I love using the pocket 2 for everyday video/vlogging or when I am downtown in the city I live. I like using it better than an iPhone or my big camera because people don’t even realize you’re recording on the pocket 2, that is very beneficial if you’re filming in a sketchy area, I rather have the pocket 2 taken than my iPhone. Also it is easier to recording inside places. The cons are the overheating, the low light performances, and the files get broken up to several clips. A lot of people look a specs but you have to really focus on usability which the pocket 2 has a great form factor.
the thing i dislike about mine is that it overheats. ive read reviews saying its common since it is a small device but sometimes in summer its just too hot to hold. another thing i dislike is that it automatically mirrors your video when the camera is flipped facing you. you cant turn it off either. its perfectly normal when taking selfies tho so i dont understand why the mirroring is so different with videos
hey i've been looking to see if theres a way to change this from the pocket itself and haven't been able to find anything. the only way i found to change it is connecting to your phone and then on the mimo app it comes out normal. If you found a way to change it from the pocket please let me know!
@@roblopez6781if you attach it to your phone, you can switch it through the DJI Mimo app. You’ll see the little icon at the bottom of your phone screen, when it connects to the app.
When connected to a phone does it start charging?? I'm asking cause whenever I connect my Osmo Pocket 1 the phone starts charging and the battery drains to zero in minutes. Did they fix that?? IF not then it's not worth buying!
I’m not into camera kind of person, don’t really know what specs etc to look out for in camera, I just read reviews & watched vids for feedbacks from UA-cam to understand more, however I managed to get a P2 & indeed, super lightweight & easy to use, I literally ❤ it a lot and definitely no regrets buying P2 rather than waiting for P3😁😂
I bought mine some time ago. Thinking the time-lapse would be 4k. I love how it pans on the gimbal but 1080p hmm just not good enough. I had the attachment on the lens for a wider field of view on the camera while mt biking. It was magnetic. It fell off. hmm, lost and gone. I stopped using it about there. Still got it. Do like your video, well done. I should have used it more. It's just sitting with the ALD 360 camera doing nothing. I guess my sony a1 is a little better. For a cheap vlogging camera it's good.
I just got OP2. Main advantage over anything else is size factor. As nowdays (and maybe always were) people are sceptic whether they will end up on some platform and with that said often put a face when they see someone doing videos, with OP2 they do not even pay attention when I tried it few times outside. Aside that quality of video blows any high end phone. I came long way from high end phones+gimbal, RX100V+gimbal, A6000+Sigma lenses, few action cameras to Pocket 2. For personal use only.
This is a very well put together video. It has told me all I would want to know about buying a DJi pocket 2. I have been contemplating for a few weeks. I found this video and it's a yes for me. Thanks for the clear and precise information.
Thanks for a great review, I’m just looking at getting started with some vlogging and I was looking for a camera with an external mic option, found this one and thought it looked ok. I appreciate your honesty with its pros and cons. Question- where did you have the mic when you were recording in the woods? Does it attach to the camera or is it attached to you?
Hi there, I suggest starting with an iPhone! iPhones have great cameras. I started off with my iPhone 12 Pro I now have the iPhone 14 pro max and it’s awesome with vlogging! It’s the only camera I use for my videos
That was by far the best review Ive ever watched! GREAT JOB... This camera looks like it will be a great addition for our studio and capturing behind the scenes stuff for social media. Rock and Roll!
Good video covering the main ups and downs of the Pocket 2.. I've been using it for just over a year and even started a new channel with it a few weeks ago. I totally agree with your use suggestions for the camera and I've found it very useful & easy to use. The one thing I wish I could get right is the exposure but I guess I'm ready for an upgrade? I would still recommend the P2 as it definitely gets you going with ease.
I still use my pocket 2, but it is falling behind my OM 6 gimbal & iPhone 14 pro for video and photos. The main advantage of using the Pocket 2 is the small size, and the ease of using the wireless mic that comes with the creators combo to record decent audio in the field. Nice video, thanks for sharing.

