After a game update that let Pharoah Predasites +toxin apply separately instead of combining I think he's A tier now. He's actually become my favorite pet on my rhino. Also, in retrospect I was too focused on Smeeta Kavats damage and loot capabilities, and neglected the power of his +300% affinity buff. So I would actually put him in Utility tier since he has great potential as a helper when you're leveling stuff.
just came across this video randomly, coincidentally also built my pharoah for the first time, and yes, it is probably top 3 best dps pet against the 225 corrupted heavy gunner eximus i tested on, just toxin and slash build with a bunch of bond mods, also i found that it is about as panzer at spreading viral, as long as it is alive at least
The main thing I use the Smeeta for these days is leveling up frames or weapons. The xp buff pops more than I would think it would, and when it does it's a single round for a full level.
Also, DE recently buffed affinity drops (those orange diamonds) from granting 100 affinity to 1000 affinity. An affinity booster, blessing, and a stack or two of Charm really makes them go crazy.
Smeeta's affinity Charm buff is actually fairly substantial while levelling gear. So if there was a use I would give to Smeeta, it's as a levelling pet.
Vascas are insanely powerful due to its other precept mod Draining Bite. That paired with contagion bond, duplex bond, and the very high status chance on the Vascas claws makes it have the potential to room nuke very easily, especially with fire status… Vascas def deserves to be higher, since you don’t need to use its revive mod…
16:30 i didn't know that taxon's ability was affected by armour that's actually so balls. insane that taxon's whole schtick is outclassed by a mod you can use on any robotic companion i understand taxon's just tenno's first sentinel but surely he deserves better than to be replaced the second you get a new companion. i propose a rework, change his ability to increase the duration of the next shield gate by x amount with a cooldown. this would keep his ability in a similar theme to how he is now, while teaching new players about the importance of shield gating, maybe still being useful to other frames? at the very least not being utterly useless in endgame, and differentiating itself enough from guardian. guardian with this new ability and manifold bond would be kinda nuts though lol idk just a thought cheerio
Id put taxon in a tier. Guardian + its shield generation preset + manifold bond goes kinda crazy for survivability with them reset. Taxon wouldve been my sentinel of choice if I didnt spam nautilus already
31:50 IIRC anabolic pollination is the mod that was doing this. I think this was included in the "adds a base element" mods that were updated in the 1999 patch (e.g. volt, frost, and ember augments). I think these now work as separate damage instances like Toxic Lash and Xata's Whisper too (in the event that does something especially goofy for builds like those two abilities can). It's kind of a side grade but generally I've found I've had more issues getting isolated basic elements into builds than getting any secondary elements in so I'd largely say that's a buff for me. Plus it's more of a thematic win IMO.
The hound is by far the number one damage companion in the game. It primes whole rooms with up to 5 stats if you mod it and it's weapon right. If you make sure at least 2 are radiation and viral and it can easily clear whole rooms of steal path on its own let alone how it primes and synergizes with your frame and weapon build. The only downside is it's hard to get one and the mods take rep with multiple factions. Or you could just buy it all with plat. If anyone is interested in the build you can whisper me in game w/SP45M. Also thanks for the video 👍and subscribed.
i tried to make moas good, for about an hour today. the emote basically stuns the moa itself the pull effect is very janky, smaller than nautilus the slow aura effects the warframe too in some cases, which i am certain is a bug, otherwise has potential the rest is just bad, not worth using imo if they buff the pull, change the emote somehow and fix the slow aura it would be decent
Run moa with batoten weap and mod for viral rad magnetic heat , use bond mod for status and synergized prospectus. It will proc 6-7 status instantly on a huge aoe with multiple stacks. The Best companion for AOE priming and shieldgating in the game. You can also use reinforced bond on it and everything.
@MourtDoesYT Moas cannot use batoten.the best companion for aoe priming would be the hounds, best one for shieldgating and aoe grouping would be nautilus, right now moas only have 2 good skills, disregarding the one that replenishes the shields for the moa itself: and they are slow-dmg reduction aura and the weaker pull, which doesn't perform nearly as well as the nautilus' . there is no reason to use it
Smeeta is still good for leveling frames and weapons. He has the affinity buff in his charm. And sadly I think that will literally be the only time I use my meets anymore.. very sad, we've been thru a lot together he and i.
Genuinely caught off guard by how low you put Sahasa - The only placement I disagreed mind you. That said, I've enjoyed the series as a whole so thanks for all your hard work. ❤
@rudycastillo4150 that's a good idea, they kinda allowed that to happen with jades bow (forgot the name) where it let's puncture go to 7. Since it's already basically coded in the game would be a super quick upgrade :😜
Depending on the warframe, the strain mod for bonus health from strain maggots could be used with Arcane Bellicose to hit break points? Not a huge list that can benefit, certainly not enough to boost the charger out of C tier, but a neat consideration for high health frames that need ability strength but don't easily hit 3k HP.
I find the pull from Nautilus really annoying. I don't want what I'm attacking to suddenly start floating away in the other direction. It's not as bad in solo, but in multiplayer when everyone is running nautilus it can be a problem.
Pretty cool and informative video! I haven't tried many of the Beast companions and Moas yet and it's good to know which good ones I've been missing out on so far, as well as which ones to avoid. One thing I'd like to point out on the Stasis Field precept though; IIRC the 60% DR it grants should be multiplicative with other sources of DR (e.g., armor, adaptation, DR from skills, etc). And since it is multiplicative, it will always cut incoming damage by 60%, no matter if you're at 0%, 50% or 99.9% innate DR, so this is VERY strong - regardless if applied to shields or health for any frame.
MOA is BROKEN with batoten and the moa mod that send an electric turd. It can proc 6-7 status instantly on a large AOE while also having access to sentinel mods like guardian etc and ofc bond mods. S tier at the very least. For almost all uses its better than nautilus except very few exceptions. EDIT: for Adarza, if you run any invis frame with arcane crepuscular and tenacious bond, you can feed exergis 4.2 multiplier and if that thing crits , with crux arcane and a blast build it can hit for millions. Even without adarza its viable with vigilante set. Exergis on a decent build can have 120k base dmg before crits per shot. Crux will turn 1 shell into 3 because with multishot u can max it instantly.
hey great list, i have a little question about nautilus, you said he is one of the best primers for melee frames but cordon doesn't apply status effects through manifold because it deals no damage, do you just go a combination of hellstrum + coolant leak (now works with manifold bond) like i do or is there something more to it?
Sunika be doing 6-12mils crit and nuke room but got put in B rank 😢. Pharoah can viral, slow cc and give free toxic lash, idk why they so low. My pharoah have 105%cc and 395.5% sc and it can kill + buff and debuff...
Nice video, Salt! Also, is your name Salt due to the buckets of sweat after every workout? That brain's been flexing mighty hard! Joking around aside, that was an amusing one; I'll admit that I was surprised by the Charger being ranked higher than some Predasites, but the Strain set really does pick up some slack for its lacking base kit! (I'm looking at you, Proboscis..)
@-GuessMyName thanks guessmyname!!! My original "gamer name" I came up with about 15 years ago was "Salt Warrior", but over the years it's shortened to just Salt in most games. I was an infantry assaultman in the US Marines and at the time it was common to call Marines who'd done 2 or more combat deployments "salty" or "Salt dog" or "Salt warrior". So that was my reasoning I making the name. But of course about the same time it became common to call other gamers who were tilted in one way or another "salty". But I decided to stick with it anyway lol 😆 Thanks for comment! Hope you're having a great day!

