Scotty could you please find out why my 2016 toyota Camry has a rough cold start? We already tried changing spark plugs and cleaning the throttle. Please help!
@@Painintheknee Check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail after it's been sitting overnight. The fuel pressure regulator usually has a check valve in it to keep fuel pressure from bleeding back through the system when it's been sitting. I would try cycling the key on and off several times before you try to crank the motor. If that helps, then it's definitely fuel delivery.

What passes for a 'pickup truck" today is ridiculous. A luxury passenger car cab with a useless 4' box. Thus $80,000. What I want has not been available for 30 years. Ford F150 4x4.. EIGHT FOOT BOX , manual transmission, manual locking hubs, NO cameras, sensors, or other useless and instantly outdated electronics. VINYL floor mats (no carpet, this is a work truck and I need to hose it out). And I'd be very happy with a 300 inline 6, the greatest motor Ford Motor Co. ever produced. I don't even need power windows or mirrors. All that crap has made vehicles unreliable and instantly obsolete. The crap doesn't make it for the life of the vehicle and is almost impossible to repair when it stops working.
Exactly
Those 300s can't be beat
You should be the next POTUS! I agree with you, except for that manually locking hubs. I live in lion country; stay in the truck!
This is why I only own 1999 or older.
Agree w all that, except I'd prefer an automatic. I wouldn't buy any more mid size or larger cars or trucks w/o PS & PB. But I'd love to get crank windows and a small V-8 like the 4.6 liter (281 CID found in Panther platform cars) that always last over 250K miles w routine care.
I'm a UAW Ford worker. I can confirm they are parking thousands of these everywhere. They are missing parts. They continue to run production knowing the vehicles can't be sold.
Best part is. There are thousands of trucks out there missing parts and have hail damage from the hailstorm we had a week ago. Lol.
They've even been storing these things out in the farmlands, at offroading resorts, Firework tent locations, Caves. Every nook they can find. You'll see a f150 missing parts.
If only they would just do everything in-house like they did decades ago, supply chain issues wouldn't be as much of an issue.
How do they keep track of which units need what parts? I’m genuinely confused at how anybody can keep track of that.
Ford has more money than brains
Honestly I think that they're just storing them up like a squirrel so they'll still have something to ship to dealerships once the mass layoffs begin...
@@samuel1996BKK Ah, I forget technology exists.
Ford can't even assemble a good vehicle. They definitely can't make electronics. 😅
Someone needs to start a company selling stupid cars. No computers and no batteries.
How will they smog it since it does not have a computer?
Bring back the K car. I'd buy one.
No batteries? Hand crank start, magneto ignition and kerosene lights? Been a while since somebody has made one of those. but they can be found used.

I was telling my husband that people just want a basic truck. No frills bell or whistles with a truck bed 8' or longer. When you have a truck, you want a truck to use, not just drive. It's become ridiculous out there.
The trucks they build today are for men who are all hat and no cattle.
My base model manual Toyota will be twenty years old in a few months. It better last forever because I don't want to deal
with a million sensors and other features I don't need.
8' or LONGER?
@@stargazer7644i say we sell em so basic, single cab, short medium and long bed. How it should be
@stargazer7644 yes..ford used to make extended beds.
I bought a 2010 F150 brand new. Yesterday I found out the ABS module on my truck was toast and I need a new one installed. Problem is, Ford doesn't make the replacement part for this ABS module anymore. They said my 14 year old vehicle is obsolete. Thanks Ford. Never again will you get my business.
Go to autozone first. You should also find out if there is a Universal one. Or an aftermarket, or someone who wrecked the same vehicle somewhere.
pretty sure you can find a remanufactured one
yeah I had a control on my dash go out on my 2013 F150 and few years ago, the truck was 9 years old at the time. It was discontinued by ford. I found a ford in another state that had it still so I pay 3x what it cost originally but had to have it. That was my last ford and from the looks of things it maybe be my last new vehicle ever.
