    Greetings from SW DC! Garden styles apartments don’t have luxury amenities but they often accommodate peoples budget.

    Other areas to consider are Takoma Park (quieter, safe, and more quaint), and downtown Silver Spring. These are not technically DC, but DC Metro (in Maryland). Metro takes you quickly to DC. In downtown Silver Spring there are a lot of luxury apartment buildings that compete to provide more at a lower price. Also the downtown SS has everything handy - supermarkets, pharmacy, restaurants, stores, breweries, and movie theaters at a walking distance.

    Cleveland Park is where "old money" lives. It runs from DC into Betheda/ Rockville. It has the top entry to the National Zoo. I would recommend it for anyone new to the area as crime is much lower than in the other areas recommended in this video....just speaking as a native of the DMV...(resident of Maryland but government worker.)

      I would try Zillow and Redfin! For a one bed you’ll be looking at 1800-2400, 2 bed will be more than that!

      I think it's fine! all neighborhoods in DC have crime so don't think that would make a big difference. It's in between H Street Corridor, close to the Capitol and Chinatown, and is walking distance to Union Station. You can get anywhere from Union Station. I think it's great.

    This was definitely very helpful to those who are moving here. I’m based out of the DMV area and was overwhelmed when I moved here for the first time 😆

    Hello, just found your channel. I'm going to shift to Washington DC to join George Washington University in June. Can you please suggest where to find budget friendly accommodation that has good public transport?

    • @rachelanita
      @rachelanita  Рік тому

      Hi Sampriti, thank you for your comment. What I would do is see what lines go to the Foggy Bottom-GWU metro stop. From what I'm seeing, it's the orange-silver-blue line. If you look up the map online, you can see the stop names. I'd recommend places between the stops Federal Center SW - Stadium-Armory. Eastern Market is very pretty. On the Virginia side, Rossln and Court House are your best bets. If you don't mind a train change, you can find some more affordable places on the Yellow and Green lines going north (Gallery Place - West Hyattsville) - West Hyattsville is my metro! If you can tell me your budget and what you're looking for (shared house, your own place), I can help you better. You can also email me. I love to help!

    The closer one lives to the metro train, the more expensive the houses are, also the rent. I love Washington, DC. I do love the older apartments and houses, more than the modern ones.
    😄Girl, let go of yourself!

      You’re right! I actually moved right out of the city- I’m 10 min walk from the metro now but have a roomy house. I love the older style houses and that’s what I bought ❤️❤️ modern ain’t for me

    Most of DC is a dump. Steer clear if thinking of moving there. Take the train into DC from an adjacent state. Warning, they aren’t much better but do offer more rural areas that still retain some beauty.

      Aww! I love DC. For some people, the chaos of it is what draws them in! I now live right outside the city for the space and greenery -- but I often miss living in the city!
