Nice, simple build. I like the design and ability to fold. Sometimes you need a light duty set and don't need them built to hold a thousand pounds. I've got to say at the beginning of the video... please don't cut long stock with a miter gauge up against the fence like that. It is very dangerous and easy to twist, causing a kickback... especially with you standing directly behind the piece being cut. You moved the fence over at 1:36, which was good. Use a starter spacer.
This is the simplest folding Sawhorse design that I have found on UA-cam. The strength of the hinges seems to be extremely important. I will be making a set of these but will probably cut dados to mount the two leg crossbar supports so they will have some extra lateral stability. And, I may find a more secure way to crimp the cable ferrules, as well. I do love the idea of using cables to prevent splaying of the legs. But irregardless of that, this is a great design. Thanks for sharing.
This is an excellent design and execution 👍 After reviewing a dozen other designs, I think this will be the model that I will use. I also admire and envy your shop. It is perfection!! BRAVO from Spokane Washington USA 👍👍👍
The 1x2 brace just under the top of the uppermost cross piece, will pinch the daylights out of your fingers, when the hinged parts move. Been there, done that.!!!
An excellent idea but I have a few comments. First, I would never cut the leg length if using a table saw with out a stop block clamped to the fence to reduce the chance of the work piece binding at the blade. Third, I would use a push handle to brush the cutoff piece away from the blade, may save a finger .Fourth , I would use a mitre saw for most if not all of the angle cuts or a sled if using the table saw. I would use a T-strap hinge to reduce the stress at the pivoting joint when opening the sawhorse. I like the use of swageing on the wire ends. Good luck and thanks for the idea.
Jeez, I would love to use all that equipment also, but all I have is a hand held circular saw, wish me luck!!! (though, I can assure you I won't be ripping any board--haha). Second, I don't have the equipment in the video, but I've watched enough video's to know his safety procedures are on the lax side as you mentioned....when he grabbed that scrap (aka cutoff piece), I gasped!!!
No worries, i watched all your videos.. i love your work... it would be a great idea to post graphic schematics of your projects as well... for diy purposes.
Once I tried doing what he does which is grabbing the small cut piece, the blad took it and grabbed my index finger with it. Luckily it just took my nail
yeah no need for a fence there. just use the miter gauge. i had to do a double take as i did not notice him using a fence at first. i don't usually watch whole videos such as this. i fast forward to select parts to get the gist of it.
Not bad, but two things: This design needs something to keep the legs apart when in use. Last thing you want is a shift in load which could cause the sawhorse to fold on you. The surface area of the top is a bit small. I prefer a beefier build, like ua-cam.com/video/_6t4pel-hKw/v-deo.html
Except when using self piloting/tapping screws. Not sure what was used in video. But you leave good advice, just not sure if it is relevant to video...
Sorry sir, a really good example of not to work at a table saw. Never ever take away so tiny pieces without a push stick. Keep away hand an fingers from a running saw blade.
I never saw a woodworker working so clean.
The secret is Soap & Water ?! Lol !

Excellent Work Horses definitely will save space in new work shed I'm building. thanks
That’s the best video I’ve seen of the folding saw horse. The small peice of timber at the top on one side. Wonder why ??
This was a great video. Saw horses are very over priced in the store. I will definitely be trying this. Thank you.
Love 💕 it from Australia 🇦🇺 🌹👏👏👏

I wondered why it was even there.
Very nice and light weight, however, the hinges need countersinking as the screws stick up to far and bind when these fold up.
Thanks for your teaching sir.
Nice.
Could you describe those tools and accessories?
Design is good, but the screw heads bind and strain the hinge when closed.
Thanks for watching sir.

Very nice design.

Hello J-woodworking... is it possible to post exact measurements or a schematic for this sawhorse ? I really intend to do this myself
cross bar .. 1000(1ea), 900mm(3ea)
column bar .. 850mm(4ea)
Sorry.
I'm not good at English.
No worries, i watched all your videos.. i love your work... it would be a great idea to post graphic schematics of your projects as well... for diy purposes.
Can you give me the measurements and a list of things I need to buy please?
100w x 85h cm.
Hinges, wire.
Sorry I don't have plans.
Thanks for watching sir.

What are the dimensions? Glen Orie from Trinidad and Tobago.

Can anyone provide the size of wood in inches (i.e 2x6" for the legs)? thank you in advance.
I used 2x4".
Thanks for watching sir.
How about a plan please
the stocks are too large to cut with a fence that's a dangerous practice. the design is nice though
yeah no need for a fence there. just use the miter gauge.

Why don’t you use a riving knife?
what no miter saw????
Why on earth is he reaching over the blade. All of these cuts should have been made with a miter saw.
Sling clapm?

Placing screws near the edge of the 2" x 4" without pre-drilling is a bad idea.