Screw ford, you can still get one. Google is this place where you can find that type of stuff by just typing it in 😂
They made millions of those trucks. You can find a used one easily. How many decades should they keep making new parts?
They said Ford is losing a staggering $36,000 on every EV it sells.
SO the American Tax payer will be Eating that Failure
The taxpayer eats everything that the government does. Hence the tax debt of about 200k for every taxpayer....and climbing.
They are losing money on EVs because that's what happens when you bring out new tech. But it is a lot less than the number your throwing out there.
With me, they will lose the entire cost of making EXPERIMENTAL VEHICLES. I'll take another serious look one day, way down the road when they: Cost less than equal ICE models. Fully charge in under 10 min and NOT at home where I cannot do that! And when EV's are not only embarrassing cartoon looking toy cars, 4dr PU, vans, or SUV's. I'll ONLY look at a mid size coupe, full size sedan, or 2 dr PU.
As Ford should.
Tell this to the 5 dealerships I visited today, Wednesday, March 2024. They would not negotiate with me AT ALL. Their attitude was pretty much, "The price is the price. If you don't like the price then you can take a hike." Seriously. One of the vehicles I was trying to negotiate on has been on their lot since September of last year.
They need us…not the other way around. I’ll gladly take a hike ✌️😆
@@badhombre8383Normally I would do that but my current car took a s*&t and I need a new one now. Sucks.

80k for a vehicle is not outrageous when you consider you the end user in modern finance is never supposed to own it outright. It's the same with 1200usd or more phones, computers at 2 grand. Nobody can afford this crap because it's supposed to be financed until the next model you trade up for and never own.
You will own nothing and be happy.
With the delay myself and other friends have had having fords serviced (several months for transmissions at the dealerships) they should be keeping these vehicles in a scrap yard just so that they have spare parts on hand instead of this "Backordered with no ETA" nonsense.
Slavery never went away, it was replaced by debt.
I don't know where to start. My phone is $250 Motorola, computers were always 2k -- you just got more for your 2k with each year. 80k for a rolling pile of junk, with an added bonus of paying interest? Thank you very much, but hard no. To each his own
I *_will_* own quality used stuff, and I *_will_* be happy.
Well, to be honest I'm already happy NOT owning any of that insanely overpriced electronic trash lol! My base model Samsung Android cell has more apps and features than I need and costed just under 250. tax included. My desktop PC was a mid range HP model for under 1K (I didn't need new speakers or keyboard) and I have yet to replace any at less than 7-8 yrs old. I have zero interest in wasting my money on an EV (experimental vehicle) and same applies to huge ICE 4dr PU's and the boring cookie cutter SUV's. My paid for used ICE car runs perfect. 🤑😂
I live by Kentucky Speedway and they have filled it up with Fords for the 3rd year in a row. Very little security, people sneaking in to steal wheels and cut off cats. It's ridiculous.
Even more ridiculous? They don't care!
Might as well steal the whole veachle and do a fix it yourself type thing

The price of new vehicles is insane.
I think scotty did a video on the very last new vehicle costing under 20k and it was some korean garbagemobile. Pickups are the most out of control though and EVs just dont make sense.
Meh. You can get a 2023/24 Nissan Versa for under 20k
Edit: Googled it and it's between $15-18k for a brand new one. A lot of them are manuals though, just the new generation and most people who can't afford vehicles anyway I doubt they can drive stick
@@user-oh3lx9xf9pIf they still made the Versa Note hatchback I'd consider another when mine dies.
@@user-oh3lx9xf9p nobody wants a Nissan. I didn't think they even sold cars here anymore.
@@phillmckrakin2518 I know plenty of people who do. Two best vehicles I have ever owned was a Toyota Corolla (currently 307,xxx miles) and a Nissan Altima (290k miles when i gave it to my sibling). Both have had minimal issues.
Did that down here at the Ky speedway. Thousands, mice ate the electronics up and from what I heard they had to trash them.
