Best review yet. The sample videos are just so perfect to show of the upgraded video quality. I really like the fact that you used the automatic mode in the normal color profile. Every other tech Youttuber did their whole color grading stick, which drives me insane. I want to see how this thing performs on its own. ND filters are great, but i need something simple that'll work right the second i need it. I never got an Osmo Pocket 1 because the automatic mode was simply unusable. Choppy videos, the colors were off, whites were blown out... it seems like they really fixed off of those issues. I'm super stocked to see more sample shots on this from your channel!
Isn’t that just typical of DJI. they come out with a ground breaking piece of kit. And just leave it there for two years. As soon as the competition have spent all their money on Rand D and expensive launches.. D.J.I. come along and put them back into the Stone Age... don’t you just love ‘em 😂
Have been waiting for this release for a long while now! The original has been epic for travelling around the world and vlogging. Pretty stoked with certain parts of this version, HOWEVER, even as epic as the do it all handle is, I can't help but think it should;d've been part of the overall design - as some competitors have been doing for a while now
Thank you so much for making files available. Really useful for me to evaluate not only the quality of the files but how they handle in my NLE for grading and playback. Also I notice two sets of stereo audio channels in the first town clip. I am going to explore these files further. Thank you so much. Ray.
Stupendous review of the DJI Pocket 2! I'm considering getting this impressive device. Man, it seems as though DJI found a plethora of alien technology somewhere out in space and putting it in their products. I like the DJI Pocket 2. Happy New Year to you by the way.

The Pocket 2 looks really good. Your review was awesome. You packed tons of great information into it. Keep up the good work. As an added bonus for me personally, I got to see some nice images of the city where i went to college 30 years ago (Drexel U. in West Philadelphia). I don't get back there very often. You did a great job on this. Definitely hit on a lot of the complaints I had with the first one...that I loved. I was hoping to hear about the changes on the new controller wheel. Otherwise, stoked to hear everything you said.
Thank you Billy. I found you yesterday while I was trying to set up my new Pocket 2 and I’m glad I did since the company video is not very useful. I subscribed and rang the bell so I know when you upload new videos. These videos are so helpful for me since this is my first Vlogging equipment. I’ve been recording my UA-cam videos using the Canon EOS 90D but it’s a bit much and heavy to take with me so this Pocket 2 is perfect. I look forward to more videos and thanks again! 🧕🏻

Giving the option to view the footage and photos without youtube´s compression is the best thing in this review. Now I know how CRISP the image really is.
Question: I notice than when looking at your review and others of the Pocket 2, yours video quality looks so much more crisp, with other reviewers the video quality when walking fast or moving the camera looks very pixelated. You have to buy the 499 for the wide angle lens (or purchase it separately on the dji store), though the built in lens is still much wider than the original pocket 1
Do you know what is the closest distance to focus an object? I'm not sure if someone already asked this but I wanted to throw the question anyways. Nice review 🙂
@billykyle That was the best overview of the Pocket 2 that I have seen to date. It was throughly detailed and still interesting. As an owner of the original Osmo Pocket you helped me decide whether or not to upgrade this time around. Thanks!
Great review Billy I would like to know how is the built on the DJI Pocket 2 do you have be really careful to not break it or is it pretty rugged since I never owned one and I also like to know how well it does in low light.

I checked out a few of the 64MB still images and for 11x14s prints...very doable. Those "swirls" only appear after 100%, who cares how DJI figured it out. What is driving me crazy is that you have images on your Instagram feed of "Old Barney" from your drone. I was there a couple of months ago and the DJI 4 app would not let me take off because it's a National Park. How did you get around that? PS...I tried to type as fast as you talk...ain't happening...haha.
Great info Billy. Maybe I missed it, but does it have built in wifi now? The lack of built in wifi, tripod mount and strap attachment point were my biggest issues with OP1. I've spent nearly as much on accessories as I did on the camera :) Thanks
Thanks for this review! I know the video clips in this review are on the normal profile, but have you had a chance to compare D-Cinelike between Pocket 2 and the original?