I don't think you are using the term "read out" correctly. Yes it can do 64MP photos but that is a stitching process of 4 x 16MB photos. The sensor's native readout is from a 16MP sensor, not 64. 64MP is "effective pixels", not the same as the number of pixels packed on to the sensor.
Is the Creator Kit worth it for better sound + longer handle if I'm NOT vlogging? Or would the mic pick up be worse since it's more for near-field voice?
i bought the creator kit and honestly i dont use the mic. its pretty good by itself. ofc it still picks up background noise but its still better compared to my dslr

@schadbendiyan3844 Yes very much so, I got the creator kit but it's pretty unnecessary. If you can get a creator combo in sale I would say go for it. The audio is great. The wireless mic I only used like 2x because I was on a motorcycle and the wind was bad. It certainly came in handy. The mini tripod it comes with is great however I lost mine in kashmir (oops). And I really like the wide angle lense for vlogging. The colors are great. The cons as follows. No swapping the battery. And you have to be really careful not to drop it. It's not water proof. I have the original OSMO Pocket from DJI, and I continue to use it to this day. The battery still holds a good charge and my OSMO Pocket still functions 100 % 👍 *The Pocket 2 is most definitely NOT worth getting today,* as there is no real image quality increase over the pocket 1. Cell phones are beating the pants off of the Pocket 2. There is *a real sucky limitation in regards to shooting time-lapse movies on the Pocket 1 & 2 = Time-lapse movie output is limited to only 1080p ! WTF ? That's not good enough !* 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻The DJI *Action 2 Camera is a major step up in image quality and overall functionality* over the Pocket 2 IMHO, based on its *ability to output time-lapse movies in 2.7K and 4K* along with more built in features and a slightly better lens and sensor from what I can see (??). I should also add I honestly think the original OSMO Pocket, even though it has a slightly smaller image sensor, does a *noticeably better job of image quality capture in low light* than its immediate successor does.
Thanks for sharing this information. I'm traveling overseas next month and wanted something besides my phone to take pictures and videos. I was looking at the DJI Pocket 2 and Osmo. The price for the Pocket 2 are pretty high a niche product. I may just get a dedicated gimbal
@@CharisMaggieTV No. I would go for the DJI Action 2, but make sure you get the latest firmware update with it and you will be able to do everything the OSMO Pocket #1 and 2 cannot, including 2.7K and 4K Time-Lapse Movie output, and shooting in the rain.

Thank you for this! ESP comparing it to the action 🙏🏽
Thanks for sharing this information. I'm traveling overseas next month and wanted something besides my phone to take pictures and videos. I was looking at the DJI Pocket 2 and Osmo. The price for the Pocket 2 are pretty high a niche product. I may just get a dedicated gimbal
So do you recommend just getting the OSMO pocket instead?
@@CharisMaggieTV No. I would go for the DJI Action 2, but make sure you get the latest firmware update with it and you will be able to do everything the OSMO Pocket #1 and 2 cannot, including 2.7K and 4K Time-Lapse Movie output, and shooting in the rain.
@@markjob6354 wow thanks so much for your insights
I wanna vlog so badly but I'm still not sure on getting the pocket 2 or just settled with an osmo se and my iphone. I'm a beginner and will do lots of solo traveling this year. I'm wary some people might hate having camera right on their face, but I just can't help. Osmo SE would win in terms of budget though 🤔
great review :)
Check out my mountain hike footage with the DJI Pocket 2 in 4K Ultra HD quality, to see how the quality can be :)
waiting for pocket 3
I need it to launch my influencer career
Hi, to make this video you used a different camera, I would like to know how different it would be if you were using the Pocket 2. Do you think that for a studio distance, like you in this video it could be still a valid option?
I wish I have it but, I can't afford the osmo now...
Not the best vlogging camera but ok for beginners ; Low profile and the gimbal ; Great