If there are more vehicles than people to buy them they have to reduce the price to sell them,. if they hold back the inventory they can write it off on their taxes as a loss, and they will claim that loss at the high 81, 000 sticker price, so basically here's how it goes. Ford make say 100,000 trucks that should be valued at 30 grand. They then hold onto half of them, that leaves only 50K of them to buy. They jack the price to three times the normal value and then make a tidy profit. the rest of the cars they don't sell get written off for the full market value and they crush these. it's all a scam and our politicians are bought and paid for. It's time we really vote everyone out.
Are you being for real? They really crush them? Not trying to start an argument, but what proof do you have? I’m really curious about this.
Yea right! It's time we count the vote like the lieing democraps
@Blackhawk556. it makes sense they would rather destroy inventory than let it go in a fire sale. If people realized they can wait out the manufacturer and buy at a much lower cost no one would buy for full price.
They don't crush new unsold vehicles! Who told you that nonsense? They do get sold one way or another. The manufacturers usually make those available to the dealerships to be sold at deep discounts at low or zero interest, as lower cost lease vehicles and loaner vehicles that'll be sold later as used.
Then what? We elect them then have to eject them over and over and over...
Just buy used and take care of it yourself
Gm does this as well, I used to go to the GM plant in Oshawa. They park thousands of cars, trucks SUVs etc ready to get on the train and ship out. However I worked for a company that gm outsourced quality control and I can tell you that those vehicles sat there for a long time. We would have to go to every single vehicle and scan them so they are in the system and check for whatever issue they were having. Sometimes it was minor stuff like measuring gaps between body panels with a certain gauge made by GM and had to be within in spec to pass. If not then they sat there until they were fixed and only then they were signed out to be shipped out via train or transport truck.
If Ford would build and sell new 2002 F-150s (except for the crappy spark plugs) I bet they would sell millions of them. No useless tech but still fairly advanced.
Those were so ugly tho

Oh wow. They just closed up the FORD dealership around the corner from my job last week. It’s been there for decades now. !!
Priceless insight Scotty. 👍🏻✌🏻
The reason is there was a problem during assembly a lot of them either need to have the rear end replaced or need an inspection done because during production, somebody forgot to lubricate apart inside the rear end. As Ford salesman, I can assure you we don’t have enough F1 50s and super duty to sell.
Now the lightning and machE… we’re about to start slipping those into women’s purses when they leave the dealership just to get rid of them. We can’t give the damn things away.

"Prince of Darkness" story. My 1965 Triumph motorcycle had Lucas electronics and the rear tail light failed. The bulb was fine; it was a wiring failure. But I did love that Bonneville.
When I was younger I had a neighbor Mr. West who loved rebuilding Triumph motorcycles. Mr. West worked for a systems and controls company for manufacturing plants so he had tons of electrical experience. Every motorcycle he ever rebuilt he yanked out the entire wiring harness and started from scratch. Literally everything new possible. He had an old school rigid chalkboard with tabs and clips and would draw out an entirely new harness, wire it, attach ends, wrap with correct cloth braid and butyl tape, then test it before removing and installing into the bike.. They were works of art compared to what he pulled off the bikes..
And that's why Brits drink warm beer, Lucas makes their refrigerators.

We restored a Jaguar XK140 Drophead for a customer years ago. All original except for a custom headlight switch bezel that instead of saying off / low / high was embossed off / dim / flicker. At the customers request.
The quality testing is where the cars need repairs because they can’t ship them to dealers because there’s parts missing or major defects that need to be corrected. Chrysler had the same problem in the 1970s where the Lynch Road Assembly plant had thousands of new cars that had so many problems they couldn’t ship them to dealers.
As always great advice Scotty on the key fobs. 👍🏻

Ford of Montebello in California is announcing that they have “found” unsold 2023 F150s and that they will be giving great deals. Wonder where they found them. 🤔
Ford books the sale when the truck rolls out the factory door; then store the “sold” truck on a lot; later they pay contractors to fix issues. Yes, it would make more sense to most people to not manufacture a truck until you had all the proper parts and processes; but that doesn’t make “Ford sense”. The accounting method drives the plant management’s behaviors. Been that way for decades.
thats every dealership
All these car companies do that idiotic sht, BMW makes orders they can't fulfill endlessly. I can't remember the last time something went out on the on paper delivery date instead of weeks late.
