I made the same mistake with the DJI Pocket that I made with the DJI Mavic Mini, I watched far too many videos to try and help me to decide whether to buy one or not. Eventually, it was you who convinced me to go with the Mini. I should have gone straight to you for the Pocket. Your videos tell me everything that I need to know, including all the pros and the cons. You also explain things in a way that even newbies like me can understand, despite the fact you talk pretty fast lol. Everything worked out fine, because this time, even though I had watched a lot of other videos, it was watching your Pocket 2 videos that convinced me yet again, to buy one. It should be arriving any day now 🙂
I love how thorough this was... but basically, if I've got this correct, the only two accessories really worth having from the Creator Combo is the wide angle lens and the do it all handle.
This was exactly the info I needed to know about the DJI Osmo Pocket 2, thanks for going through all the details on the camera in terms of set up and what is included.
Dear Billy I was confused whether to buy pocket 2 or creator . I have seen many video but you have explained each & everything in a good manner. Thanks a lot .
Just got this. Its just WILD how good it is. Frankly im just amazed. The remote mic is awesome, the camera is awesome, the gimbal works awesomely. Why didnt I know a package like this existed? Just wild. Low light performance completely blows gopro away. Ofc gopro has other advantages, but wow. I will say your comparison was a bit odd. Its not like you'd ever go around holding a lapel mic infront of your mouth like that. So the sound quality comparison becomes way off. And sure, walking in a quiet environment talking close to the camera, the built in mic works fine. But move away a bit and... or sit a couple meters away from the camera indoors and... it becomes not even 1/10th as good as the wireless one. Which works just great.
7:37 - Billy you answer another question I had. Is the mic quality better with a different lapel mic. That sound was crispy to say it came out of that little bity device. Thanks for doing a great job for your viewers. You may not have Peter Mckinnon follower numbers but you do a much better job than him when it comes to reviewing tech products. Keep up the good work.
Another killer video. Keep up the good work. Definitely gotta go for the Creator Combo here. To quote a wise old friend of mine, “I'm gonna go broke saving money!” 🎸
Do I understand correct that if you connect wireless mic than the built in microphones do not work and you have to use something with a wire if you want to make an interview and someone is standing away from you? Can you buy second wireless mic if you decide to put the pocket to on a tripod and speak in front of the camera with the interviewee?
Hi Billy, I came across your video for this combo kit review. Can we please get a link for the lapel mic? Hope to get a reply from you, all the love from the Philippines. ☺️🇵🇭
I remember buying one of these Creator Combo’s over two years ago and till this day have not used it once. Neat idea, but was way too small for my preference.
I switched from the Sony ZV-1 to the Pocket 2. Yes, I sacrifice a little bit of image quality but it's just simpler to manage on the go. The wireless audio with a Rhode smartlav+ has been great needing very little work in post. The magnetic deadcat is something Sony should have thought of instead of sacrificing the hotshoe. My biggest complaint is the case, the little accessory holders are unreliable, I've dropped the wide-angle lens and the iPhone connector from the case, lucky I was aware of it quickly and didn't lose them. I don't trust it anymore.
Would it be best to get a plug in mic like you said and used, rather than another wireless one? I’d hope to find one with a long cord if that’s going to be the best option. BUT… Great, Excellent review! Your ability to speak fast and clear is amazing.I’m looking forward to receiving my combo kit tomorrow more now than before watching this video. I’m trading in my Insta360 Link because it’s just not working for me. That one needs to be tethered to my laptop and created a whole handful of issues and inconveniences.
Awesome job as always Billy. I love that the parts of both the Osmo pocket 1 and pocket 2 are COMPATABLE.. 👍👍 Nice going DJI! I also LOVE that you give a 100% HONEST REVIEW on whatever it is YOUR SHOWCASING! EXCELLENT job! Can't wait to get mine! ✌️✌️💙💙 Mikey
Hey @BillyKyle! Great video. I'm curious about your take on the wireless mic attachment for live music. Do you think it is better for capturing audio in a concert space vs. the built-in mic? Thanks!
Came across your video as I was searching for reviews on DJI pocket 2 and you're the best reviewer so far 👍🏻. Thanks for explaining more on the creator combo kit. I recently bought the osmo pocket about three months ago and I'm gutted😔 . I also bought the freewell wide angle lens . So fortunately I didn't spend a lot of money on accessories. I do like my Osmo pocket but I'll probably sell it and replace it with pocket 2 with creator combo kit as I love the wireless mic, zoom, wide angle lens and everything about it.
- gopro 10 or 11 - durable, water and dust proof. perfect stabilisation - iphone + stabilizer - budjet solution but this camera loocs small and handy so why not, creator combo seems profitable, but you still can buy 2 gopro's) or gopro and stabilizer for iphone and light or external mike)
I think not the charging case as there are some differences in size (I thiink at end of this video there was a photo of a forthcoming new version?). The extension rod is compatible though, which is good as it's a fantastic creative accessory. On the DJI site there is a chart showing which accessories can be used with which device.
Excellent and informative summary - thanks! And here come my questions - can an external stereo mic be used with either the do it all stick directly, or with the transmitter, to get a stereo recording (I don't mean using a stereo mic to get a mono recording). And, is it true that there's a headphone output on the same jack as the do it all handle's mic input? So if you used a trrs mic / earphone thingy from a phone, you could hear what you'd recorded in stereo, or even monitor the sound while recording?
Nice straight to the point videos, Thanks! Question: can the wireless microphone be connected to something else than DJI Pocket2? like to a PC to be used for zoom meetings for example?
@@rookie693 Thanks for your input. Yes, I think so too. The mic transmit with a given standard frequency, but I dont know if a PC has a receiver for that frequency in it, and anyway, DJI would have to make it possible (which I am sure it can, in some way). Alternatively, I notice that the do-it-all has bluetooth, then it could in principle be able to re-transmit data by bluetooth to a PC. Actually, I dont know the purpose of that bluetooth in the do-it-all. I tried to pair it to my PC, the PC sees the device, but pairing would not work... Another mystery to solve...
@@Hiking-guide-and-scenery Yep. I'm planning on getting this so I can atleast get better videos than what my phone offers. And this really is a good product
Sorry if this is a "noob" question, but is there a way to turn up the sound on the mic? like how much sound it can take in while recording? I am using the external mic, and I feel that it doesn't take in sound very well from people who are talking next to me, I have to adjust and tinker with the sound in DaVinci editing software later, to make the sound better.