Show us the film-more package like Rick of Drone Valley Did. the film-more package comes with a whole bunch of extra things. It's amazing how they get these cameras and all the accessories.
Wow, great review! Maybe I missed it, but do they say anything about weather resistance? That’s one of the big reasons I use a GoPro here in rainy Vietnam.
Actually this is not an action camera. So its not water resistant right of the box. However there is a waterproof casing available with DJI for Pocket series, which can serve your purpose.
Hi Nice video though, I’m a travel vlogger and I want to use it as the primary camera for shooting so Is that tiny screen make sense to shoot b-rolls by using its own small screen? I mean is that visible enough to see what lens is capturing?
Quick question - how good is wind noise cancellation in the internal mics? There are cases when you have to shoot videos but you can't attach a wireless mic to an object (like a car's exhaust). Also is there any way to attach a hot show mic like Video Micro to this Pocket 2? At this moment I think it may probably be attached via a hot shoe to 1/4" adapter which is screwed to the bottom of Do-It-All Handle. Please let me know if there are better solutions. TIA.
Question. Is it possible it to transfer a video from the Pocket 2 directly to an iphone and then able to quickly share the video on social media. Thanks.
Great video and review..I will probably get one..I'm still happy with my ozmo pocket 1, Action and my latest purchase is the dji mini 2 for my first drone..Thanks ...Take Care.
I liked your review. this version 2 came with my expectations rather than version 1 that I sold before. the remained issue for me is the small screen that I have to use my glasses all the time and is not possible in all conditions and locations, and when I connect to my iPhone is not shooting video smoothly and seems gimble is not working anymore! please advise maybe I missed something in the setting. thank you
@@billykyle i think I couldn’t ask my question properly! Let’s put it in this way: when i connect to iPhone the gimbal is not working anymore and footage will be without stabilization! What to do?
We'll ask the "elephant in the room question..." Will our existing packs of costly ND filters for the OP1 fit the Pocket 2? Asking because we bought the new version as soon as DJI opened the store today. Billy? Anyone?
I like everything about the update except the wider angle of view because I think it looks unnatural - not as much as action cams but still. Could have talked more about the accessories for example the joystick. Next video?
New generation Osmo Pocket this time with a BIGGER sensor? WIDER FOV?! Wider ISO range?! Yes to all!

Could you tell me if the DJI Pocket 2 has a better camera than the iphone 12 pro and iphone 12 pro max?
TIA.
Great review thanks Billy. I'm a noob to DJI - can anyone tell me if it has an SD card or do you transfer files via iPhone?
Add some video output from that extra usb-c on the do-it-all handle for livestream purposes and it'd be a perfect little package
Can you do an audio test with 2 people walking and talking. Thanks
Hello!
Does motionlapse and hyperlapse also support RAW DNG and in what resolution does it shoot them?
Question. Is it possible it to transfer a video from the Pocket 2 directly to an iphone and then able to quickly share the video on social media. Thanks.
Nuff said! I’m getting the Osmo Pocket 2!
Great video and review..I will probably get one..I'm still happy with my ozmo pocket 1, Action and my latest purchase is the dji mini 2 for my first drone..Thanks ...Take Care.
Good review. Does it connect wireless to the DJI Mimo App ?
Hey Billy good video. Curious, did you try the Extension Rod from the original Osmo Pocket with the Pocket 2? If so does it work?
Thanks for this great review. And congratulations in advance, road to 100k subs! 👍🏻
Sooooo close!!!
I liked your review. this version 2 came with my expectations rather than version 1 that I sold before. the remained issue for me is the small screen that I have to use my glasses all the time and is not possible in all conditions and locations, and when I connect to my iPhone is not shooting video smoothly and seems gimble is not working anymore! please advise maybe I missed something in the setting. thank you
Yeah, small screen is tough. Connecting a phone will help for sure.
@@billykyle i think I couldn’t ask my question properly! Let’s put it in this way: when i connect to iPhone the gimbal is not working anymore and footage will be without stabilization! What to do?
Good job, Billy (as ALWAYS). Keep 'um coming. What a great little unit... . Cheers, Chuck (NE Florida) : +)
Will the original accessories fit and work with the new camera thanks
We'll ask the "elephant in the room question..." Will our existing packs of costly ND filters for the OP1 fit the Pocket 2? Asking because we bought the new version as soon as DJI opened the store today. Billy? Anyone?
I heard we can't zoom in/out with original osmo. Can we do that osmo pocket 2?
I like everything about the update except the wider angle of view because I think it looks unnatural - not as much as action cams but still. Could have talked more about the accessories for example the joystick. Next video?
Yes, next video will focus on the creator combo as a whole
Does Osmo2 has underWater housing for diving deep to -40meters ?
Very thorough review. Awesome. Thanks.
Thanks for including info about shooting stills with this device.
I wish you tried the HDR mode or talk more about it.
sorry
how do you go so long with that much energy? thanks for the review can the pocket 1 filters on the pocket 2