But, but, but, if you're a shareholder, you want/need to hear from the company the number of vehicles they produced. 🙃
They all do that.......
Former KY Speedway off I-71 has thousands parked there also. They did the same thing during the chip shortage.
Thanks for sharing haven't bought a Ford since 2002
There is an old abandoned car lot in my town. The local Ford dealership has probably 80 F-150s parked there. They had a bunch of them stored at another location in town too. Northwest Indiana for reference.
Part of the problem is the UAW demanding high $alary for a 4 day work week and better than most benefit pkg. Then the dealer bleeds to purchaser, the bank with high interest rates and the manufacturer wants his blood money. No American truck is worth $80+ grand
While the CEOs are sailing around on their yachts.
Those people should all be jobless instead of our tax payer dollars bailing them out, thats the free market, if people don't want to buy American cars because they suck then the American Auto industry should go under, but you know the typical "PeOPLe wOUld LoSe ThEIR joBs" yet they didn't care when they shut down that pipeline tho so... 🫠
I don't see no UAW workers sailing in yachts. But I routinely read about mcfarley's and barra's getting 40-50 million dollars yearly bonuses.
If mcfarley slashed his bones to 7x median pay, and kept us factories open -- I don't think people would have the audacity to demand more. If he was focused on quality and customers, engineers and mechanics would rally behind him.
That's not what happened though -- he took a ton of money (50mil?), moved factories to Mexico, made disastrous decisions (mache, lightning, ecoboost), and flipped the customers with 80-90k vehicles that are falling apart. And that's just him -- do realize that all his c-suit got showered in money.
I am having a hard time blaming it on the workers.
Has nothing to do with unions. Failure is a Ford business model. Henry hired mechanic to go into junkyards to look for usable parts. If they were usable he would look to how to insure failure.
There is less than 1200$ labor in a F150. It's not union greed. Every truck that comes off the line is already sold to a dealer for 12-14k profit, then the dealer marks it up. Also remember it was Ford employees that bailed out Ford back in '09. That's been almost 15 years ago and Ford is making us fight to get it back. When an honest man borrows he pays it back, not so with Ford.
Give me a simple truck for under 40,000 and i'm in.
Thank you, Scotty !
Your video editing is hilarious 😂 nice to listen to you.
Know why the British drank warm beer? Because their refrigerators were made by Lucas..!
I could recondition Lucas alternators blindfolded; I had one installed, another reconditioned unit ready in the trunk, a third being repaired. Typically, the rectifiers and voltage regulators would fail. With uncanny regularity.
I knew a guy that wore a shirt with that statement printed on it. He was an inspector at the classic sport car races.
Lucas started making vacuum cleaners.... it was their only product that didn't suck. 🤣
Bought a manual transmission 4-cylinder Tacoma new back in 2012. I wouldn't trade that thing for the price I paid for it (and I've been offered what I paid for it new).

Modern ICEVs have no mechanical connection between the accelerator pedal and the engine either. Some don't even have a throttle body at all in order to eliminate related pumping losses.
Also, most stories of "runaway cars" I have heard ultimately turned out to be things like stomping on the wrong pedal or getting stuck on the carpet-saver.
BMW is the famous example of engine without throttle body as a main throttle control (still have it but mostly throttle open was controlled within intake valves)

I live here and local Kentucky where they have 2 Ford plants. And they've got Thousands tens of thousands of trucks in fields empty mall parking lots. I could send you the pictures.
Those aren’t trucks, those are mouse buffets 😂
KCMO same thing 😂
The two locations for f150 manufacturing is Deerborn and Kansas City. Metalsa one of two frame suppliers are in Kentucky the other is Bellevue Ohio.
@@aaronrobarge9737I could be wrong, but I think they are assembling the F150 here in Louisville KY.
