing is using my own house design and made titanium seatpost, it doesn't required any penta clip. For the other bike that I am not using that seatpost, I am just using the original penta clip, it works for me just fine.

    • @Petrellionwheels
      @Petrellionwheels  4 роки тому +3

      Sorry about the late reply. I am assuming you are either running on a e type Brompton with no fenders. If it is the case, you will need to "tilt up" the Brompton and push it from there. Larger wheels will help, but too large your Brompton will fall to the right hand side when it is folded, Try to look for some wheels which are 66mm or less in diameter.

      Hector, their are generally 3 types are suspension out there for the Brompton. I am making a video on the suspension block, i think it will be ready in about 2 to 3 days time. I will go through with them for you and there will be a brief installation guide there as well.

      The one that you are seeing in the video were my own design, there are various people who are making them. If you like the one that I had, I can put it upto my store later on, and you can take a look at it. Cheers.

    The clamps are definitely an annoying issue, but I’m not gonna replace them, the bike was plenty expensive as is. Should’ve been improved on the standard model years ago, but I suppose people buy m anyways so no changes keeps the price lower, sales up and the profit higher. That’s my guess. Great folder for commutes tho.

      EZ clamp springs are a nifty little upgrade. Little 3d printed things that you add to the stock clamps which stops the clamp from spinning and also pushes the clamp away from the frame as you loosen. I recommend! You can buy them or print them yourself

    Hi Peter, just changed to a L type mudguard. What would be better for rolling and stability, the extender wheel, larger wheels (80mm?), or both?

    • @Petrellionwheels
      @Petrellionwheels  4 роки тому +1

      If you are on the L type, try to avoid the larger wheels, unless you are using the wheel's extender. I am not a big fan of wheel's extender as it would generally widen the the total width of the easy wheels, and I will always have heel strikes with them. So, better know if it will happen to you before you spend your money.

    What size(diameter) is your easy wheel? Thanks. I looking for one that is high enough so the suspension block wouldn't hit the floor when we tilt it and push around.
