Dale, I'm an old man and I've watched you literally grow up. I can't imagine the pressure you felt coming up as a driver living in the shadow of a man like your dad. But you did. What I can honestly say is nobody has a bigger heart for racing, real racing like at North Wilksboro, than you do. Thanks for letting all of us see that.

I'm not sure I'd say nobody has a bigger heart for racing, there are a handful I could def throw into the conversation with Jr she talko g about the subject but he def is one of the few that are in that conversation

With the podcast broadcaster etc. This guy had all the right ammunition to F,,k things up but never did never fell to scandal nothing just a humble man. Seems like the heritage of the track makes the experience! If it becomes too commercialized like every other track it will loose that luster!

North Wilkesboro was a special moment - it's true you can't create that - it just happened! Usually you don't see a big star go back to his past and be so successful, plus get to be right there in the thick of things with fans, and people, and the smell of a nostalgic old race track with your old sponsor, plus now ya own the team that won! It was wonderful to see - people love ya June - enjoy this! 😘 🚗 🏁 🍻 Martha in Miami : )

The energy at North wilkesboro is just like our fall classic at Tri-Cities raceway tri- oval, which recently had their inauguration last year after 17 years of being closed. This place brings all the race classes of the northwest to one great end of season event. no points just Glory. October 1st 2022 I can't wait! Come on down to the desert of Washington State!

I’m a life long drag racing fan and I’m finding myself looking for every detail about the North Wilksboro race.
I was ready to phone in and purchase a ticket or two even though I knew I couldn’t make the race.
That was a very nice bit of nostalgia that was resurrected and I hope to do my part to show the world that is still alive and well.
I’ve been uninspired by Motorsports for well over 10 years until now.
This is good medicine for me myself.

Jr. Im from Elizabethton TN. Im sure you would be fine if you could never here the name of this place again. And ive felt the same way about this place! But they are alot of people here that love you and what you stand for and the tradition of racing and the history that you let the younger people no. Im the same age as you and as far back as i can remember I've always pulled for your dad really hard my whole life. So when you started racing me and alot of your dads fans inherited you to pull for! But theres so many moments from your career that you done that are pretty special and thats the last thing you would want to talk about. I dont no of any one who carrys on the tradition of old shcool racing history and information from that era like you do. We are a very lucky group of people to have you doing these shows. Im so glad that you decided to do this pod cast show it really catches my attention about some of your stories you talk about. Thanks for all the great work that you and your team does and the topics you guys research and come up with. Amazing

I remember going there in I believe it was '73 when Bobby Allison passed Richard Petty on the last lap. My dad was a charter bus driver and I went there with an all black Baptist Church group. Had a great time cuz my favorite driver won and I never ate so good my whole life. I also went with them to Charlotte and Martinsville. Me and my dad used to go to South Boston all the time too. I would love to go to North Wilkesboro for the All-Star Race. That's going to be a special moment.

Sad news about October's dirt events but now there's rumors circulating that the all star race is coming back to NC but not Charlotte which can likely only mean one thing. I have a theory on why the North Wilksboro race was so good.... It was as Dale Jr. Said the same as it was in the 80s and 90s. Less red tape and more people not caring and just LIVING IN THE MOMENT!!! If you cant tell by all the mullets and Budweiser we the people wantthe 80s and 90s back! Not only was it the last of its day in the Nascar racing aspect, but life was much more simple and FREE!

A rebirth of a track that helped a whole generation of fans understand the excitement small track racing is all about.

Dale you are one of the few people that has the honesty and the integrity that draws people to you with your spirit. You are a mentor to the young racers , and the older generation as well. North Wilkesboro was a great peek back to when racing was more in your face. That will always be the part of racing that makes the Saturday night home town tracks so much fun. Just had that feel but on a larger scale, it was a awesome event . I would encourage everyone to go to a race track in your area and watch some really good Saturday night racing. There are some damn good racers at these smaller hometown tracks . Once you go, you will never stop coming. Give it a try

For Dale to realize and acknowledge that the fans showed grace for the imperfections that accompanied the race is very humble and much appreciated. Junior "gets it". I feel like a lot of folks in NASCAR have lost touch a little bit (or a lot) with what its like for fans going to the track. Junior's humility here is so refreshing.
Its kinda like in 2019 when I took my wife and 4 kids to Talladega. We are Kyle Busch fans and were dressed like his merchandise truck threw up on us. Saw Kyle hanging out in his garage stall and he seemed hesitant to come over to sign autographs (maybe he wasn't - just my opinion). I told him "Kyle, our whole family loves you and pulls for you every week. We have been cussed out 5 times, and I almost had to whip a guys ass just walking here because you are not exactly "popular" at this place. Please sign our hats, or at least my kids hats". We struck up a conversation and he signed everything we had and he was extremely nice about everything. It was like he snapped out of "work-mode" to acknowledge what its like for his fans at some of these places. I'm in no way picking on Kyle, but it really feels like some of these folks forget what its like to be a fan at a track when they are in the grind of a season.

Jr. still remembers every lap, every shift, every pass. He's a big reason this race was a success. I wish I could have been there. I hope I can make it next time. As a NC native, I'll say this track deserves a rebirth. So much history. Every current driver should visit and compete at some point.

As someone who was there I cannot describe how magical that night was. Probably my favorite memory from that night was the one that last caution came out and you were in third how the whole sold out crowd was on their feet cheering. I never thought I would ever get to watch a race in North Wilkesboro Speedway but I did and couldn't have asked for a better experience!

It was simply a spontaneous happening, all you can do is create the conditions for it to happen but it has to sprout on it's own, this event was what I remember that attracted me to stock car racing.

I made it to the southern 500 a few days later. I can not believe how many of the Sun Drop #3 shirts were at the race. Great to see and proud to be apart of this sport!

This race buildup was only topped by the 94 Brickyard. Only oldtimers can relate. This is huge. Last winner was Jeff in the rainbow car. Congratulations Jr on 3rd and bring back memories of your old car I first saw you in 97. SIKKINS car I think was my favorite. Then you got The 3

I was in trackside camping, and i told my brother that being there and feeling the energy around the track was amazing! I had more fun being there then i had the 4 years of infield camping at Daytona for the 500! Will definitely be back, waiting for the announcement today!
