- Let's install another SSD in this brand new MSI GE76 Raider which we finally got. I will share with you guys of how to install it. Thank you for watching, and I hope my video can be both informative and entertaining for you. The specs of this laptop can go as high as RTX 3080, i9, and 64 GB RAM. The best way to keep the laptop cool is to get a cooling pad, and I have some recommendations below too.

Se puede hacer lo mismo con las GE76 11UG? sucede que no la he abierto por la garantía y en el sistema, no encuentro donde puedo verificar si tiene el espacio extra para otro M.2 y que tipo.... Gen4 o 3 (3x4) y eso depende también de ese extra slot y la memoria que ya tiene, pero en el sistema de la laptop, 😕😕😕... en teoría si me voy a MSI, me dice: 1x M.2 SSD slot (NVMe PCIe Gen3)
1x M.2 SSD slot (NVMe PCIe Gen4)... pero no especifica que viene de fabrica, si el Gen 3 o el 4... confuso este tema.

I just got my GE76 and this video makes me feel very comfortable about installing a 2nd SSD myself. The 1 TB that came with it got filled day one, and I'm considering a 4 TB addon.If that can work, I'm set for a while.

@@RyanYu Naw, that's my old laptop.... this one holds a lot of absolutely massive games. ESO, RDR2, GTA V, and others from my 200+ titles on Steam.
@@rotaugen454 I play ESO, WoW, and FFXIV. I'm using 2x Samsung 980 Pros, because it was cheaper to buy two of those than to buy one 4TB by about $300 lol.

Question for you. My 2022 MSI Raider's LCD died and both hinges broke so I bought a used laptop with the exact same specs off eBay - I love this laptop. The only diff is mine has more memory which is not a problem I can swap that. It also has a 1TB HD with W11 where mine has a 500GB with W10Pro and I want to keep my hard drive and OS.
My question, and I think know the answer, is if I put my 500GB in the slot the 1TB drive is in now, it should boot on my old drive right? I know I can just go into the management and set the boot drive, but I have not worked with W11 and since I need to open it to swap the memory anyway and based on how easy this is to install the HD...I figure I might as well just swap the HD slots. I'll end up with a 500GB system drive and a second 1TB drive I can use to load games and crap. Should work right ??

You can use the same exact ones that I used in the video, and I have the link in the description. The reason that I use them is because they are plug and play, no need to do any overclock or anything, and they are compatible to pretty much all laptops.

After prying the pesky aluminum black cover from the ram, I was able to swap a 64GB of Crucial (2x32GB) DDR5 4800MHz CL40 laptop memory. My question now is: what's the max PCIe NVMe Gen4 M.2 2280 Internal SSD capacity that the MSI GE76 Raider i9-13900H RTX 3060 can hold. 2x 1TB, 2x 2TB (my expected choice) or 2X 4TB? Tyvm!

The little cable, there is a little hook that you can release.
@@RyanYu thanks but mine had no little hook. I tried like an amateur to push with tiny metal screwdriver which I think shorted the battery. I then found a plastic one, but too late.
Additional 1TB make a big difference!

I didn't use any because I don't think the RAM will generate that much heat.

1st SSD Slot is the preinstalled one.
2nd SSD Slot Crucial P3 Plus 4TB PCIe Gen4 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD, up to 5000MB/s - CT4000P3PSSD8.
Also added Crucial RAM 64GB Kit (2x32GB) DDR5 4800MHz CL40 Laptop Memory CT2K32G48C40S5

hello! You installed it in slot for PCIex 3rd gen and this is SSD 3rd Gen - ok. And first is for faster 4rd gen! I didn't open my yet - is it empty slot is further from GPU as on video? So then when upgrade time will come - have to change places for faster SSD closer to GPU and reinstall Windows possbily.
Yes, correct, and you don't have to reinstall the windows, you can swap the windows to your new drive.
Do you have faster SSD or decided not to upgrade ? I am looking. Later for Samsung 980 pro 4gen

Hello, I have a question, are both inputs for the ssd 4th generation pcle?, or only one is 4th gen and the other 3rd gen, how do I know which is the 4th gen, because I want to install a new ssd 4 gen for be principal , and the ssd of factory use like hdd
The older version uses both in 3rd gen. I'm not sure about the new ones.

So sad I just now seen this video, I got a MSI GE76 the 3080 one and I added a seagate 4tb ssd to it and I have opened and took out the ssd before many times like you were doing but i never took the battery out or held down power button, literally just shut computer off and flipped it around and do my thing, nothing seemed to happen haha

Depends. Some laptops only have 1 slot which means you can't install an extra drive.