Hey there Salt! I'm looking for some advice on which companion would be best for my Harrow (I'm not using any subsumes, nor am I using any unique weapon combos, unless you count the ax-52). I'm having a tough time deciding which companion would be the most useful. Any recommendations?
Ooo good question! Someone said nautilus already which is always a good option. Panzer vulp would be good for viral spreading. I think those 2 are you best options for harrow if your not using a subsume or a specific type of weapon.
Smeeta's "farming" ability to spawn resource didn't got nerfed, it did that before. What got nerfed was Universal Booster, instead of doubling resources, cash and affinity now it only triples affinity.
Can't belive i watched the whole 52 minutes💀 Also just want to add how frustrating it is when you see that your pet or even your squadmates pet is dodn for even the 2nd time in the match, so vulpaphylas and sentinels automatically always will be my go to

It's really good, but it rarely proks for me. I'm farming daily focus right now, and in 5 days it proked twice, once it happened after i was done.
i think i ran the math once and on average it was like a 30-40% increase in affinity gains.

Oxylus' "Scan Matter" precept also breaks crates every 3 seconds. I keep it equipped when killing Thralls on Earth to collect stuff to make Apothics.
@senselocke it's like super vacuum too, because it'll break a crate 60 meters away AND bring the contents to you.

Inaros can benefit from finishers with his passive lifesteal, but his 1 can open them to finishers anyway so there isn't much purpose.