A few years ago, Ford was storing trucks in a field across the Ohio river near Charlestown Indiana. I don't think they are using that location any longer, but they are still using the Kentucky Speedway near Carrolton, KY.
I ordered a 2024 F150 in November and it has sat in a Kansas City lot for the past two months.
I live here in Kansas city near the Clay Como plant where they build them also. And there are litterly tens of thousands of them parked in big lots all over the city.
Ford has done that for years, if there is a problem with a part they store them fix them and ship them. Had a plant near me and seen it from time to time for decades.
Don't try to justify what Ford is doing the company is a joke.
Oh yeah. This brand new ford dealership around the corner from my job.)…. They had a bunch of tucks on the lot.. maybe about 40 of them.. now there’s only 15. Or 20. I couldn’t believe it. And the building is empty.
@@harveyhankerson8359 That goes to show there are a lot of stupid people. out there still buying Ford's. but they will learn the hard way once those Ford's start falling apart.
@@user-dp8gb9zu8v oh yeah.. you’re right. And that’s was a brand new building.. too. 😆😆😆🥲🥲🥲
It's not just Ford but all the brands that have these issues. The main problem is all these modules that the new vehicles have are made in China or other countries that just do not meet the original quality specs of the part when the manufacturer contracted them for the parts. The way to solve it is to eliminate all these options that are unnecessary in most new vehicles. Can you even buy a car with manual crank windows anymore?
Yes manual windows are still out there on little gas mixer cars and fleet style pickups
Toyota doesn't do that stupid stuff.
The govt for a long time insisted on "no frills" vehicles to "save money". They had crank windows. Then someone pointed out that the crank windows actually cost more than electric ones.
Glad I have a 94 Ford F150. 302 engine. Great truck. 👍
I drove by there 2 weeks ago, it's nut's seeing all of them! I work as a vehicle tester in the UP in the winter, we get a bunch of vehicle from Stalantis and GM up here seldom see any fords come through!
Little do you know Scotty, they added so many bike lanes in NYC, that if you don't take the subway you have to leave yesterday.
That's from so many people have electric bikes and electric scooters. You don't needto register them like with a car. You don't even need insurance or a license plate. But that may change too.
NYC is a cesspit
"Headlights go out and Hello Prince of Darkness." I guess that is better than a cloud of smoke from under the dash just before the engine stalls. Lucas electronics were legendary.
Lucas also invented the short circuit!
Scotty you are the best. You give great advice. I appreciate you and your channel. Never leave.
I got a 2018 f-350. It's had 4 recalls so far.... unbelievable considering how expensive it was..
So that's why I'm driving past Michigan international Speedway and seeing all of those F150s lately? And they are multiplying!
Ford must think they have a Toyota quality level truck....they've fallen very far below that level. Sadly I used to own an F-150...liked it...for a little while...then finally bought a Tundra. I'll never buy another ford product. Cheers🌿
Toyotas are getting sorry too!
@@waynelangston863I have 1st gen 2003 Tacoma 5spd still commands a nice penny.
Always find notes on it about selling. Great truck
Toyotas are rusted to bits by the time you make your last payment. Is the 05 one of the years that had the frame failures?
@philmckrackin …. I have a 2015 Toyota , hasn’t once been oil guarded , not a spec of rust
@@NickChemist-yf6oj 2 month old account?
I've joked before that the mice are driving the stored vehicles around and having a field day with them.
We went by MIS speedway on Brooklyn rd. last week on the way to the store.....there were 1000's of trucks. Parked super close together.... it was crazy.
Hi Scotty I've been waiting for a couple of weeks to hear you say this I knew this was coming from you😅
20 yrs back, i was doing constructiin work at the nissan plant in canton, ms. The parking lot full of half-built / practice cars made me sick. I was driving a 10 yr old F350 with more miles than a UPS truck frame, and these trash cars were brand new w/ dvd players, leather, you name it.... just rottingbin the sun, no glass, no roof, no doors.... just brand new wasted cars....
interesting...never heard of "Practice" cars...
