    You should talk about the polyphony spec. 192 compared to the p45 which is only 64

    • @justingraves9049
      @justingraves9049 4 роки тому

      Yes. Was trying to play dual hand chords on a p45 at a music store and I noticeably could tell notes were dropping out and not being played. Polyphony count really matters while playing robust sounds with sustain petal or poly rythems. P45 is ok for learning piano, not for rocking out.

    Is the piece you played at 4:30-4:39 part of a song or was that just improv because I love how that sounded!

    Many thanks for sharing. We are thinking to buy an upright piano for our 5 years old daughter. Of course, the electric one is much cheaper than the acoustic one. What's your opinion on the children's piano education? Hope to have your reply.

    How to store the sounds and other settings in the keyboard in order not to reprogram it every time? thank you very much

    • @jcwpiano
      @jcwpiano 7 років тому +1

      Fred Touch - you need to use an iOS device (iPad, iPhone etc.) with the Yamaha Digital Controller app. You edit the sounds there and then save and recall from within the app. Alternatively you can use a button combination to recall the last used settings (this is in the manual, so you can check it out).

    can the left hand be dedicated to one of the outputs - to be able to send it to a bass amp?

    Hi! I've been thinking about buying a digital piano (my piano skills are basics, I'm a beginner). There is a new P-105 at a local music store. But I'd like to know your opinion which one is better (P-105 or P-115)? The price difference is quite little so I really would like to know if there are any big differences between these two.

    • @NStuffMusic
      @NStuffMusic  8 років тому +1

      +Alicecovers Hi! The Yamaha P105 is the predecessor to the P115. The P115 is an improvement in a number of ways. More features, better piano sound, improved action and increased polyphony (how many notes that can play simultaneously). There's also an iPhone/iPad app for ease of operation. The 105 has been discontinued for almost two years now, and if it were me, I would spend a couple of extra dollars and get the newest model that comes with a 3 year warranty! Call or email if you have any other questions.
      Good Luck! - Tony

    I am soon to have enough saved to make the investment. I do have a Yamaha NP-12, and it interfaces also with the Controller app. What is cool with using that so the iPad stays charged, you can use the Bluetooth UD-BT01' which feeds the iPad MIDI wirelessly so you can charge with the Lightning connector. IT is only compatible with IPad 3 and up. it is a bit tricky to set up, but it really works well when you figure what apps to get to use it. these apps are free.

    I read that the keys in this piano become flimsy and lose their weight after awhile... Is this true????

    • @jeffryan6423
      @jeffryan6423 8 років тому +2

      Yes, it's true! I've been in living hell with this piano since April. It tricks you with the cheap Graded Hammer "Standard" touch weight. It was solid and normal for 2 weeks. I gigged for two weeks, all of a sudden I started to notice looseness. It has gotten worse and worse in the past 5 months. The counter-balance weights are obviously all broken or fell off (however ya wanna put it). I never imagined a digital piano doing this and becoming this way. At all times when your fingers hit the keys while playing it sounds like a miserable tapping plastic sound. It's loud from the plastic weights or whatever it is that are slapping under the keys with every press of every key. It sounds like taking your finger nail and tapping a plastic coca cola bottle while your playing. It's horrible. Not only the plastic slapping as your finger hits the keys, but on the release of all keys (black included) you're getting a nasty click on the release with something smacking back up at the key on the release. It's loose, flimsy and rattling sounding and extremely unpleasant to play at all times. All 88 keys have completely lost their weight. The keys also become extremely slippery and greasy and your fingers slip off the keys constantly. The only reason I've been punishing myself playing it is because I just don't have enough money yet to throw this in the garbage and buy a more expensive one with graded hammer (action) which is a far better more professional make with out the noise and tapping cheap plastic sounds. In due time I will! The P115 is a joke and complete trash!!!!!! Try playing "Right Now" by Van Halen and hearing the god awful smacking plastic sounds of the keys. Or Playing "I'm So Excited" by the Pointer Sisters and as you're rocking the octave bass notes it sounds like you're hitting a plastic device with a hammer at Home Depot! This piano has become UNPLAYABLE! I cringe when I play it, or even touch the keys.

      Probably just a defective unit, I just read a review of someone happy with their P115 after 6 mos. I used to have the balanced weighted hammer action which isn't even as realistic and no issues (S90ES), and had that for years. The standard GH action has been around for a while, and yes, reviews are excellent for this model.
