From a fellow DeLorean owner (1844) over in the Colonies, thank you for putting the time, effort, and professionalism into making these videos. Living in Miami, I see so many high-end modern sports cars but (true story) when a red Ferrari 458 Spider is following on your quarter and the drivers lady friend is taking photos of your D, then you know you have something extra special.
Thanks Christian - it’s good to know the effort that goes in is appreciated! And you’re exactly right about the Ferrari - nothing else gets attention like the DMC 😊
Came here for 996 40th Anniversary content and came away with an appreciation of the DMC-12, I always thought they were an electrical nightmare and best avoided but this video has grabbed the essence of how these cars can get under your skin. Great video and extremely well produced, many thanks!
Thank you Mark! That’s exactly the point with the DeLorean - it’s not about objective numbers or clinical analysis, rather the subjective stuff which it does rather better! 40AE a great car too obviously 👍
Funnily enough I’ve got a new dizzy arm and cap (and HT leads) ready to go on - will be doing a film about the various ways to break your DeLorean whilst trying to fix it next 🤣
@@RUNDMC1 Never! I hope you are doing well and next year this time you can take your DeLorean out for the quarter mile or a scenic run along the californian coast! Get well, or get well...er? Betterer? Best! Get the best and keep them spirits up!
My only problem, that's not a 1981 911. Still loved the video, but are modern cars and old cars really comparable, especially when it comes to heated seats?
No, not really. But it’s quite hard getting hold of a 1981 911 SC during a global pandemic :) It’s more about comparing the lineage and what 40 years of development can do for rear engine design.
totally unfair comparing a 1981 car to a car from the mid 2000s, should have been compared to a porsche from the same era, the DeLorean would have won fair and square cuz the only thing those old air cooled porsches have on it, is performance, luxury, ride, cool factor, handling, its all better in the DeLorean.
We just did a 200 mile circuit in our 3 deloreans today. My local club and I had a great day, and now I come home to a new video by you, just fantastic stuff! Cheers! Get bored here's an imgur album of todays journey. imgur.com/gallery/MBpyYG3 Love your content man.
i m the proud owner of an 82 automatic. YES its not the fastest car but thats the last thing I care about. I dont need to impress any person by how fast I can go into corners.
@@RUNDMC1 The cat will be gone in October when I get the new UK exhaust. If I wanna go faster I use my 87 C4 Corvette. Both are my dream cars and I dont care about new cars cause they are either boring or cost 195.000 Euros. Plus I always wonder how all those electric gremlins will act in 10 or 15 years on those newer cars. If there is one other car I would love to own its either a Lotus Europa 1970 or a Bond Bug haha
Good video but I gota agree with a lot of the other commenters. If it was hard to come by a 1981 porsche, then why compare a delorean to a porsche that's 25 years newer for a video? Not fair just based on them both being rear engine cars. No challenge when comparing modern suspension parts and materials, manufacturing, electronics etc. The reason for the low views is probably because when people see the picture of the video they don't see comparable cars. I'd make a true comparison video with a 1981 porsche and see what you get. But I do love your math at then end and thought it was a great video really showing the true characteristics of the car!
Why compare it to one 25 years newer? Because you can see how the engineering of rear engined cars has evolved over time. Because I could. And it’s fun!
i compare vehicles from the same period or the air-cooled with the water-cooled porsche. but not because the engine is in the back. Just my opinion. I have both. ;-)
This is NOT a 1981 Porsche 911. The 911 by 1981 had 50 years + developing done. The DeLorean only 18 months! A now (40 years on) fully updated DeLorean is something totally different. Spending Porsche money only a DeLorean can really makes you LIVE THE DREAM 🍀
The delorean with the Porsche engine in the rear more performance and a better looking engine. That Renault engine Is a awful . 0 to 60. 11 seconds TERRIBLE
I'd still take the DeLorean any day of the week
Big time. I'd still take the DeLorean any week of the year, too.

Exactly why I parked my Delorean! Too dangerous of a car for a young Married Man!
Got to drive my uncles Delorean yesterday i have to say to me it has plenty of power and it puts a smile on ones face when you do drive it
That they certainly do!
I love this and enjoyed it thoroughly. The final calculations at the end made perfect sense to me. For my money, a DM-12 please.
I’m expecting a world of abuse for the final maths - thanks for being surprising 😊
This is the most stellar and entertaining video I’ve seen all month! (DMC for ever and ever)
Thank you Chris!
Another great video! Still loving my DeLorean, and loving more the happiness it brings to so many people.
You’re exactly right - the car spreads joy all by itself!
A Delorean looks 10 times better than a Porsche 911.
Bought my 83 D in July 2000 for 9500 USD. Good buy :) Delivered pizza with her for 2 years until 2002. Still drive her regularly 22 years later
Great tips - nice one! You’ve had your D even longer than I’ve had mine!
The DeLorean just looks special . Really enjoyed this . Good fun watch and very informative
Thanks Gavin! No idea why this film is struggling for views, took me forever to make!
@@RUNDMC1 I will share it
Came highly recommended by Jos, and rightly so . I love the DeLorean story . Legend through failure!

Another great Delorean video. Nicely produced, great work 👍👌
This is such a well produced video, really great work
Thank you! For some reason this film hasn’t really found the views yet - don’t know why!
Please keep making delorean videos so that I can get my fix until my wife let's me get one.
I second this comment.
Did you ever get it?
I think you add a point for the vintage style tropical shirts. Definitely.
You did it again Gez! Fantastic production, loved watching it. I need to improve my sunglasses collection.
Haha, thank you! Glad you approved of the gratuitous selection of cheap retro sunnies 🤣
Nicely done, Gez! Although I absolutely love the 911, I’m still sticking with my DeLorean for life! Cheers - Matt & 5144
Thanks Matt! 🤣
Great vid! Btw I solved the warm start after many years of trying. It turned out to be a wearing distributor and rotor.

Looking well gez, and that V6 sounding sublime 😁👍

Heinz Guderian Thank you!
It's so nice to know that you are one of maybe 7500 owners in the world!!!
Only 1963 if you’re a 40 Jahre owner!
Rented both a 911 and DeLorean, all I can say is the Porshe handled better but it didn't catch as many eyes as the DMC-12 did.
Exactly
Omg, nice to see you back!
Thank you, been a while! Not going to be as long for the next one :)

Nice one Blake!
I want a Delorean. damn
Of course you do! 👍
Great but maybe more 81 Porsche info could have been more useful to keep the minds of the audience in perspective if you use a modern 911
Nice video, but would be even better to compare it to a 81 911SC. (BTW I finally received my Delorean....!)
Another great and informative Delorean video. I and going to order myself one - in mustard yellow. Where’s my nearest showroom?
Will look pimp on the streets of NY images.app.goo.gl/Zq9uMcETemnVN3Kr9

That’s how we say it in the UK! Adding the -er sounds a bit wanky (to us)