Notice Ford no longer advertises "Quality is job 1?"
Only in Canada. 🇨🇦 I saw one last week.
I got a 2002 F-150 for $6k last year. V6, base model, long bed with the camper topper. Gets worse gas mileage than my GT Mustang but it sure is fun to off road and camp in.
This is why I'm mixed when it comes to new cars because the more bad new cars people buy the more available the older still functional cars become.
2 years ago I had a 99 F150 V6 long box with a stick shift and a canopy. Got low 20s on the highway. That thing would take crazy amounts of abuse and it was cheap to maintain. I should never have sold it. Yeah, it wouldn't get as good of mileage as a car but it was, in my opinion, just the right combination of fuel mileage and utility.
I love honda, mazda and old fords...buti i hope you have like 50k miles on that for $6k
Been doing this since I been working at Ford 8yesrs
It's interesting you mention the Jaguar. A few months back a prominent Grand Island NY couple were returning from Canada across the rainbow bridge. The security film showed their Bently many FEET in the air crashing and killing both of them. Not a word about the incident since
Scotty, you are absolutely right about Ford being less than truthful as to the reason they have so many new trucks stashed at the motor speedway.
My brother works at Toyota's San Antonio Texas truck plant which builds the Tundra, and he works in quality control and zero trucks leave the plant premises until they have passed ALL quality checks.
Love my Tundra.
their?????
Glad your Hooked on Phonics is paying off 4U...
Lots of storage lots full of Claycomo trucks as well.
Scotty, have you ever thought about taking over the Car Talk show on NPR? You’d do great!
Those trucks siting in fields not only rust, but critters make their nests in the engine compartment. Electrical Night Mare waiting. Don't buy a Truck younger than 2018.
So They’re* Throwing Them Away
They're theirs to throw away, anywhere but there 😅
I was looking for this comment lmao
Just 1 mile down the street from me there's a whole bunch of F150s parked in these lots in Dearborn Michigan. Must be 500 or more parked across from Walmart.
Speaking of cars which won’t stop. There are many videos of Diesel cars in engine run-away when a leak causes oil ingestion (leaky turbo bearing for example). About the only way to get it to shut off is to try to shove something into the air intake to cut off air supply. … or wait until the engine blows up.
Anything over 40K for a vehicle is theft to the consumers.
$35K is my limit...=)
99,999 is my limit. And only certified pre owned
@@DarkForce2024true!
Mitsubishi MIrage for 20k (or even less) is a heck of a deal... very reliable too. @@DarkForce2024
Paying even $1 for a Ford is theft.
Their?
There
they're, there,their
They do that at the old Kentucky speedway too
Quality control after their out of the plant ? There's never time to do it right but there's always time to do it later!
Yep , if they can't make 100% profit
Scrap it
They are probably parking the jeeps around to make it look like a ton of people were dumb enough to buy one.
The prince of darkness comment was priceless. Lucas is notorious man.
I live close to the Ford plant in Claycomo Mo. Fords been storing cars and trucks all over the north side of Kansas City for years. The old Metro North shopping center and Worlds of Fun in there off season. They dissappear as fast as they fill up....
People finally woke up on these overpriced turds $80k for a truck, $130k for a Jeep...insane
When you overcharge for an unreliable car packed w/ crap people don't need, what do you expect?
Driving through flint you’d be blown away, just driving down the highway and seeing everything rotting in lots next to the freeway.
I live about 30 miles from Fords Truck Plant in Louisville KY and last week I saw 5 or 6 F-350 dually trucks being transported from somewhere they are storing them in Jeffersonville IN across the Ohio river bridge back into Louisville to I assume the plant or a dealer. I have lived in and around Louisville all my life and this is the 1st time Ive ever seen them storing vehicles across the river into southern Indiana, so they must have all their normal storage lots full in Louisville and to my knowledge they had at least 3 different huge lots around the city that Ive seen them use in the past. The trucks definitely must not be selling as well as they used too.
