Seems more like Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot. Gal is smart, talented, charming ridiculously beautiful... really limited as an actor. Hayek, Jolie and Chan are all great actors
Great commentary on modern Hollywood where critically acclaimed directors are brought in to direct big franchises only to have their creative vision boiled down as much as possible for mass appeal.
Yeah. I have no idea why studios think indie directors making poignant social dramas are good fits for these badly written comic movies. Maybe it's studios trying to buy credibility for their lame blockbusters.
@@humann5682 That's a part of it yes. The other part is that since these are directors who don't have much experience with large budgets and effect heavy films, they're easier for the studio to control.
@iorekby yeah I feel like they'll come back though, guardians was really great and if they could just get focused again and slow it down a bit, it'll go back on track. Or maybe I'm being like barry and in denial
They get these dramatic filmmakers who have no interest in making fantasy movies to make fantasy movies. Of course they’re gonna suck! 😄 James Gunn made Slither before Guardians of the Galaxy, he had some genre experience. Sam Raimi has the Evil Dead movies and so on before Spider-Man.
So this is Chloe Zhao during the making of Eternals
Great comment. So true
I'm so glad both women aren't Zack Snyder. Or the director of 1985's Red Sonja because it looks like she's doing a remake there.
Yeah no shit!!!
Same with Destin Daniel Cretton with Shang Chi.
And Ryan Coogler with Black Panther 2.

The director of Madame Web:
Anyone come here after hearing Sarah Polley is directing the live-action Bambi for Disney?
Holy shit, I literally did show up from hearing that news lol
Nah. I come here after hearing Greta Gerwig will direct Narnia for Netflix.
@@gilbertoaspericuetasillas6489 That was a year ago? Fuck.
Run yourself under the cold water tap for 60 seconds MCU, cause you just got burnnnneeed!
Hey the MCU put out some damn good movies.
@@ryantony7743 Yeah maybe 4 or 5 years ago. Sadly that's just a distant memory.

Had to come here since “Twisters” is coming out. Whoever made that made “Minari”, lol
The Director has admitted he was a fan of the original so he was happy to take the chair and make the movie
It was actually kind of good tho! So silver linings!
Are they related?!
No, different spellings of the last name.
Yeah they're related. His mother and her mother are both mothers.
